It came with apples, strawberry, marshmallows, and churros. These dipped in the decadent chocolate tasted amazing and was so fun. Sebastian was a great waiter who kept checking in on us. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. Alibi has some fun digital art showing everyone from Snoop Dogg to Whitey Bulger--they really play up the "former jail" vibe. Everything inside is bathed in a reddish light that sometimes changes to purple-ish, and to be honest, it makes the red text on the menu really hard to read. I was sort of happy that my friend wanted to sit outside because the indoor lights were doing a number on my eyes. The outdoor seating area is nice, with patio-style seating and ample space. They even have fire pits, although it wasn't quite chilly enough to turn ours on. Our server was friendly and facilitated not only some birthday tiramisu but also birthday shots for us, complete with a live torching of orange slices to add flavor. We love a little show with our drinks! We shared truffle fries (I enjoyed them) as an appetizer, and my friend had the burrata--which comes with a bacalao empanada, so sadly I wasn't able to try that due to my seafood allergy. I did enjoy the Scampo Duck, although the accompanying veggies were a bit too bitter for me. I enjoyed the Palo, a rum-based passionfruit drink.
