This particular store has excellent customer service, which should be the standard for similar high-end jewelry stores in the immediate vicinity, but, sadly, simply isn't. I love Tiffany & Co. for gifts for any occasion. They always seem to have merchandise in a variety of price ranges, which I appreciate. There is also something special about the "blue box." Actually, I was not given the opportunity to have a full experience. I contacted Laura Cowles regarding scheduling an engagement ring appointment the week of November 8th. She appeared to be very responsive, knowledgeable, professional and nice. I was asked to provide details of my budget and the type of ring I desired. I was informed by Laura that she would contact me back for an appointment once she obtained her schedule. I was never followed up with. To me, that did not sit well. When you have GIA certification, I assume you are professional. I don't believe it was a mistake I was not followed up with. I believe it was because I gave her our budget, which I felt was something Tiffany's could work with. I don't feel a customer should be eliminated in that manner! You never know what a person truly has financially. Yes, we could have spent as much as 30,000 on a ring but we had our reasons for our range. Therefore, we took our business elsewhere and got the same ring for half the price. We also received a much better and more professional service. My advice: Don't tell someone you plan to do something you don't plan on doing. Be honest and guide them. It does not speak well of your character and professionalism. read more

A terrible experience. Will never return. My Tiffany diamond wedding band split open at the bottom. When I took it to them the woman in customer service she said it was beyond its warranty and she would have to send it out and get back to me with an estimated cost of repair. I pressed her on standing by their product and feeling I should not have to pay for the repair. I also wanted the ring resized one size larger. Her manager said they would grant the one-time repair but not the resizing and gave me a ridiculously expensive estimate on the resizing. The woman in customer service said "Are there even stones in it?" Remember...this is their product!!! I took my ring to another very reputable jewelry store very close by and they did an outstanding job and it was a fraction of the cost. Couldn't be happier with the treatment my wife and I received at this location. We had batteries replaced in two watches while we waited, given a silver cleaning cloth to keep and use on a necklace of ours, given advice on where to have a non-Tiffany bracelet repaired and a bottle of water greatly appreciated on a 98 degree summer day. i am upset i never reviewed this tiffany's before! how did i forget? let me just say this is the ABSOLUTE best tiffany location ive been to (i have been to one in chicago, NYC, providence and vienna). this past summer, i was looking for a bracelet to buy my boyfriend (he always wears a hair tie of mine and needed something a bit more classy). well, procrastinator me (i just cant seem to stop but, oh well) needed a birthday present, if i remember correctly...that day or the next. frantically, i called the vienna location (read my vienna review after). i asked for the bracelet and if they could hold it for me and i would be on my way. the lady on the phone had two replies, #1. "ive only got one left i cant hold it." then #2. "im holding it for someone else." dumbfounded, i thought, "maybe she can see me through the phone that im wearing an oversized t-shirt with a hole and old PJs and thinks that im not worthy because im a 20year old college student?" bitch, i shop at tiffanys at least twice a year. okay, back to the chevy chase location. i called the chevy chase location. the woman, patricia, was the nicest woman i have ever talked to at any tiffany. she said she had a couple of bracelets left and would hold one for me. i quickly google mapped directions and off i went! it was a saturday afternoon and i think i made it there in almost the same time it would have taken me to go to vienna. maybe +10 minutes, tops. i walk in, again the security guard was very nice. patricia assisted me throughout my whole purchase AND asked if i wanted to view anything else. i almost fainted. she made small talk with me asked about school, my job, etc. she even let me try on a 2 ct diamond. that never happens to me, ever. a week later, a card arrived for me. first class mail. it was patricia, thanking me for my purchase. now that is great customer service. unfortunately, i have not been back to this location for one reason- because when i had gone in the summer, i ended up drooling over the rodeo-like shops and not only bought the bracelet, but dropped more money on me at barney's coop. OOPs! :) and also took a little venture into LV (even THEY were nice to me! maybe there is something in the water at the vienna T&Co. and LV shops). did not make a purchase, yet. read more

What can be said about Tiffany & Co.? It is a symbol of quality and excellence as far as jewelry goes, which is why it is so disappointing when the customer service is not up to par. I have bought jewelry from Tiffany over the years, so I know to expect a high markup. They have built a brand, and that blue box is a big part of what you are paying for. That's fine. For the higher price, however, I expect courteous and knowledgeable salespeople who take an interest (and have a clue) about what they are selling. I did not find such staff at this location. I was at the Chevy Chase location looking for a Tiffany Etoile diamond band and a pair of diamond stud earrings. For the diamond band, I was already in love with it and it is a piece that is somewhat unique to Tiffany, so I didn't need much convincing. I did want some guidance for the stud earrings, though. I had questions about quality and wanted some recommendation as to what would be suitable for a pair of earrings (versus an engagement ring, for example). The salesperson I dealt with did not seem well-versed on color and clarity grades, and did not convince me that the earrings were worth the astronomically high price. She wasn't able to answer any of my questions, and seemed unhappy to be there. She kept pushing me toward the most expensive pair without explaining what I was paying for and giving me useful information that would justify such a pricy purchase. Rather than let this frustrating experience continue, I purchased the Etoile band (and I am thrilled with it) but I wound up buying the earrings elsewhere. Maybe I'm too old school and my expectations of customer service are too high, but if I am considering spending $10k plus on a pair of earrings, I want to feel confident and educated about my purchase. I want to be educated on what important characteristics I need to consider in my purchase, and I want to feel like I am getting a fair price for a quality piece. As far as diamond earrings go, I did not feel this way at Tiffany. I will continue to shop here for silver and gold jewelry, but for diamond pieces where the price gets considerably higher, I recommend going to a few different jewelry stores to find the best deal. read more

We have done a lot of business with them in the past and have never had anything short of a 5 star experience. Most recently my daughter and I came in to buy a graduation gift for my niece. The staff were gracious and professional and helped us pick out a perfect rose gold bracelet. Everyone who works there is a delight, even when going to remove or add links in a watch as I did recently. This is my favorite Tiffany's the other ones are still nice, but I love the service here. They have let me come in with my giant dog several times, and they have given me great service every time , no matter what I'm buying or how young I was at the time. Laura took care of me mostly but I have had another sales associate help me with a different purchase because I just walked in rather than calling her for the item and I was still well taken care of. Although I do love Laura, she's the best. Tiffany's quality will last forever but word of advice don't wear the tiny delicate bracelets for everyday wear, as I've broken my peace one several times. read more

This is my favorite Tiffany and Co. Two of three pieces I own were purchased at this location. Each time I was assisted by Fernando, salesman extraordinaire. The first time I purchased a silver chain link bracelet and lock charm from Tiffany.com. Once the bracelet arrived, I realized it was too short. Fernando was the salesman who helped me replace the bracelet. The second time Fernando helped me with the purchase of a monogram bracelet. Both times Fernando was knowledgeable about product, and professional. He made my shopping experiences all the more enjoyable. read more

I went in to get my bracelet cleaned and from the beginning security guard "Claremont" was very helpful. He directed me to "Recardo" so I could process my bracelet. While I was sitting he offered me a beverage and the customer service was excellent. While sitting their I decided to look around and "Asha" assisted me with making my mind up to purshase another bracelet. The customer service is very strange. I brought in an engagement ring that is approx. 13k to get cleaned. I did not receive a receipt or slip from them acknowledging that they took in the ring. This has happened once or twice before. This makes me uncomfortable and I will not be back. I doubt that this is the store policy to tell customers to walk around while they have their ring cleaned and not provide a receipt. read more

I used to always go to Tyson Corner store. I had a wonderful sales associate named Olga help me all the time. I liked her so much. She was always patient and would give you lots of options. When I went there yesterday found out she doesn't work there anymore :( Now, here everything starts!! I walked in, nobody came to ask. Finally door man asked one of the sales person to help me. I don't understand; the whole point of being a sales person is to wait for customers and try to help them. But no..not at Tiffany!! I told her what I wanted..yellow gold jewelry. The sales person was like my boss, she would take out what I ask for. If I don't say anything she would act as if I have to buy that one. I barely looked at 3 jewelry because that's what she showed me. Oh! my sales person won't even let me try the necklace on!! She said I can just put it against my neck. I don't know why I did end up buying a necklace worth $$$$ but the minute I walked out the door I wasn't happy. I was mad. So, after reading all the good comments about Chevy Chase store I went there today to exchange the necklace and buy something else. I didn't find any difference. There were laughing behind my back. I assumed they were laughing at me. I just could not believe it. I love Tiffany's pieces but I don't think I would ever go to the store again. I would rather buy online. For Tiffany's SA: Just because you work there wearing suits doesn't given you a class. Everything was so gorgeous! Nothing like sparkle to brighten up your day. Marilyn Monroe was right....diamonds are indeed a girl's best friend. The salesperson offered me a cool beverage as it was hot outside that day and was at the ready to assist me. I think she knew I would't be purchasing anything that day but she was ready if I did decide to whip out a black card to buy a $3K tennis bracelet. I will simply share my email I sent to the store management after shopping there: After doing some Christmas shopping at your store yesterday, I felt compelled to send an email in an attempt to reach store management. I have been sick with the flu for the better part of a week now, but decided to make it out anyway to try and finish up my holiday shopping. With how sick I've been, I was not the most well-kept customer to walk into the store that day. I have been in similar experiences at other high-end stores and have had miserable shopping experiences with no help whatsoever from the staff. However, immediately upon walking into your store, Patricia (sales associate) gave me her undivided attention. She was attentive without being pushy, and ran laps around the store while I tried to find that perfect gift. I did end up finding that gift, and don't think I could have dealt with the combination of flu symptoms and the stress of shopping for a picky girlfriend without Patricia's help. I was handed off to a man in his 20s or 30s who had no clue what the difference was between a gift for a younger and older woman. Finally I said I would look around myself and he followed me around the store. I felt like I was being stalked. It was very uncomfortable. I finally approached a woman in her 40s who was very helpful. I've been in here a few times and usually get better service but the whole experience was annoying. I left my 3k platinum diamond tiffany necklace with Tiffany Chevy Chase for repairs and they replaced the chain with a much thinner gauge one. I'm not happy about this because the chain is platinum and so much of its value is in the weight of the chain. Also, the thinner chain will be even more prone to breakage. I am waiting for tiffany to open today so that I can discuss this matter. I have worn this necklace every day for the past 3 years so I know this is the wrong chain. On another note, I went to the store with my baby and had to struggle getting her down the stairs in her stroller. I was looking for two items I had seen on Tiffany's web site and neither one was available in the shop. read more

We are on vacation and arrived in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops but they didn't bat an eye; we were immediately greeted by three employees asking if they could help us. While the sales staff was very helpful and nice while making a purchase, their reassurance that any sizing changes needed in the length of the purchased necklaces would be free of charge was disputed by the customer service personnel in charge of repairs. A necklace that was purchased in May 2016 was a bit too long, and I took it to Tiffany's for shortening. Both sales reps on the store floor said it would be free to shorten the chain. But both service repair people said there would be a fee for shortening the chain. And they looked surprised and askance when I insisted that both my husband and I were told this type of change would be free. I am not impressed with this conflict of what customers are told when purchasing merchandise and what they are told when bringing said merchandise in for this type of repair. read more

The jewelry is of poor quality. The beads are made of plastic the charms are so small you need magnifying glass to read the writing. If you like paying over a $100.00 bucks for a blue green box of air go for it. What a waste of time. You could find better jewelry in a mall kiosk. read more

I am not too sure as to the caliber of service the negative reviewers are used to at this location,BUT each and every time I enter this location. I am greeted and welcomed by everyone from the doorman to the closing sales associate. I typically deal with a lovely young lady by the name of Sarah, whom I adored. I went in just yesterday to purchase some pearls for my sister's birthday and was assisted by P. Cassidy. She provided me with the same, if not better, customer service than Sarah. Smiles were aplenty, she showed me options, she asked questions and she closed the deal with every wish I needed attended to. The staff can not help the size of the store, nor the comparisons people place to other locations. However, given the space they are working with, I commend them for utilizing it properly.
