It was started in Winter Park, Florida back in 1995 by Brian Wheeler. From there, it grew through first central Florida and then throughout the southeast. Again, this is a good overall location with friendly service and good food. I had a bowl and my daughter went with their tacos. We both enjoyed our meals. Tijuana Flats delivers a pretty good meal, especially considering that it comes from a fast-casual type place. Hadn't been in a few years!! Came here a couple Tuesdays ago and had great food to take back with me to work. The guy reminded me it was taco Tuesday (which is a great deal) he was very kind to help out with the menu. I ended up getting the quesadilla with blackened chicken. I got my coworker the bowl with hot honey chicken (limited time). We were both very happy with our food. DO NOT LEAVE with out trying the hot sauce bar. Stopped in and enjoyed their Saturdaze deal. The restaurant wasn't too busy so we were able to order right away. The staff were so friendly and did a great job taking our order and bringing it to our table without too much of a wait. The portions were sizable and we got to take some left overs. I do not live in Florida, but every time I'm here I come to Tijuana Flats. This is still some of the best Tex-Mex food around. The staff is always really really friendly. This location specifically has always been excellent. The portion sizes are very large and we love all the different sauces they have available. Jason's Mom sauce is my favorite. I went around to the pick up side and gave them my name, but it appeared my order wasn't prepared until I got there. The person I spoke with (I think she was the manager) didn't smile or appear to be friendly at all and I probably waited an extra 10 minutes. It's taco thursdaze! I Decided to come out to this location for their special today which is $7 burritos or bowls with a drink and chips ! It was really appetizing and delicious. Bowl features a great mix of rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, and whatever meat you would like. In this case I decided to get the chicken bowl and that hit the spot! Service was great as always, but maybe it's also because they know me since I'm there so often?! I love literally everything that Tijuana Flats has to offer! I stopped by and got the Queso Blanco Carnitas Chimichanga with chips and salsa! I haven't had this yet so I was so excited to try it and now that I haven't tried it, im dreaming about it because it was soooo delicious! I also ordered a Mango White Claw to wash it down with! I didn't realize that they served beer and seltzers so that was exciting to know about! This Tijuana Flats is located in Hunters Creek plaza, it's super easy to get too and parking is easy! When I first walked in, I was greeted and I grabbed a menu to see what I wanted. The ambiance was great, they have a bunch of awesome paintings and gives off an almost cartoonish vibe! My favorite thing is that they have a Hot Sauce Bar with I think 15 different sauces! I always have to get the "Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally" sauce! 3.75 stars! Visited for the first time last night and not bad. The young lady at the register was very friendly and our order came out fast. We enjoyed the chicken nachos and wings. Hunter's Creek location. I usually never complain about this establishment, but today the service was a little off, several points to bring up, to begin with, I entered the establishment with my puppy, a hypoallergenic service dog, weighing at 7.5 lbs, which the staff seen upon my entry, clearly a lady that was sitting down with no more food on her plate stepped out of the restaurant to call management and complain about my puppy. After I paid, the manager approaches me with my food with distaste and states that the puppy cannot be in there unless he was a service dog because he Can in trouble with the department of health, which makes no sense. Lol. Usually I see people bring the lie pups in and sit in the same corner I sat in, especially with the heat we are currently experiencing. The way he approached my daughters and I did not make us feel comfortable and we're forced to have our lunch outside in our vehicle. If I would've known my puppy, regardless of being a certifying service dog, was not welcomed, I would've taken my money elsewhere!! But no, he waited for me to pay and to bring my food to the table to then tell us. Again, he saw us enter the establishment. And I refuse to put a jacket on my pup in this heat. A simple question upon entry would've sufficed and I would've provided his certification info. I will not be coming back in the future. At least not to this location. In addition, there are no signs posted anywhere. I've taken pictures to prove. In addition: I ordered three orders of chicken flautas and some of the flautas had no chicken in them, serves a spoon of guac and a spoon worth of pico de gallo.... This is never an issue.... Flavor-wise its a 4 just because Tex Mex from Texas is too good. The restaurant is always clean and the staff are genuine and helpful. We got to-go today & our vegan burritos were made perfectly. If you dine in they will refill drinks and check if you need anything. Great price for the amount of food! Around $7/person and I believe you get chips with every entree. This Tijuana Flats is my least favorite location, they take forever. I've ordered from here multiple times because it's the closest one to me, and each time they take 10-20 minutes longer than the time the food is expected to be ready by. I did curbside pickup today and waited 12 minutes in my car before going inside. Last time I did inside pickup and had to sit there for 25 minutes after arriving 10 minutes last what the pick up time was and they weren't even busy. The food is as good as any other location, but the waits for pick ups is just ridiculous. read more

This place was a great stop. You order at a counter and they bring it out to you. Plenty of options to choose from. Tacos, nachos,burritos and more. I we went simple with tacos and nachos. I got two tacos. The hard shells have a wide flat bottom and they fill them up nice. At first I thought I would need more but two was perfect. They have a small queso option. It was a yellow cheese but tasty. The nachos were a solid pick as well. They have a buffet of hot sauces from some sweet sauces to extremely hot and an option to buy your own bottle of you like. The place is pretty hip inside and it was clean. Even as a franchise it was still a very solid stop and we will be coming back. read more

Today I made an online order for pick up and the order was going to be ready fairly quickly about 15 mins. When I had a coworker pick up my Order unfortunately the order was incorrect. I came back to Tijuana and explained to them my Order was incorrect. They promptly address my concerns and offered to correct the problem. The the on duty manager came up to me and apologized for the error and offered me something else at no cost. As I was thankful I declined a free meal but she did give me extra chips and queso... This place nails it on every aspect; food, service, and price. As soon as we walked in I felt welcome. They have clear instructions on the wall: grab a menu, order, take a seat and they will bring out your food. The menu is quite large and has pretty much any Mexican dish you could want; tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, enchiladas, and chimichangas. I spent probably close to 10 mins looking everything over before going up to the counter. I ordered a duo with a chipotle chicken quesadilla, carnitas burrito, and chips for $10.99. The girl ringing us out was super friendly. There were a ton of options to customize each dish. She knew everything extremely well and took the time to patiently go thru each one with us. I even got to sample the lemonade, which was the most perfect combination of tart and sweet. I highly recommend! Since it was our first time there they gave us a free appetizer of chips with salsa, guac, and queso. By the time we finished ordering and before we even sat down they were already bringing it out. That's how quick the service was. And the chips were still warm from the fryer! The entrees came out maybe 5 minutes later. Everything looked and tasted great.
