New York Strip Steak and prawns
    Ally Y.

Really great food! The hostess was able to accommodate our change in party size and let us dine outside which was very kind. I ordered from the prix fixe menu and had the clam chowder, steak and prawns, and cheesecake. The chowder was fantastic, would definitely order again. There were clams and a mussel in there still with their opened shells and lots of tasty broth. Quite filling for an appetizer. The steak was good and the prawns were just okay - maybe a little overcooked. The cheesecake brûlée stole the show!! Would definitely eat again in a heartbeat.

We came here on a weeknight looking for a late dinner in South Redondo. They were busy but we fortunately got a table for two without reservations. My daughter and I shared the Caesar Salad and Chicken Paillard. The salad was good. I added the smoked fish which had a slightly sweet taste so it was not my daughter's favorite. The Chicken Paillard was amazing! The jidori chicken is very juicy but the sauce takes it to another level. I would order that dish again. Their staff is very nice and helpful. The server who kept refilling our drinks recommended we order french fries to dip into the chicken paillard sauce since we raved about it. That was a good suggestion since we were sharing the dish. Overall, this restaurant was just our style. It is cozy but elevated, the staff is attentive, and the food and wine are delicious.

Short Rib Pappardelle is a must try. It came out super hot too btw, but our waiter said this dish was his favorite out of the entire place. Definitely lived up to his hype. The portion size of this was also solid and I definitely had to get a box for mine. My wife got the salmon and said it was also excellent. The service was really good too - our waiter was very nice/ efficient, food and drinks came out at a good cadence and even the hostess thanked us as we left. It's got a cool vibe in there too. Two giant large screens with basketball and baseball going on near the bar. Lots of couples eating here and decorated with a trendy ambiance.

Was headed to my first Beachlife Festival but wanted to get a drink (fine, fine, maybe a couple) and some food. Which leads me to trusty Yelp. I haven't been to Riviera Village in years since I had a bf who lived in Redondo but had always loved this part of Redondo as I think it's pretty mellow. My things have changed but still mellow compared to other beach cities. Sat at the bar where I was served by the most knowledgeable bartender ever - Kenneth! Cocktails were great as was the smash burger. Will definitely go back if in the area. Cool spot!

Location is great. The decor is beautiful. Street parking available (4hr parking limit). Staff were super friendly. We came in on a Saturday night. Party of 5. The table we sat at was in a good location. The waiter came in right away to take our drinks and appetizers orders. We waited maybe 15-20mins for the food. Everything tasted wonderfully. My favorite item was the Portobello fries and the sauce it came with. You must try it! It was actually a hit at the table. I had the clams, which are from Washington. The dish was delicious and I enjoyed it very much. It has some tomato like sauce with chorizo hints. It comes with a side of bread to dip in the sauce. It had a very mild hint of spicy. My nose was definitely runny but my taste buds were alive. Unfortunately, as much as I enjoyed the clams, I didn't follow the rule to not eat clams on month that does not end with "er". After I got home, about an hour after eating I was sick and returned the clams to the sewer :/ so I will not be having them again, at least not until after September. The key lime pie was also not the best, I think the chocolate mousse was much better in terms of flavor. Overall, I will definitely stop by again when in the area.

The food here is delicious and they have a great happy hour! The restaurant is beautiful with plenty of seating. Service was wonderful, so friendly and welcoming. We sampled our way through their happy hour menu and one item was more delicious than the next! The prices are extremely fair, the food was made to order quickly and presented beautifully. Also, very kid, friendly, there is something for everyone here. Located just the steps from the beach, this is a wonderful option for dinner in the area, highly recommended!

We came to Salt & Pearl to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. After reading reviews, I came specifically for the Fish & Chips, and they absolutely delivered. But before I get to that, the service deserves a shout-out. From the hostess who greeted us to our server throughout the meal, everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great experience. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked and disappeared fast. Then came the Fish & Chips. The fish was crispy, golden brown, and cooked perfectly. What really surprised me was the portion size. These weren't little pieces of fish hiding under a pile of fries--they were massive pieces of cod. My wife and I couldn't stop laughing at how much fish they served. To top it all off, we shared the key lime pie, and it was outstanding. Smooth, creamy, and the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, parking was easy with plenty of paid options nearby, and every part of the experience felt polished without feeling pretentious. Finding a restaurant that nails the food, service, and overall experience isn't always easy, but Salt & Pearl checked every box for us. Safe to say we've already found a reason to come back. Pro tip: If you're ordering the Fish & Chips, come hungry. Those cod portions are no joke.

The design and ambiance of the place was very modern and felt like a cozy library of a big home type feel. It was very nice architectural design. The lighting design was a nice touch for the beach theme, it felt unique to be seated in that space. The patio outdoor dining was close to the bar and a nice area to view passersby. The food was also delicious. The happy hour menu was priced very well and reasonable with great drinks and food to sample. We had the skewers and the hamachi which were cooked just right. An overall satisfying experience. Recommended for those visiting by the riviera in Redondo Beach.

We came here for an early lunch and enjoyed our service and cocktail drinks. We ordered the Seafood Roll with King Crab, Raw Oysters, Peruvian scallops, Fish&Chips, Clam with Chirizo, Beet Salad, Wasabi Slaw and Caesar Salad. We really enjoyed the Roll, Oysters, Fish&Chips and all the salads. Would recommend! Peruvian scallops are one of my favorite things and I was underwhelmed with the flavor of their preparation. Another miss was the clams. Flavors were spot on but the clams themselves had a mushy consistency. I mentioned it to the bartender and he didn't seem to want to address it. Overall a nice place but I'd skip the last two dishes mentioned above.

One of my favorites in the South Bay. Relatively new. It's a smaller space with a nice ambience. My bf and I love the scallops and oysters here. Ribeye was also really good. We tried the crab claw and it was good but for $7 each we didn't really think they were worth it as they are tiny. One time we got the clam chowder and it was amazing and the last time we went it was watery and tasted like tap water so idk if they changed the recipe. Cocktails are pretty good as well. Bartender will adjust your drink if needed. Cute date night spot.

My husband and I walked by here and saw their prime rib deal on Mondays - $25 for a 10 oz with horseradish and au jus sauce....what a deal! We were also there during happy hour which was awesome; some of the sides we wanted was on it! We got two prime rib cooked medium rare, brussel sprouts ($7), wasabi slaw ($5), and scalloped potatoes ($12 not on the happy hour menu). The meat was cooked perfectly with not much fat on it. The skin was peppery and flavorful and the meat was juicy. I wish the horseradish had more heat to it but understand not everyone may like it that way. My favorite sides was the potatoes and slaw. The potatoes came to us looking like a slice of cake - thick and super buttery. I know they say there's garlic, jalapenos and cheddar in it but the butter reigned supreme. I didn't taste any wasabi in the slaw, but it felt refreshing after eating the heavy potatoes and meat. I couldn't taste the gochujang in the potatoes, but I could taste the bacon! That was delicious. Service was fast - There was only one other table being waited on when we went. Our waters were filled consistently and finished plates were taken away promptly. The space has an "outdoor" area that was blocked off during the day. Perhaps in summer when its warmer they'll open the whole place up? Parking is up and down the street and all metered.

Max and Mat were awesome during our visit. This was our second time here and we came on a Wednesday so we took advantage of the $42 meal. It was perfect. We ordered extra items that were not included in the pre fixe menu. The oysters, wasabi slaw, and focaccia bread were added to our dinner special. We were definitely satisfied with our meal. Ambiance was nice, with your average noise. Thank you for this wonderful meal. We're definitely coming back.

You have to try the warm lobster roll served on a buttery brioche bun. It is an amazing place to order some fresh oysters and just relax.

It's pretty high at peak times ..we ask to be seated in first row of tables on the inside patio. Closest to sidewalk. Place is great food and service. But noise makes conversation difficult. 😀

We stopped by late Saturday night and were able to snag an immediate walk-in at the bar at Hao Peng You, which is the intimate speakeasy portion of Midnight Oil. The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Overall, highly recommend checking out this vibey vintage Taiwanese-inspired speakeasy (that my inner history nerd was so excited about), and I'll definitely be back to try their food items as well as their two other bar/restaurant concepts!
