Was in town for work. Heard about this place from a staff member. Wanted to check this place out myself. My coworker and I went Tuesday evening , the place is super cute w/ some great music. We were sitting at the bar JT and another wonderful bartender were taking care of us. JT was very attentive and welcoming. He made us some awesome cocktails and put in some food orders. Do not step out to get your friends or for cigarettes as you can't even go back to close your tab i almost called the police. Avoid this place at all cost on sundays. Someone recorded him accepting cash and letting people in while telling the rest of us who are respectfully waiting in line its at capacity. The bartenders are not screwing around... the cocktail menu shows a deep understanding of tiki drinks and the care and attention to detail they prepare each drink with is impressive. The house recipes are excellent, but if you want a Fog Cutter or a Singapore Sling they can make that too. Didn't try the sushi, but the crab Rangoon are freaking great and the Pu Pu Platter is a solid interpretation ... though the tips are a little large and the chicken skewers could use some char. The decor is AMAZING. Again, the attention to detail is impressive, especially in the lighting design... orange under- bar lights, soft blue spots at the steal beams so they look submerged. Just a gorgeous place... pics don't do it justice... complete escapism. The music is a very smart mix of Bossa Nova and contemporary lounge. It's not Exotica, but it fits the vibe perfectly... a nice (sort of?) outside the box choice. Over all, great effing joint. Strikes the perfect balance between Tiki camp and upscale bar. Place was packed and found a seat at the bar. From the the food (crab salad), drinks (mai thai), and service (owner came by to say 'hello'), I would strongly recommend Tiki Rock to those in the area. Specifically created an account on yelp because of how laughably bad my service at this restaurant was. First, they placed a shadow charge on our drinks (it wasn't listed on the menu when we ordered) which added $5 to each of our drinks for an "ice fee" (according to the receipt). Then when we tried to bring up this pretty obvious subversion to management, they argued with us for about 10 minutes. I recently sent in an email regarding this matter, I was highly disappointed in this establishment over this weekend. While I understand the pressure of Saint Patricks weekend events, which showed in the very busy atmosphere, the way staff handled the reservation I was a part of was absolutely uncalled for. Previous to this weekend I have been to Tiki Rock a number of times and never had a complaint nor anyone in any of the parties I was a part of. However, the "bouncer" at the front door Saturday night was very rude, sarcastic and unprofessional. I do not feel he represented Tiki Rock in a good light, nor should have been the first person to greet your customers. Following that incident there was a "host" or "manager"(unsure his position) who was also sarcastic, rude and rushing my words prior to hearing what I had to say. The way he spoke to me and others was completely unprofessional. We proceeded to our table and ate and drank, nearly spending $500 and treated how we were was completely disgusting. I chose not to lease on account of it not being my event nor reservation, as someone who once enjoyed this establishment, this weekend left a very poor taste in my mouth as well as others who were there for the first time. Following our interaction at the front we could hear others with just as much frustration with the person at the front. While I understand his job had to be done, I feel Tiki Rock did and injustice to their place of business having his person a their front man. I do not know if I will return and whether your management understands it, i felt it was best to speak on a place i once enjoyed was ruined by what seemed to be Tiki Rock's inability to manage and event as well as operate as normal. read more

Tiki Rock is a great atmosphere! Super fun and inviting. The staff is GREAT. Whether it's Patrick for a good conversation or the other guy who is always dancing and super positive. The owner is super humble, you'll find him working the floor from time to time. The drinks are amazing. A little expensive, but all the juices (and some of the alcohol) is made in-house. You get what you pay for. I don't mind paying a little more for their great drinks. Service from waiter was one of the worst experiences I've had as we never were asked if we needed anything after our initial food/drinks orders, the food got brought out at different times and took extremely long for just sushi orders.. my girlfriends meal didn't even come out until after we paid our bill. Was told the place would be opening at 1130 and took a seat outside. Had to go in to remind the waiter at 1130. He comes out and tells me that the bartender doesn't want to serve outside. What???!!! First, the waiter obviously didn't want to serve outside either (given he didn't know whether we wanted a drink) but while a pandemic rages on, this place doesn't want to serve customers outside. The hostess was extremely rude and our waitress seemed completely out of it. We got to our reservation on time and waited 50 minutes at our table to be served.
