It's hard to find a place to take 3 kids under 5 yrs old. On most days there is plenty of room and no one cares how loud or crazy my little ones are. I love me some late night TJs. I had picked up my SO from the airport at 9pm, and was hangering for dinner so we drove right over to here. There were still a decent amount of people, though we were 45 minutes from closing, but the staff were friendly, welcoming, and quick to send our food out. As a hot sauce fanatic and taste bud destroyer, I am always at the far end of the sauces, looking for the most flavorful spice. Every single label lists the ingredients, which I truly appreciate, so I know if I'm getting a kick from the pepper or from vinegar. I especially love that you can buy these sauces to take home. I usually get 3-4 and taste each one with a chip before deciding which will go all over my food. The SO unfailingly gets the blackened chicken nachos with everything on it. I was feeling burrito-y, so I got the beef burrito and added my spicy sauce of choice, a naga jolokia masterpiece. TJ burritos always come grilled on the outside, which means you get an extra crunch when you sink your teeth it. It definitely sets it apart from other tex-mex chains, and I love it. I also love the crisp fresh jalapenos used, instead of vinegar-ed, soggy jarred ones. This location is unfailingly clean, and I always feel comfortable sitting at any of the tables, because staff clear and wipe down pretty immediately. I wish we had Tijuana Flats in Texas! I know, it's ~another Tex-Mex chain~ but it's super friendly to groups and dietary restrictions with great prices and huge portions! The staff here was SO friendly! It was a very rainy and stormy week that I visited and there were lots of grumpy Floridians everywhere else we went. They greeted me right when I entered and when I told the cashier that it was my first visit, she gave me a quick rundown. The beans are all vegetarian which is a rarity in Mexican outlets. You can basically build your own meal in whatever vessel you want (burrito, taco, nachos, etc.) and can add sides or not. They flaunt their salsa bar and rightly so. There are several options available in varying spice levels for even the most picky eaters. I decided to try most all of them on a burrito bite by bite. And they don't care! They brought around samples to everyone that was dining in which was a nice surprise as well. If I hadn't been overstuffed with a burrito, the churro would've been ordered for dessert. We had someone double park behind us and got stuck sitting in the parking lot for about 20 minutes. I wasn't going to give them 5 stars at first, when my visit began. We got here and it was nice looking, kind of like a fun version of Lime. We ordered our food, blackened chicken salad bowl, and a beef chimichanga in a flour tortilla. Soda and a wine. The sauce selection was cool, small little cups for them. But they do the job. Her salad came out just right, my chimichanga was on a whole wheat tortilla instead of flour one. I explained it was supposed to be flour. The manager, Adam, took care of the situation immediately and friendly. I won't go into details on what they did, the important thing is they went above and beyond any expectations I had. They won a return customer. Since this was my first experience here, that was a good thing. We also noticed how they were very accommodating to other guests. Asking if they needed a refill and getting it for them, instead of the guest going to get it themselves. Friendly greetings to entering guests. It's great. The staff is always friendly, the food is always good, and I appreciate the fact that they have a light selection for those of us that are trying to watch our weight, but still want to go out with everyone. Their hot sauce bar is killer with over 20 sauces ranging from mild and sweet to tangy and hot. I'm also a hot sauce freak sooo that already pulled me in. Jason's mom sauce and smack my ass are my favorites. The jerk chicken tacos are so underrated and is the best thing they've added to the menu. Get them on flour not corn so they don't fall apart. After having a fabulous Maui taco from a food truck at the beach today, we were still in the mood for Mexican food. So I Yelped someplace close to our hotel. Tijuana Flats sounded like it fit the bill. We were met by a very friendly young lady who showed us the ropes. As it was our first time, she offered complimentary chips and guacamole. We tried some as we decided on our order. My husband had to hunt down a salt shaker as the guac was very under-seasoned. We ordered two different items to share so we could get a sampling of the menu. We chose a chicken quesadilla and a carnitas burrito. Both were served with an abundance of tortilla chips. Portions were decent sized but everything lacked flavor. Not just salt but where was the seasoning? The pork was tender but for all we could tell it was simmered in water. The chicken had a touch more flavor but not much. I had a tasty sangria and my husband enjoyed a draft beer. There is a cute hot sauce bar with "saucy" names. But we wanted more of a salsa with our food, which was brought to us. Also, lacked seasoning. We fought over the salt shaker the entire meal. Maybe we just ordered wrong. There appear to be many repeat customers. We may try on our next visit to Florida, if only to try a couple ground beef tacos.
