I came here during my lunch hour because my coworkers all raved about this place. Banh mi is one of my favourite childhood meals so I'm particular about it but always excited to try a new place. The shop is in a grungy plaza, and inside there's a little gambling area which is very Vietnamese. I ordered and had my sandwich within 10 minutes. I was expecting a lot more for their special $9.50 sandwich. - it didn't taste authentic. It was missing both pate and the signature banh mi butter - there weren't a lot of vegetable fillings - the grilled meat was cooked really well! - the banh was toasted and warm when I received it It was a small sandwich and I expected a bit more flavour and filling for the price.

Craving a banh mi sandwich and did a search close to me and landed here. The place is small and in a strip mall. I was surprised it was here for years without my knowledge. It's clean and kind of cute. I got my sandwich and bubble tea to go. There are spots to sit inside. I was greeted by a friendly worker who explained what the sandwiches had inside in more detail. Ordered their house special and it was made quickly. First of all, I noticed the bread. It was delicious. Fresh and warm and just the right amount of toast. The meat and veggies seasoned well. The jalapeño was a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. Also, they added a fried egg that mixed well with the ingredients. Bubble tea selection is limited I ordered the peach. I enjoyed it very much and will order again.

The banh mi here is okay. I ended up picking up the #1 house special for $8.50. The meat floss and grilled pork was a little too sweet for my liking but the lemongrass flavors on the grilled pork was delicious. The egg was just a typical fried egg. I don't think they toast your bread here either. It is a bit of a smaller banh mi with less filling than you get at best baguette or any other banh mi shops in the area, but being a small business I didn't expect anything fancy. The interior has a pretty cute mural and the lady working there was nice

I was in the mood for a Banh Mi sandwich and found the Tiger Banh Mi shop. They have a large menu of various versions. I finally settled with the #4 the Grilled Chicken. The bread was soft and it was loaded with chicken and many veggies. Overall a good Banh Mi sandwich. I would agree with some of the other reviews that the sandwich lacked a little flavor or sauce. The sandwich prices are very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and quickly greeted me with a smile. The interior has nice decor, they have some seating inside, they also have digital poker machines within an adults only section. They have many bubble tea options, sodas and beer. even desserts. It's worth the stop. I will stop by at some point again.

Bread is good, crisp and slightly doughy in the center.

Banh mi here is all about the bread, fresh veggies and light Mayo. The sauce covers all the pickled carrots and daikon. Cucumber is the perfect crisp thin slice. I tried the bbq, chicken, pork and meatball. Ordered all (4) so I could try a variety. The chicken was so dry it tasted exactly like the roasted pork. I was expecting some juicy thigh or breast marinated but it was sliced thin like deli sandwich meat. The photos show the pork banh mi as being full of large pieces of roasted pork. Again a few thin slices of pork and the flavor was very subtle. The best thing out of the 4 I ordered was the meatball. It had a bit of pepper and the meatballs were tiny and large enough to actually get a bite of meat. It's really a shock to have a banh with various proteins with none of the proteins standing out in portion or quality. Overall not worth ordering again. The bread is good but you can pick that up at an Asian grocery store or bakery and put veggies and cucumber in yourself.

This was my first time having this place, and it was bomb, the flavors were immense and I really loved it, fresh and good. Definitely coming back here again! Service was an 8/10 and the vibe was nice, they have a karaoke studio too pretty chill place.

I'm been searching for strong delicious coffee for a while now…read more I recently was in starbucks near my house, not where I would want to go for coffee. I asked them this question, and they said you could get a latte or americano. How would so much milk equal strong coffee, anyways it didn't work out. I recalled this place, and that they have Vietnamese coffee.... Now that is strong, and also sweet which is just what I've been searching for. So we came by. My wife got a fruit tea which she said was really good, and I got my strong coffee. I was slightly concerned that it would be so strong my stomach would have issues, but this wasn't the case. It was perfect and also not crazy sweet, like I've had before. They really know what they are doing. The guy at the counter was serious looking but also friendly. The people behind us brought him flowers and then he had a big smile. Sooo, I you want to see a smile bring him some flowers, it was also valentines day, to be honest. If you like coffee with actual flavor, come here. I'm wondering if they sell decaf. I do really want to come back and get some salted egg cream!

Came here for a refreshing beverage after doing my grocery shopping…read more The parking for this place is pretty non existent. Maybe five spots. The inside is very small so not a place to linger or come with a group. I ordered a strawberry matcha and it was so good. The service was great. The people were friendly enough and they had my drink ready pretty quickly. The parking means I won't be back as often but I will be back occasionally.

My wife loves their bubble waffles! Toasty and yummy, pulling off those bubbles one by one and savoring each luscious bite! Unfortunately, they have been out of the waffle batter for some time which I believe they told us was coming from Taiwan. We will keep trying, because they are so good. Always a friendly and helpful crew working behind the counter. Most times it's crowded and you can expect a short line, but it moves along quickly. They also have an order board you can use. A few small tables are available if you choose to sit inside, but you're at the Bridgeport mall - find a seat outside to people watch and get some fresh air!

Then, the Freshly Squeezed Lemon Black Tea with boba and less ice became my go to drink. It had a good amount of lemon flavor, and the tea was both sweet and a little tart. I liked the flavor of the boba, but the texture has been inconsistent. Sometimes it's perfect and other times it seems slightly overcooked. That's why I rate the drinks as 4 stars instead of 5 stars. The service has been consistently 4 stars as the drinks were prepared quickly even if there was a line. The space can feel small if there are other customers waiting with limited seating. It's a good boba spot if you need a refreshing drink while you shop.

There are two kiosks for easy ordering. We walked in just a couple of minutes after they opened on a Monday and were the first customers inside. House Blend Pearl Milk Tea, 10% Sweet, 30% Ice w/ Boba ($6.25) - I'll start by saying that 10% is not nearly enough for this drink, totally unlike the Lynnwood location where anything over 10% sweet is cloyingly sweet for me. I ended up asking for a small cup of syrup on the side and titrated the drink until I thought it was sweet enough. My guess is that it took until around 50% sweet. With that out of the way, the flavor is identical to what I've had before. Rich malty taste with plenty of body. It's a very solid milk tea. This hechalou only has sugar syrup soaked boba, not a choice of honey or brown sugar boba as in Lynnwood. My guess is this is one of the reasons why the sweetness level is so different. Probably honey and/or brown sugar soak adds more sweetness to the drink than whatever soak they use here. The boba is a little firmer than Lynnwood and isn't as flavorful. Still miles ahead of most boba shops in the US though. Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Boba Rating: 4.5/5 Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea, 10% Sweet, 30% Ice w/ Boba ($7.05) - Again, this one isn't sweet enough and I had to add more sugar. The drink itself is strongly flowery, again very consistent with the other location. It's a very solid drink. Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 This location of Hechalou still serves some top tier drinks. I'll just have to remember the next time I visited to get 50% sweet rather than 10%. Bathrooms - Single unisex room.

The matcha flavor is very earthy and leans more bitter than sweet, which I personally enjoyed. However, if you're not a fan of strong earthy matcha flavors, you may want to try a different waffle option instead. The tea was really good as well. I ordered mine with regular boba, but I've heard their jelly is actually the highlight, so I'll definitely have to try that next time. The cafe seems really popular with families and is also a great spot to hang out with friends. If you prefer not to order at the counter, they also have kiosks available for self-ordering.
