I've never had an issue with this place! Corona Premiere on draft which isn't common so it's cool that they've got it! Dining in is kind of awkward since there's never really anyone in there but the employees are always nice to me. I've had some takeout orders too and the quality matches. The person i was with didn't really enjoy the burrito but I've always liked mine so giving it a try is worth it. Theres a reward when you sign up for a free burrito or dos tacos with a drink purchase so just try that if you're on the fence!

I wish I could say more about t flats. The store was clean the staff was nice the food was good. There was tonnnnns of take out orders but there was no one inside. There were two other couples besides us, it took about 15 mins to get our food, normally our food doesn't get put behind all the take outs but oh well. The food was still good and I'm sad the other location on congress is gone so this is my only local spot.

The food is pretty good but it was kind of just thrown together. My BF got the bangin chicken burrito and it was just thrown into the box. But he said it was still good. I got the shrimp bowl and it was pretty good. The rice was ok but everything else was good in the bowl. They have super yummy queso.

I can't believe I haven't been here before and I've lived here for almost 5 years!!! The restaurant is kind of tucked in, in the plaza behind pollo tropical and since I never go south on jog road past that, I've never even seen this, so if you're anything like me, make the drive past that and stop on over. The interior is ample and has lots of funky art and a great hot sauce bar with home made sauces! Bottle sauces, get the eff outta here!! Sauces range from sweet and savory, to vinegary, and then hot. So many choices!! I opted to only four. Lol. I will definitely try them all on my future visits. Btw Thursdays are $7.99 bowls!! Yay Anyway, the portions here are HUGE, So make sure you come hungry because you will definitely leave stuffed. I had the carnitas burrito and it was good, but I didn't realize they have rice in them and they have a lot of rice in it with beans with meat veggies and the kitchen sink!! Bahahaha it's a lot. My husband had the soft tacos and I took a bite, they were super delicious. My son had their kids taco and he said it was a little spicy for him, but he kept going back for more bites because according to him, it was so good. :) We will definitely be back to try other options, this place blows chipotle or lime outta the water!! Btw, the staff is awesome too and a little detail I absolutely loved was I asked for a beer with lime, and they didn't touch the lime. They put it in a sort of contraption that didn't require Hands and it pushed the lime all the way in. Loved loved loved that! Even before the pandemic it always grossed me out that they would use their fingers to do that, because lord knows where they have been. If not for anything else, you have to go for this reason alone!!

    Mystery taco

Ever hear of the Crisco Kid? This taco contains Crisco's cousin "Valvoline" , yah, the motor oil. Delivery was seamless and the driver prompt and courteous. This is where the adventure begins. As I opened the bag I found my 4 tacos nestled in two separate containers. For 30 freaking dollars, it better be nestled... Let me digress, these "tacos" were, I'm assuming, aborted from a chalupa of sorts. The meat, unidentified to this date, was coated in a viscus liquid other wise knows as previously stated "Valvoline". The taco was heavy, but not in a good way. It was a saturated chupacabra and was in need of a stake to the heart. The mixture of lettuce and tomato with this oil pit just made it difficult to identify the meat mixture from the other toppings. The myriad of ingredients would have been best identified by a medical examiner doing an autopsy prep. Yes, I took a bite. Yes, it was nasty. Yes, I threw them away. No, I won't call them again.

So yummy! Came in for some dinner and had the best time. I ordered the new shrimp bowl which was amazing and the crispy shrimp tacos as well! The staff here is amazing. So attentive and responsive. I was so pleased with my experience. The staff alone is why I will return here. Food was quality, loved it so much.

From the moment I walked in the door I was warmly welcomed with hello and it was such a great feeling. This was my first time here and I really didn't know what to expect and everybody was so welcoming and educating me on what they do and what they have, with the different items on the menu. I decided on the pork tacos, and burritos and wow let me tell how delicious they were. The manger Mike and assist from Juan were fabulous and helping me pick out the different hot sauces to pair with the food! I got home and opened it all and the smell was intoxicating! The pork was flavorful and tender, all of the ingredients just worked perfectly! This was my first time here and will be back to try all the other items!

I'm in Florida visiting family and stumbled on this place by accident. The hospitality is outstanding! I received assistance with my order. I was also eating with my eyes and tried to order multiple items. They suggested I order the crispy shrimp tacos and if I still have space to come back and order . They were 100% correct. These aren't the normal small tacos , they were big tacos and were loaded with shrimp. This place is a cross between chipotle , Moes & the Chick-fil-A hospitality and service. They bring the food to your table. They come and check on you.

Delicious food! The staff was very sweet and went over the top to make it a great experience. The "Hot Bar" is great! I'd suggest "Jason's Mom", it was amazing.

Solid Florida and Southeast Taco and Burrito chain. Casual environment. Had a ground beef and blackened chicken taco. Tacos a 2X the size of a Taco Bell and much better quality. You get what you pay for. Also had small cup of cilantro lime rice and an unsweetened ice tea. Tijuana Flats is unique that they have numerous types of salsas from mild to medium to hot and they name them funny names. They serve alcohol too. Have a good rewards program as well.

Came here for an Elite Week special event, so I got to try a few things on the house. First off, I will say that the place is very nice looking, clean, good lighting (not too much, not too little). There's a salsa bar with various salsas you can try on your food, and the salsa bar is very clean. The young woman who took my order was super nice and friendly. What's extra nice about this place is even though you order at a counter, they bring you your food to the table, and then they come around to see if everything is ok or see if you need a drink refill, like at a regular (non-fast-food) restaurant. So I got the "Dueling Quesos" to start. Basically chips (a LOT of chips) and 2 types of queso. The white queso I thought was pretty bland, but the orange queso wasn't bad and had a little kick. Well, at least it had some flavor. Then I had the pork tacos, which were ok. Not great, but ok. Then I had the chimichanga. That was pretty good, and a decent size. Had a nice sauce on it. Overall, pretty tasty and filling. Is this place a great Mexican restaurant? Definitely not. But if you're looking for an inexpensive, quick, Mexican-ish meal, this is 1000 times better than Taco Bell. And better quality than most fast food places. You could do a lot worse.

The interior decor may have changed but my opinion of this place hasn't. The decor is tex-mex cute and colorful. The service was friendly but absolutely clueless. The food was reasonably priced for portion size but the quality was really low. We enjoyed the complimentary basket of fried flour tortilla chips and the salsa was basic but okay. The Carne Asada Nacho platter was disappointing in the ingredients. It was supposed to have guacamole on it but it was more of an avocado cream and very liquidy. The asada meat was seasoned well but it was chewy in a bad way. The chicken burrito was heavy but full of too much rice and it was lacking seasoning. The Tamale Platter was nice and freshly made. The rice and beans on the side was not housemade but from a can. I think the new owners are trying to cut too many corners and will not get repeat customers. There was just nothing special about anything at this place and even their only hot sauce that can be added for some heat to the meal is a watered down green tomatillo mild sauce or a red pepper mild sauce which both are served in a cold squirt bottle unless you pay almost $2 for a small roasted jalapeño. I will pass on a return visit and look for new authentic Mexican fare.

The interior has gotten a lot nicer. The walls and seating are all creatively painted with vibrant murals and decor scattered throughout. I recall it being more shack-like in the past. This location has it's old time Florida charm. I love the updates. This was my first time exploring the meats and fish at Lupita's. I went with a carne asada/steak sope and a fish taco. My bestie went with a carne asada chimichanga, chicken taco, and a horchata. They started us out with homemade chips and salsa. The shell to the carne asada sope was crunchy and homemade, flavorfully topped with a medley of freshness -- pico de gallo, lettuce, salsa, and avocado. I tried a bit of my friend's horchata and that is absolutely delish. Lupita's is still legend of SoFlo Mexican spots to check out. Cheers!
