I worked with Dr Wilson and Sonia for 8 months to get a claim resolved and it never was. I ended up paying $500 out of my own pocket because Dr. Wilson doesn't know how to work with insurance. These people are so incompetent and rude. The doctor recommended I get a bone density test, trusting my doctor I of course, did that. Well, she ended up recommending a test for patients 20 years older than me and the Insurance would not cover it and she actually had the nerve to say that I should've known that.. stay away from these people. I recently switched primary care providers and found another provider in Irvine, Dr Shida Saam, who is amazing and night and day difference! I like Dr Wilson, a vast improvement over my prior doctor through Blue Cross! its not perfect, I have to make some calls to check on the status of scans and things being sent through that require a discussion with my Primary, but Ive found that is the case with every doctor I've had for years. Office not seeing anyone with an upper respiratory infection 2 years after covid! Was told by the rude office manager that this is now office policy to not allow any patients with respiratory infection in the office but I could do a phone appointment! How can she listen to my chest and know I'm okay with talking to me over the phone. I've been sick for 8 days and not getting better. I was already seen by urgent care and tested for covid and flu and it's negative. How convenient for the doctor to do appointments over the phone and bill the same yet not have to actually see her patients. I've been going here for years and every time I'm disappointed and want to change doctors. Sonia has always been rude on the phone. The back office girl has always been great and she is the only one. Always LATE and behind. Today they opened at 9 yet no answer until 925 was told they came in late. I sat in a room one time naked with a paper gown on waiting for a pap for over 30 minutes one time because I was the first appointment and they doctor came in 30 minutes late. If you don't mind being treated rude and no respect to your schedule this is your place. read more

After coming here for several years, I have to update my review. Dealing with the office staff is painful. They are disorganized and not knowledgeable when you ask questions. For example: one year I made an appointment for my physical. I asked if the appointment date was okay in terms of having my insurance cover it, and they said yes. I arrived at the office and was told oops, sorry, your insurance won't cover it for another week. It was a big waste of my time, especially since I'd already asked them to double check and they obviously didn't do that. One of the doctors here told me that two of the medications I'd been on for years were going to interact with each other, and that I really needed to stop taking one of them. I did. Of course, my next round of blood work results were awful. I called and insisted that she review my records. Oh, she said, I made a mistake; at the low doses you're on, those medications are fine. Oh, while we're on the topic: I started having really weird migraines and was referred to a neurologist. He was adamant that I stop taking the pill because the estrogen in it would put me at risk of a stroke. Dr. Wilson really didn't think it was a problem. I changed birth control methods anyway. The migraines all but stopped. Then there is the fact that you can't actually speak to a doctor or nurse here. You can only leave a voicemail and they'll eventually call you back. The office staff does not allow you to actually call your doctor. The only reason that this place gets more than one star is Nurse Diane. Diane is wonderful and I highly encourage you to see her if you can deal with the office staff. She actually remembered not only my medical history but also what we chatted about during the previous visit. When I got a new job, she even called to congratulate me. Diane made me feel like she cared about me. She is also extremely knowledgeable. WORST.OFFICE.EVER. I have asthma and have been trying to get a refill on my inhaler for 2 weeks...2...I don't know if any of you have asthma but inhalers are pretty important for breathing. My RESCUE inhaler is the one I'm having trouble getting btw. I started calling last Monday as the process was taking longer than usual "oh the dr will call you" "the dr will call the insurance company " here I am...still can't breath...no phone call, no RX. The front office ladies act like this isn't serious! Zero emotion. I have been told "it's being taken care of" so many times I can't count. The ladies in this office work really hard to answer the phones (which go off all the time), schedule appointments, manage prescription and refill requests, check-in and out patients, and attend to every patient's needs in the office. Granted there are only two women in the office running the show! And patient's can be difficult and aren't always polite! So when they deal with a rude and difficult patient it hurts me to see that. Yet, they do their best to keep their composure and not let bad experiences interrupt the overall workflow of the office. I'll start by saying that I had a rough start with this practice years ago and can echo some of the sentiment others have noted. There were certain obstacles that a patient encounters before and after a visit with Dr. Wilson. Within the last 6 months or so, those issues have ironed out with some wonderful additions to her staff over the past year. Sonya (apologies if misspelled!), Lucy, Marta, and Rosanna are wonderful. They've taken on a lot over the past year and sorted so much, giving them a little time it seems all has worked itself out. These ladies work very hard, especially given the constraints of dealing with certain insurances and billing. And while yes, I agree that we as patients are just as important, showing them a little courtesy and respect goes a long way. I was having trouble getting a prior authorization on a medication for over 6 months. The person that handled it just kept saying they didn't have time. After rounds and rounds of calls, I connected with Sonya as I was almost in tears with frustration. She took on my situation without knowing anything and fixed it within a day. This was the fall of last year (2016) as the shift in office staff started to happen. Since then, all the ladies have been wonderful in fielding all my questions and actually getting back to me when they say they will and not feeling like I am the one who has to constantly followup. They do what they say they will, and they work very hard. I too have had some issues with billing and have had to review some things with Monica, but for the most part it has worked out ok. You may have to followup a bit, but at this point to me it's peanuts for what you're getting in patient care. (Fingers crossed it stays that way!) Dr. Wilson is wonderful and caring, and really does the best that she can with the amount of time she is allowed per visit based on the industry standards and constraints. I've been going to her for years and even though I may not have anything too crazy going on, she still gives me a good amount of time and respect as a patient. She knows me and my chart, as do the nurses. I'd recommend looking at the situation as this practice being your neighbor, treating them with courtesy and respect will bring you the same. After selecting Tiffany Wilson and Kelly Wong as my PCP many years ago I kept them as my PCP even though I've changed companies multiple times throughout the years as I've only gone to seek medical advice on average probably once a year. I try to get my annual physical done every year but you know how that goes...sometimes you forget or life is so busy you might miss a year or two. My biggest complaint has always been the front office staff. Funny how when you look at other Yelp reviews for other doctors office many complain about front office staff as well. Not sure if they are just over worked or under payed or both?? They are rude and short and direct and don't mind talking trash/gossiping right after you leave the door, even though "us" patients are sitting not to far in the waiting room and can hear everything. Makes you wonder what they say about you when you leave the doctors office. The straw that broken the camels back is when I went in early June 2015 to have my index finger checked that occurred from basketball. Since I was there I also informed Dr. Wilson about my lingering back issues. It seems as though she did not appreciate me keeping my injuries piled up and be presented in one office visit. Hey, I'm just trying to maximize my 20 bucks co-pay! Anyways after being sent for X-rays i did not get my results. I called a couple of days later and I was told that they would get the results for me or emailed to me..NOTHING My wife decided to call for me and the front office told her that she remembered my request but they were VERY busy. Fast forward...I finally got my results from a mailed letter that the results came back normal. It was postmarked SEPTEMBER 15, 2015! 3 months to get my results. Well after reading all the reviews here I must add mine, long overdue, as I have been a patient of Dr.Wilson's for many years. Since she bought the practice from Dr. Werksman I believe in 2005. I was Dr. Werksman's patient since she opened the practice in 1997 or near that year. Anyway I have seen a lot of front desk people, back office assistants and PA's and nurse assistants and Nurse Practitioners as well as a few different doctors. It has been up and down through the years with changing staff, I will grant that in the early years it was great and then a few years later the staff started to not show the same care, then Dr. WIlson and Dr. Wong and Dr Meyrock came on board. Well everything started to get better. There have been ongoing issues with back staff and front also. But fast forward things have only been better and better. Dr Werksman retired a few years ago, Dr. Meyrock left and took a new position as did Dr. Wong. Now Dr. Wilson is the only Dr. and I don't know how she does it. Of course she has a family and has a limited schedule ( don't we all, and we should n"t expect her to not have a personal life, we have one don't we) and I have never had a problem getting an appointment with her or a NP. Her current staff of Sonia, Lucy have been simply fantastic. I adore them and they care so much about the patients. I do not understand the bad reviews. What is it that people expect? I think that a lot of people are so picky and too demanding, I have been in the waiting room and actually heard patients bickering with the staff and they can be very mean. They work so hard and put up with a lot. Sonja is so professional and kind and will do everything she can to fix whatever your problem may be. Lucy is so sweet, and wiling to chit chat a bit to relax us nervous folks, it is a joy to have my blood pressure taken. I love those girls. They make me feel welcome, relaxed and just feel good when I go there, even when I feel really sick. Dr.Wilson's office is run so efficiently because of these lovely women. We can always find fault no matter where we go but these women bend over backwards to help anyone. They take the abuse given to them which is unfair, and they don't deserve it, just try to put yourself in their shoes. As to Dr. Wilson, she is so caring and sweet, and a very good doctor. I was getting behind in my routine care and she kept up with sending me notices, calling and trying to get my but in there, I was going through some crap life throws at us and just kept putting it off. I finally went and felt better when I had my visit with her and the results were good. I felt relief and I knew of her having gone through cancer herself I really respected and appreciated her caring enough to want me to get checked. My doctor really understands my concerns and only wants what is best for me. She has always come through for me and I will always be grateful. This past year she has been so helpful as I have been and continue to be under great stress and what a support she and the girls have been to me. Thank you Dr. Wilson. You should come to this office and meet Sonjia, Lucy ( thank you so much Sonjia and Lucy for everything you have done for me, I will never forget you) and Dr. Wilson and you will have great care and competent care. Not only is Dr. Wilson caring, she is very competent, smart and I like that she is open, honest and she listens to you carefully. She gives you options. That's hard to find these days, she is not in a hurry either. Well, I love her as my doctor and will never leave, as I trust her and want that special relationship that is hard to find. Mm have been a patient here for at least 6-7 years, maybe longer. The doctors are fine but it is annoying when you have an appointment time and you have to wait extra. Ok fine, it seems to be the standard. The last straw for this place was my last visit for a physical. They took me to the examining room, had me undress and wait...and wait...and wait. Finally after waiting for about 45 minutes there i decided this was enough. I called the front office and asked what was the hold up or if i should reschedule. They said nothing to me other than you'll be seen soon. I wasn't. After 10 more minutes i got dressed and left. I saw the dr. in the hallway, i think making her way to my roll, and said I'm so sorry there was an emergency with another patient. I get it. That's why we're at the doctor. What I dont appreciate is basically being held hostage there waiting. When i called the front office, the decent thing to do would have been to apologize and say that an emergency came up and if I'd like to reschedule. There was no regard for my time and that i have other things to do. They wasted my time and don't even care. It's just all about the money. Anyways, i won't be going back here any longer. Terrible! I've been a patient here for many years. The receptionists are atrocious with terrible dispositions. They are hot headed and speak over you when you have any question. They are unbearable to deal with and have no regard for clients. I'd like to remind Dr Wilson that patients are CLIENTS we have a choice and can go elsewhere for better service. Someone has to do something about the lack of customer service at this office before every client leaves and Dr Wilson has to shut her doors. I hate to bash this place so badly but I have never been treated so badly and dealt with such ghetto and low class uneducated team with absolutely no couth and no manners. I have just received a new HMO insurance and Dr. Wilson was assigned to me. I injured my knee 4 days ago and today it is worse, I can barely walk. I phoned the office right when it was opened. I like all the providers including dr Wilson and Dianne the NP. However, the administration is horrible! Front office staff and billing are rude, immature, disorganized, and unprofessional. I too was billed for a service a did not receive. When I arrived for an annual exam they said I had to settle my bill before being seen. I called Monica directly from the office and she confirmed it was an error. I returned again a few weeks later and they tried to collect the same bill I had already discussed with Monica! Even worse, I had some blood work ordered by dr Wilson and had it drawn. Called to get my results because it had been more than 2 weeks. They claimed they never received the results from the lab. Called the lab who states they have proof the results were sent twice! I received my own copy of labs (which BTW were abnormal results). Guess what? Almost 3 months later and STILL no call from the office or a provider to discuss my abnormal results! As if the above weren't enough for me to never return, I have been a patient since 2005. They have since LOST 8 years of my medical records from 2005-2013. All they have in their system is records from 2013-2017. Oh and during the time of the records missing, I had Breast cancer. TWICE!!! Yep, those records are gone! I have no recourse to retrieve them! Last, sent a certified letter directly addressed to Dr Wilson stating all my concerns and asking for a call to discuss my lab results. I have proof it was received and signed for by her employee. Yep you guessed it, once again, no communication whatsoever. Agree with some of the other reviews in that the providers for the most part have always been very good. A year ago I would have given this place a 10 star if I could. I started seeing Dr. Wilson a few years back when I moved to Irvine since I didnt really have a set dr and my insurance referred me to this office. They where great the girls in the in the front where always very helpful and nice. In the last 6 months I have had to visit my dr. more often then usual and may I add I still dont know what is wrong with me, anyway I noticed the girls there now are rude and not too happy to be there not sure why. The last few times I have been there I get called in quickly but then get to sit in the room for 45 plus mns. with an appointment. Which would be fine if someone would come in to let me know the dr. is running late. The first time this happened I though they forgot i was there.When the dr. finally comes in she is in a hurry and doesn really seem to care. When ever I had blood work done they would call with results within 2-3 days now you have to call them in order for them to rememeber to review your results not sure if thats the drs. fault or the girls in the front. I have seen the nurse practioner Diane and honestly hope she is the one to see me when i do come in, she is the reason I even gave this place any stars at all. As soon as they can hopefully figure out what is wrong with me i will be taking my file elsewhere. This may sound dramatic, but Tiffany Wilson SAVED MY LIFE. On my first appointment with her as my new primary care doctor, she decided to biopsy 3 moles. NONE of them looked that bad, but I am fair and have a history of basal cell. One of those moles came back as melanoma. It was 1.37 mm in thickness and within a week's time, I had a wide excision on my back (under anesthesia, 18 stitches) AND two lymph nodes removed. Thankfully, it had not yet spread there but would have in mere months' time since it has a fast mitosis rate. In any case, I WAS regularly checked by a dermatologist (Gary Lee in Irvine) who never picked up on it. She said that it is within the standard of care for a dermatologist to "watch" moles - even suspicions ones - for change. Bewildered and BEYOND thankful, I asked her why she did not do that. This office is horrible. Front desk definitely seems clueless and unprofessional. Saw Dr. Wilson for the first time for new patient appointment and never even did a physical exam. Tried to give me products sold in office that didn't work and she will not give a referral to see a specialist. She wants to control everything with the patient even though she is not the specialist for specific problem. Then MD never available only can be seen my NP who was nice but always behind. I spent more time in the lobby and waiting waiting to see the doctor than with the doctor and when I finally met with Dr. Wilson she was rude and showed little concern for my health. She even informed me that my appointment was only supposed to be for 15 minutes, which the front office failed to inform me of when I made the appointment. If you are sick and need help, I wouldn't recommend going here.
