Parking can be a problem. You have to park in the 7-11 parking lot. The menu is good as well as the services. The prices are not bad. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl. It was plentiful but the teriyaki sauce lacked flavor. My husband ordered a bowl with chicken, beef and shrimp. Not only one of our favorite restaurants, but we don't even live in SLO and talk about this place all the time. Their stir fry's are just perfect. You can put whatever you want in them and it's all cooked perfectly. Half pasta and half rice base & teriyaki sauce is our go to. Also all proteins and veggies are confirmed delicious. This was a fun stop on our road trip. We really enjoyed the options here. Also, the different bowls varied between vegetarian and meat. Service was impeccable. The staff was very patient when we were ordering. They were also able to give us tips on what they suggested. Our only slight complaint is that the bathrooms never locked. One of the best "healthier" options I have been able to find on the road! What a gem and what a mind blowing menu. I am wanting to come back to SLO just to have another experience like what I received at the Tiki Hut. I have minor food intolerance's and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my order was fulfilling my request. The chicken was piping hot and was one of the best pieces of thighs I have ever had. It was not a fatty/gooey mess and was just a wonderful, flavorful piece of meat. The rice was a correct portion size but the vegetables? I got maybe 3 pieces of spinach, one cut-up broccoli, and an inch of zucchini sliced up. I didn't take a picture sadly, so the only time I'd consider coming back is to get a picture of the portion sizes as evidence. Caribbean sauce was alright, but this was a Waste of my money read more

I think this place is worthy of an update and a bump in rating because I find myself coming here more than other fast food rice bowl places like Chipotle or even Poke Chef next door. It's just so simple and so much cheaper. The Caribbean Bowl is still definitely one of the best things on the menu. Chicken is moist, well-seasoned, and nicely sauced over the rice. However, with the generous serving they give you, you might want to ask for a double serving of rice. I never really get anything else because the menu is so hard to read. This is a great new add right by the Cal Poly campus. It is clearly catering to the students. It is not much to look at but serves good, cheap and reasonably fast good. They are similar to the Poke Chef which is across the street in terms of the bowl concept. I got the Caribbean chicken bowl with spinach which was very flavorful and a reasonable portion too. We wanted to ask where a Farmers Market was. We eat clean and healthy and never frequent Fast Food places. The owner of Tiki Hut explained that she offered healthy fast food. The more I talked to her the more I wanted to give it a try. I ordered a Build Your Own bowl with chicken, brown rice, carrots, snap peas, water chestnuts and zucchini. My husband had the Big Luau. Seriously this food was better than Sweet Greens . We eat Sweet Green several time a week. (Hey-we live in LA) Tiki Hut needs to be a national franchise. Run right over to Crystal's place. There's a rumor Tiki Hut will be moving across the street where there is large space for inside seating, and ample parking. I HOPE so! I expect terryaki to always be pretty satisfying however this was not my experience. The boxes it comes in are pretty small but also only a little more than half full. They have pasta and rice bowls and they have beef, chicken, shrimp and I'm not sure but maybe tofu( I don't like it so I don't really pay attention to it). Basically something for everyone! I like to call in my order as they can get busy.....downside is the ringer never seems to be on. Also, parking is not ideal in this center.
