We've stopped here a couple of times. This time we arrived 30 minutes before we needed to start lining up to catch the whale watch boat. We decided since it was 95 degrees and we walked over a mile a drink was warranted. It's seat yourself in which we did. Order drinks at the bar and bring the drinks to your table. This place was a joke. Perfect location to sit and grab a drink by the water but the staff doesn't want to work or make money. We arrived around 2pm and found an open spot for two at the bar. We grabbed our own menus we found strewn across the bar and waited over 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. A bartender came over and looked at us just to ask the group next to us if they were okay on drinks. The group replied yes and he started making small talk with them instead of helping us. Shortly after another bartender walked over only to jump on top of the bar right in front of us. Once she got down she made eye contact with us and walked away. That's when we decided to leave. The only thing this bar seems to have going for it is the location. You'll be able to enjoy the scenery but don't expect good service or maybe any service at all. read more

I stopped by The Landing for drinks on my most recent visit to the area. I'd stayed at a nearby hotel. My fiancée and I had an hour or so to kill before we had to leave for the airport, and my parents were also visiting the area so we wanted a place to gather. The Landing has a prime location. Outdoors near the water on "the long wharf." Possibly since we were going at an off time, they weren't serving food and only had bar service, but we were promptly seated, the bartenders was quick, and seeing that it was difficult for one person to carry all of our drinks, he helped get drinks to our table and such. The cocktails were mostly on the summer-y sweeter end, but were actually well made... They didn't just rely on sugar to make people like them. I had some sort of margarita with a wine float... Delicious. Their drink prices are pretty standard. I'm sure there's a cheaper bar if you search for one, but they're not charging an obscene location markup. If you're looking to enjoy some drinks on the water, The Landing delivers. It's a great place to chill and enjoy nice weather. read more

The Landing has everything it needs to be successful - a prime location right on the water next to where all boat cruises board. It's the perfect spot to enjoy the action/scenery and wait before your cruise. The set up is nice - there are a ton of umbrellas and an outdoor TV. It's fun and busy, and I was happy to have an umbrella especially since the weather was on and off drizzling. We ordered two fishbowls - the Patriot Passion is a pink fishbowl that's delicious. The Blueberry Riptide is a blue fishbowl that looks really beautiful but tastes like chemicals - it was unfortunately not great. The service is very slow because they only have one person managing 10+ tables. He is clearly overwhelmed and can't keep up with all of the orders. He also spent a lot of time chatting, so tables constantly had to flag him down. I'm not sure why they don't hire more staff. Overall, nice vibe and great views. Their online hours state that they close at 11. Our party showed up at 9pm and was turned away because they "didn't have enough service to stay open" and said they were closing early. After 6 years of being in the industry, you should always stay open if you have paying customers. I like the landing but I wouldn't say I LOVE IT. It's also hard to judge right now because they're big thing is the fish bowls they serve and they can't do those during corona. I visited Boston for the first time last weekend, and the only reason I really wanted to come here was because of the fishbowls. Now, fishbowls are hard to find in my opinion. I got super excited knowing they had it, so I practically dragged my friends and cousins to this place. They had multiple fishbowl sizes like mini guppy-the size of a hand held cup ($11), regular guppy-the size of a mini fishbowl *literally* ($17), a larger guppy, shark tank guppy, etc. First off, the bartender came to me once when I wasn't ready and when I was, nowhere to be found. So, I asked the closest person (who turned out to be a waiter) for a Strawberry Margarita regular guppy bowl. I watched him cluelessly make my drink and then 5 mins later the actual bartender came over and remade the drink all in the same bowl. If the guy didn't know how to make the drink, why would you experiment right now? I knew the moment I saw that all happening that I was about to get a very disappointed drink and that's exactly what had happened. Worst strawberry margarita I've ever had. They only use plastic cups and every single bottle and cup at the end of the night was thrown in the trash. The landing has a great outdoor patio that overlooks the water right near the aquarium. I went saturday during the day and it was PACKED. Seats were first come first serve and we managed to get a seat and had great service, which was surprising with how busy it was. They had loud music playing and a great crowd of people. It's an awesome spot to go to during the day on the weekends. The line to the bathrooms is ridiculous.. so make sure you go before hand! The drinks were great.. they offer different types of fish bowls, so come with friends! The clientele is young professionals from the area looking for a good time after work. Pricing is very reasonable and the bartenders are friendly and SUPER quick to serve and close out your tab. We got 4 drinks for a little over 30 bucks and the pour was really GENEROUS! Music was great. It can get pretty packed so if you want a relaxed atmosphere, this is not for you. My review is based solely on cocktails. The Landings is a bar located on the water and near the Aquarium as well. In the many times I've visited Boston I've walked past a ton of times but never stopped in. So many places to go never enough time. We had a few hours to kill before our flight and wanted nothing more than to sit by the water as much as possible. So we finally stopped in and had to get a fishbowl of course. The place is usually packed and it was fairly busy when we were there but we managed to get a table. Service was decent as were the atmosphere and drink.
