George is the best! He is priced fairly and is reliable and trustworthy! And an all around nice guy! I drive have an old car that Ive been taking to him for 4 years. Sometimes he even will advise me not to waste my money to repair certain things that can wait or aren't necessary. He has even fixed little things for me without charging me. As a single woman who knows nothing about vehicles, it's a relief to know that I'm not being taken advantage of. The garage is busy so I know not to expect my car to be done within an hour but usually it's pretty quick turnaround time. I recommend him all the time to people that I know. I know that most mechanics have a bad reputation of screwing customers over that don't know a thing about cars however this shop is far and away the worst I've ever seen. The staff is completely unprofessional, rude, and untrustworthy. So here's my experience with this joke of a shop. I purchased a used vehicle knowing that there were some minor issues that needed to be fixed. However, I felt the vehicle was in good enough shape to pass inspection. The vehicle failed inspection due to a faulty emergency parking brake. The mechanic then told me I also have an exhaust leak and electrical ground issue with my driver side tail light. So I said okay can you fix these issues so that vehicle is safe to drive and pass inspection. He says sure you can leave the car with me tomorrow morning and I'll have it done by tomorrow night. The original plan was to fix the tail light ground issue, patch the small exhaust leak, and repair the emergency break. I drop the vehicle off the next day and what was supposed to be a days worth of work and a fair repair bill ended up turning into a complete nightmare. I took the day off of work hoping the mechanic stuck to his word and had my car done by the end of the day as he said he would. A few hours after dropping it of he went on and on explaining how if he's going in to replace the parking brake shoe that I should just replace the rear drums, rotors, calipers, and pads. He says "I do everything new if I'm taking every thing apart I don't like to fuck around, everything brand new". This raised a huge red flag for me but I said you know what just do it because I just bought the vehicle and would like peace of mind that the brakes are safe. He gives me a price to do the job and I agreed to let him do the work. A few hours later he calls back saying "brother I'm running into problems I need to replace more cables. The car won't be ready until tomorrow." It sucked hearing this and having to take a second day off of work but I said I understand. He calls the next day as I'm home from work blaming his vendors for not having the part needed to finish the job and that it would be another day! At this point I'm furious taking 3 days off of work without pay feeling like my car is being held hostage. Finally the work is done. Or so I thought it was. My car magically has a good inspection sticker now yet my taillight still isn't working at all and I notice my exhaust pipe is completely disconnected from my muffler. He charged me $1400 and cost me 3 days off of work for what was essentially a brake job. I can't believe he passed this vehicles inspection with the exhaust pipe completely disconnected from the muffler. He didn't fix anything, in fact he broke the vehicle probably hoping I would come back again in a few days for another hefty repair bill. This shop should be reported to the state and shut down for the scams they pull on customers. They are flat out robbing people. On top of my already bad experience, I walk in a few days later explaining to the mechanic that I already paid him $1400 cash and that my exhaust sounds horrible and my tail light is still broken. He went on and on saying to leave the car again overnight and take another day off of work and he will look at it. He then takes a phone call while I was in the office discussing my issues and he starts calling a customer a "fucking idiot". Once he hangs up he then pulls out a machete from under the desk and says "look at this , some fucking people man. What an asshole that guy is. He thinks he's cool because he has like 50 cars. I don't care, fuck him, fucking asshole" at this point I realize I fucked up bringing my car here but I play nice hoping he would fix my problems that I already paid for. He then tells me he's too busy to fix it and to leave it again another day. So it was clear that I was the least of his worries since he already got my money, he wanted to focus on scamming someone else for more money. I finally said fuck it and brought my vehicle to Eli's garage down the street to have my car fixed the right way and paid again for repairs that I already paid these clowns to do. I really hope this long review reaches someone that can get this business shut down. I highly recommend staying as far away from this place as possible. STAY AWAY! REALLY. -100 stars This man is a complete scam artist. The only thing is he's really crappy at even being a scam artist because he keeps saying the same lies. He should really come up with a new fake story to give people because it's getting pretty obvious that this is his pattern. I came here for a state inspection, and had recently had my car fixed/checked by my mechanic. Upon arrival I should have just turned around and left. I pointed out I needed wiper fluid and a new blade. He said no problem that he'd just do that before for 20 dollars. But then it got weird. He said 'Oh if I happen to find a light out, should I fix it? I said I would like to see anything wrong first, and mentioned I had just had the car repaired and i'm sure my regular mechanic would have spotted it. He said oh, well they miss things sometimes. He told my husband I to wait, and 'inspected' my car in 7 minutes (the start time and end time are indicated on the report). I didn't hear him even honk the horn. I stood watching as he barely touched my car. He then goes, oh your brakes are bad you failed. You need a master cylinder too. I told him I just had them done less than 10 months ago 'Well they did a bad job,' he says. I immediately drove to another mechanic that inspects on the advice of my regular mechanic and he said my breaks are completely fine. When I questioned him, he got angry, and was like are you going to pay? What do you think we do here?! He also failed me for windshield wiper fluid (WHO DOES THAT?) He also failed to give us our inspection report and I had to go back to get it from the front desk. I am in the process right now of reporting him to the registry and have filed an Inspection Station Complaint Form. I called him back to tell him my brakes were fine, and that he could make things right by giving me my sticker and he said that I must have had them fixed (sure in 15 minutes I got brakes done.. we must be on a different time space continuum) He also lied again and said the inspector from the state would come to his location and look at my car (that's not true, the look at HIS practice, and MY car separately). He is basically trying to scare people into not reporting him! Well, he picked the wrong woman to mess with. I certainly hope he will lose his inspection station credentials. Did my inspection today,the guy over there asked me to wait in the office while he was doing inspection.After 2 minute,he came to me and said "I want to show you something".He took me to my car and said back side indicaotr light bulbs are about to fuse and he advised me to go for a new pair.He said it costs me $30. I was so surprised how these bulbs have become less durable.I did not question him and asked him to change.While removing the bulbs,he showed me how dark it was.I thought he was genuine.Later my friend told me they do this rip-off for every inspection you there. Then the questions came to my mind why he asked me to wait at the office when i dropped the car first and later when he was changing the bulbs he asked me to stay with him. I asked him how he could tell without looking at them and he immediately told me that he doesn't want to waste his time and gave me my keys back. i feel really bad for the people that left bad reviews for this place thus far. I know what it feels like to get screwed for auto repairs. HOWEVER, this was not my experience with tiger auto repair. I brought my car here because I had a check engine light and my car was stalling immediately after start up. I work right around the corner so this place is really easy for me to get to a one minute walk. Dropped it off, got a call back a few hours later explaining what was wrong, got the work done, picked up the car by 4 pm. Needed a new Mass Air Flow unit and the throttle needed adjustment. What I paid was fair, not as cheap as having a buddy work on your car, but they do good work and I think it was worth it. Also got a good tuneup from here a few years back. Also the manager here is a real cool guy and the mechanic working on my car thoroughly explained what was wrong with the car, what they would do to fix it, They even took care of a few simple fix problems for me i was having while they were under the hood. above and beyond. read more

I never thought I would be writing a review for this place because I have been going there for a while. I was scammed by this place and just like the previous person I got my car inspected and I was charged 30 dollars for a replacement bulb that was out!! Then I had my brake rotors and pads changed and 3 months later I heard a squeaking sound coming from my brakes. I had a friend from work that was good with cars take a look and my brakes that were supposed to have been changed were worn and my calipers were even worse.. Stay away from Tiger Auto! read more

Ok...I implore anyone who reads this review to not only remember this particular auto repair shop, but also to remember that there are many of these types of businesses out there. Auto mechanics have many oppotunitues to not only take advantage of their customers by overcharging, but to go even further by simply lying about the condition of various parts of your vehicle in order to charge you more money...IE: committing a crime in the way of theft and or, destruction of private property. When a mechanic tells you that your car needs parts and services that it doesn't, they are trying to steal your hard earned money. In this case, the mechanic in question was so taken back by my sudden outburst that he literally admitted to lying to me in order to make more money. He said, (keeping in mind, this excerpt is only one instance taken from the entire dispicable interaction I had with this guy) "If I'd told you I was going to charge you $75, you wouldn't have left your car overnight." He said those very words to me right after I reminded him that he was suppose to call me before doing ANY work on my car. He was only supposed to give me a free estimate on repairing a headlight. When first we spoke, I also happened to mention that the mechanic I usually go to would possibly be repairing my timing belt...I mentioned this simply in passing...at no time did I ask him for an estimate on the timing belt, nor did I express any interest in him doing the work...but apparently, he saw this as another opportunity to lie and steal from me...so he told me that he'd already taken the cover off the timing belt...that he was in the process of fixing the part and that it would cost me $700.00. It was then that I lost my cool and started freaking out on this fool. The only thing he was supposed to do was check out my headlight and give me a free estimate on what it would cost to fix. At no time was he to do anything else at all to my vehicle other than that without calling me first. After he informed me of what he was in the middle of doing and how much I had to pay, I abruptly told him not to do ANYTHING else... and that I would take it back to my mechanic; who, coincidently, he knows. After telling me that he lied about the estimate so that I'd leave my car overnight, he told me my mechanic was a "idiot" and that "he didn't know anything about cars." So, to summarize, I asked the mechanic for a free estimate on repairing a headlight...which he agreed to do. But... The following day, he informed me that the estimate would be $75...and that the reason he lied was because if he'd told me it was going to cost me, that I wouldn't have left my car at all. He lied again and told me he'd already taken the cover off the timing belt, saw that it needed to be replaced, and that he was right in the middle of the repair. None of what he said was true. He charged me for what we agreed would be a free estimate. He didn't remove the cover, he wasn't in the middle of any repair...and it didn't need to be replaced. Look people...unless you're a friend of, or related to the mechanics working here, they will most likely try to lie and cheat you out of hundreds of dollars. Simply put, these people are criminals and should not only be shut down, but brought up on charges of theft, grand larceny and destruction of private property. There are several other complaints on Yelp about this place, very similar to mine...I've also spoken to many people who have had the same experience there, with mechanics not only lying and overcharging customers, but deliberately causing damage to motor vehicles so they wouldn't pass inspection...that's not only dispicable, its criminal. But sadly, it happens all to often, The whole experience of having my car "held hostage" was a friggen nightmare...and if this review can prevent those cockroaches from doing something like this to one other person...than Yelp has done its job. Something similar happened to me here like in Claudy P.'s review. I have been coming here for a while also. I took my vehicle here to this place so they can check out the brakes. They fixed them. But then they would keep going back to not staying firm and it taking longer to stop. They told me the brakes keeps going back to feeling soft because I need a new proportioning valve. I took my car to another repair shop in Malden who did get great reviews here on yelp, so they can check it out to see if I really need a proportioning valve. They discovered that Tiger didn't do some of the work that was on the receipt. Please do not take your vehicle here. I am regretting going to this place for my inspection....it' s been a nightmare since! They rejected the inspection stating I needed 4 new tires and rear brakes. They were very pushy about leaving the car to get the repairs done there that day. I told them I had my own mechanic. I got a "second opinion" from someone else and they said they would have passed the inspection. Needless to say, I got pulled over in the interim and when I went to get my registration, it was nowhere to be found! I knew they had to have it. I went back demanding the registration and was told they did not have it and that they probably just scanned the sticker. I told them I remember giving it to them as it is required by state law. One of the guys then told me to just go on-line and get a duplicate one for free....are you serious?? nothing is free at the RMV. My husband was irate and called them...they hung up on him (nice customer service!!!) He called back and they mysteriously found my registration!! So pissed off....dont even waste your time and energy on this place! and I agree with the other reviewer that the fact I am a woman had alot to do with what went on. read more

Stay away from this business. By far the worst experience dealing with vehicle repairs I have ever had. Basically, I went to this place for annual Motor Vehicle Inspection. I was told my car failed the inspection and need change the intake air filter and pipes for $300. They passed the test for me after then, a week or so later, my check engine light came on one night. I took car to dealership they said I was crazy, they changed the cheap parts will not last and is not efficient they ripped me off. Horrible! read more

To follow up on my previous review, the dealership I usually take my car to found that someone had replaced my brand new brake pads and rotors with worn and damaged ones. (This was discovered after I wrote my first review.) I think it might be a good idea to have this place investigated. read more
