It's finally daylight when I get out of work on Sundays, so back to picking up dinner at Tijuana Flats for my favorite shrimp lime bowl. It's been a while but the meal was totally different. Very good, very tasty, but not what I remembered. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, the guacamole and queso was the usual yummy. But I don't remember the corn or cabbage and no lime. Great friendly service, restaurant is always clean, we miss the funny stickers below on the customer service wall, and our meals are always served hot & fresh even with all my dietary necessary changes!! On our travels we have stopped at many TF and other Mexican fast food restaurants and this particular location is always the tops! This particular Tijuana Flats location was an overall positive culinary experience. For fast casual (kind of a newer and maybe fancier way of saying fast food), Tijuana Flats pretty much is a good choice for a meal and one that I think that you would be overall satisfied with. The service here was friendly and professional. I ended up going with a burrito and it was an overall good choice and a choice that I would definitely recommend. Tijuana Flats is a Florida born business and have grown considerably since they opened their first location in the Orlando, Florida area. In case you are unfamiliar with Tijuana Flats, let me again reiterate that it is a fast casual type place and the food is pretty Americanized and nothing close to authentic Mexican food. It has been awhile since I ate at a Tijuana Flats. What I remember from last time, the food was on a higher level of deliciousness compared to Moe's or Chipotle's, the sauces were amazing, and I loved the art decor of interior. The question is if this location, the Tijuana Flats (which I will now shorthand to TF for the rest of the review) located in the shopping plaza on the eastside of I-95 along Palm Bay Rd., the plaza with LA Fitness and Hooters, lives up to the hype. Let's start with ambiance. The walls were painted a wild punk and skater vibe mixed in with some Mexicali. It definitely fit the vibe TF had as their food had the same punchline. For lunch, I ordered an appetizer and main course: the Dueling Queso Chips and the Steak Flautas. The chips were a bit oversalted but the two different cheeses, one being regular nacho cheese and the other being blanco, gave more options when mixed with the hot sauces they featured. The Steak Flautas were amazing as they come off like Mexican egg rolls but with steak. I dipped some of them in the two quesos and added different hot sauces and were given different flavor bytes too. Pricewise to flavor, it was a-okay. The food was not as amazing as I had it last time, but to be fair, my palette has evolved since then. The price is $$ so food is around $10 to $20. On a sidenote: the men's restroom was clean and stocked, but I was the only customer there at the time too. Ultimately, I will give this TF an a-okay, a three out of five stars as in it is average, which is not bad. Will I go back? Of course if I have a hankering for TF or if I have a hankering for Tex Mex and they are nearby. I will try more of their options and give them a more fair review in the future but if the food and service are on par with today's, there will be no change. read more

The food is great. Excellent and exactly what I expect from here. They are pretty quick about getting the food out once you order. The location seems to be pretty steady and busy. People coming in to order and then online orders being made and sat on the shelf for pick up. I love the salsa bar. I'm so glad that it is back. During Covid, they had removed it. You would need to ask for the ones you wanted. So I've been here several times and the staff isn't really friendly. I've been to another location and they were. After coming here quite a bit, I kind of expect it now. It just seems like they are annoyed. Asking for a refill? Yeah they will get one but not happy about doing so. Second time ordering from this location. First time I ordered the street tacos, they were inedible. From the seasoning on what little meat was on the taco to them being less than half filled. This time I went safer, regular tacos. I mean who can screw that up. Well, TJ Flats, that's who. I ate 2/3 of one and threw out the other two. At least the chips were good. The cashier, the servers, and everyone were kind and friendly, which is essential for me ( and hard to find sometimes!). I come to this location from time to time only because I'm passing right by. The guy manager is horrible. I live an hour away, so when I get my food around 9pm, at 10 pm, the place is closed. I generally order a pint of salsa. They forgot the salsa and I thought, no big deal, I'll tell them the next time I'm in. Little did I know that it would be a big deal to the crappy guy manager. Did I call? Umm, no, it's a 4 dollar thing of salsa. He just made me feel like I was dishonest over a pint of salsa. Also, the last few times I've gotten it, it appears that there are pieces of old soggy chips in it. That's gross. If the chips are so close to the salsa that they can fall in, then move them. Last night, two salads, the slip says they should have pico in them, yet they don't. The lady manager is great! But I love when I get out of my weekly appointment early and can get to Moes. read more

My first visit here was unimpressive. The food was bland even the salsa was bland. The amazing array of hot sauce was not enough to mask the lack of seasoning. Hello salt and pepper would've been just fine. My drink a very watered down lemonade/sweet tea mix even lacked flavor. No hint of tea or lemon. Someone dropped a platter of food in the middle of the restaurant and it took them 5 minutes to clean up the mess. This place is really good for a nice quite sit down lunch it's a very fresh tasting food the vegetables, the meat even tortillas all very flavorful and doesn't leave you barely able to move like a lot of heavier Mexican food ( not that I don't love that kind Mexican food too). Each store exceeds them minium of 10 peices of flair as they like to go above and beyond to really show how happy the store is to be in your city. Stopped by last night on our trip south. All we wanted was a quick bite - not a burger - that would sustain us for the rest of the evening and our trip. Arbitrarily picked T-flats and were very pleasantly surprised. Staff was SUPER helpful and friendly. Food was simply fantastic. I'm a food snob and have my reservations about anything that could be considered fast food. Still, I can certainly acknowledge when such food goes above and beyond anything I would expect. And that was exactly the case here. Everything was very, very tasty. Portion sizes were more than adequate. Prize was very fair. On top of that, they have outdoor seating - which is ideal if you are traveling with a dog (like us) and a kid (also like us). All in all, a perfect stop for us - everything was perfect to the point where it is memorable. Without a doubt, I'd return. You know, this is the best Tijuana Flats location that I've been to. Great food, super friendly service, and so forth. In fact, I've stopped here five times in the last month for lunch. Exceeded my expectations. I had the bean enchiladas which were tasty and much larger than I expected. I didn't need the beans and rice with it but I'm glad I did. Normally I visit the Tijuana flats on New Haven and always nothing short of a greatest experience. However I was extremely disappointed the this Tijuana Flats location did not uphold to the same standards. I ordered online ahead of time so my food would be ready when I get there. I arrived right at pickup time and went to the to-go order pick up location inside the store. I could see my food ready to go on a shelf behind the counter. It was 10 minutes before it was finally given to me, cold. As I was waiting, a crowd of other people waiting on their orders began to form and had the same issue. It seemed as though there were no employees manning the to-go orders at all, yet we were passed by several employees carrying out dine-in orders that were placed well after our to-go orders. When I finally received my order, my burrito bowl was not only cold, but also missing my favorite ingredient, cheese. Heavily disappointed. read more

If you are stopping in for a bite or picking up for a meal, be warned that your food will either be cold, or you will wait in excess of 30 minutes to get it. After the last 2 visits, where they were not busy at all, where the manager on duty was apologizing to each customer for either the wait or condition of the food. We waited 30 minutes, had to ask about our food, which was sitting within view, then it was COLD. They did refund our money but we declined a remake and went to the one on 1-92, the food there was much better and fast! Less than 10 minute ticket time! Food is lackluster at best. No seasonings on any of the meats we tried, even the lime steak. Guess you are supposed to supplement sauces to get a flavor on them. Also the tv showing sports episodes had on a naked football/weightlifer on. My grandkids were a bit uncomfortable with this as was I and the other lady sitting at another table. Seriously? This place got 5 stars? Ok to be fair it wasn't that bad. If chipotle and Taco Bell merged this would be the result with the tilt toward Taco Bell. This isn't necessarily bad. It just means you are going to get the same predictable chain product every time. If you like 40 different flavors of hot sauce (not salsa) then you will like this place. The salsa. Well the salsa had no flavor and was not edible. If you need to have massive heat hot sauce to hide the flavor of entrees that's a bad sign. The rice bowls were very good and tasty. The flautas tasted like a frozen store bought cheese stuffing variety. The fish tacos had a strange bitter sweet sauce that I've never seen on a Taco and ruined the flavor. The chips and guacamole was massive, but again it was store bought or premade bland green dip. It would have gotten 3 stars but all three visits the place was filthy and not having a trash receptacle forces customers to leave the tables dirty. read more
