We are lucky to have a spot in GN like Tiger Sushi and would love for it to succeed . Food is good. Nice ambiance and perfect for a date night. However, portions are small for the price. For example, $6 for a tiny cup of miso soup and green tea mini cup for $4 whereas in most other sushi restaurants it's given for free. Hand rolls were super small as well. I was amazed how delicious and fresh sushi was which I didn't expected such a supreme quality of sushi in my town. I tried so many different sushi places over the course of my life and I can say this is one of the best places I have ever tried and it makes me so happy I find the place right around the corner in my house. Roll and nigiri, rice was perfectly cooked and fish was so fresh it was melting in my mouth. I know some people might say it is little pricy but If you are a truly sushi lover, it is totally worth to spend. There is way more expensive places if you want to have similar quality of sushi. Stopped by for a quick lunch, it was really quick service and the waitress was incredibly nice and attentive! We've passed by it a few times and always loved the decor outside looking in. The tigers and flowers in the front window are so cute. The whole place felt really nice, it all felt really new, clean, and well maintained. The food was great, fish really fresh and tasty! The rolls have the perfect amount of rice, which I love because I find many sushi places wrap with too much rice. This was perfect! The tempura vegetables with the lunch special were delicious, my favorite was the huge mushroom piece and the asparagus. Their sake is also incredibly smooth, had a glass to go with lunch. Had not been in the area for over a month. Was happy to see its finally open! They have a special passover menu which I was happy to see. They aren't serving rice or alcohol and have a special kosher soy sauce. Believed she mentioned it being made in house. The service was great they were very attentive and knowledgable. Hidden gem in the heart of great neck. This is one of the few restaurants that offers temaki (hand rolls). The fish is so fresh it's still flopping. The staff is very attentive and considerate. Overall it offers a clean and mindful aesthetic. Very demure. read more

New spot and yet another Japanese restaurant in an area crowded with mediocre variants of the same schtick. The food was alright nothing spectacular, prices however are WAY too ambitious. Given the size of the restaurant the rent should be quite high, I assume they won't be open long unless they reaccess the pricing structure and a somewhat unimaginative menu. This is a one and done deal foro me as the overall experience was underwhelming and the quality is no different yet lower cost next door, next next door, across the road, down the street etc. read more

My sister took me out for my birthday, and I requested sushi. She suggested Tiger sushi, a new spot not too far from where we are. The moment I saw the sign with the adorable Tiger I was sold. The lighting, temperature, sound, tables, chairs, and all the ambience was perfect. It isn't like typical sushi spots - very modern and well-lit. The music was at a good level. The server and the hostess were very attentive and kind. They refilled water as needed and even brought out more ginger for my sis. The food. The food!!! It was delicious. Everything was delicious. The karaage crunch and taste was none I've had before. Didn't feel greasy, and the spice on the coating as well as the sauce on the side def delivered the heat. The Tiger roll had great flavors that worked really well together. The sashimi and sushi was perfect - the big pieces of fish tasted fresh and just melted in my mouth. The shishito peppers could've been more charred and crisp, but they were still tasty and came with a side of yuzu salt. I wonder if adding some lime salt with it could enhance the flavors even more? I came home and raved about this new place to my husband and children. Our family will definitely be going together very soon!! read more

Tiger has great quality fish and had an opportunity to make a real dent in the nasseau market. There are 4 other sushi spots on middle neck alone! Unfortunately their prices are just way too high. $16+ for a 6 piece roll is egregious! Go to Tara sushi in little neck for the same quality at half the price. Go to Kissaki in Manhasset for the same quality and 25% cheaper. Id encourage management to consider supply chain changes to bring prices in line with NYC comparables. Top locations in NYC- Noz Market, Sushi Ann are meaningfully cheaper. read more
