Average tacos. That's really all I can say. We ordered 5 for 2 people -- WAY too much food by the way. If you have a small appetite, 1 is probably enough for you. 2 is enough for any other normal person. But we wanted to try some different ones so we ordered away. We got the chicken, asada steak, kalua pork, "best fish taco," and the Mayan fish taco. To start, the steak and chicken were really well seasoned and tender. The fish were... not very seasoned and rather dry. The entire taco, while giant and stuffed, was generally underseasoned. It needed a salsa or some kind of kick. They have self-serve salsas which you can add but they didn't quite do the trick. The tacos are just a little lacking in flavor. It's a good taco for the price (all between $5 and $8) especially if you only eat one. If I had to pick, I'd say to get the chicken. I think that was probably our favorite. read more

Before getting lost in the delectable food with the unbeatable quality, I really want to give a shout out to the INSANELY AWESOME fella at the counter. I wish I would've caught his name... but I know was raised in West Seattle, because we were lucky enough to be able to chat with him a bit before the sh*tshow occurred. Immediately after we ordered, this dude had a straight up CROWD of folks in the store. If that wouldn't be enough to strip a solo cashier's smile off his face, the phone was also ringing off the hook. It was New Year's Day and maybe this was one of the few places open, but my GOD! He was working so hard at taking care of each and every person with a massive smile, absolute attention, and without breaking a sweat. (Note: I have worked in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years. This isn't a joke) I literally contemplated riling up the crowd and trying to get them all to applaud him... but those little scenes typically work out better in my head, so I left it to loudly complimenting him as we left. ;) OKAY! So, now onto the food... ha! We tried four different tacos between the two of us at it was FAR more than we probably needed to eat (they are HUGE), but they were so damn scrumptious that we were even scouring the basket for fallen treasures of our tacos' innards to keep it going! The kalua pork, the kahuna fish, and this special I can't seem to recall the name of, were unbelievable! The tortillas were worth writing home about on their own! GAH! We also had the seared ahi taco, which I wasn't as big of a fan of, because the ahi didn't really seem seared... it was cooked pretty much all the way through. But, to their credit, the line was probably working with wide-eyes anticipating the masses of tickets coming their way. No big deal. And the best part about this all?!?! The QUALITY!!! Thankfully, we knew we were supporting some local folks, local farms, and awesome practices. Our only regret is that we didn't start our trip heading there, and instead wasted our taco taste buds on a few mediocre joints. At least we know for next time! ;) read more

Had a couple meals there, good flavored food with reasonable price. First time we went there for dinner and there were hardly any meat in our tacos. I didn't mind because the flavor was good. The other few times we went there for lunch, and there were so much meat, and we enjoyed it. The food can be very slow depends on how many orders before you. We waited more than 30 mins for 2 tacos. Excellent tacos. In fact, after thinking about it, the tacos here are probably the best I've had. The portion size of each taco is quite large which is great value. They have a large menu with many varieties of meat to choose from so everyone in your party should be satisfied. I dont usually like to be so negative against places but i was very disappointed. My husband and I decided to give tiki tacos a try. All i can say is out of all the mexican placesin kapaa dont go to this place. I odred fish tacos and i may as well have ordered a cabbage taco because that was about all that was in there except A very thin small piece of fish and was very greasy and fishy...not fresh at all. Then my husband ordered steak tacos but they were out of steak and not planning on getting any in the resturant for the rest of the day so they were going to go the whole day and it was 12 in the afternoon and refuse customers the option and not do anything about it which is bad business running. So he ordered the pork and again the whole taco was stuffed with cabbage and very little pork I wish i had gotten a picture of it. MAybe it was just a bad day but I have no desire to return theres so many better options in kapaa read more

Quality at it's best. They make their own tortillas and grow their own produce, as well as having traditional Mexican beverages. So ono!!

My wife and I, along with our two teenagers, ate here last night as our first meal on the island. We were starved--and they did not disappoint! The fish tacos are better than the ones we eat in San Diego and three times the size. The owner/manager greets you in his cowboy hat and explains the menu: fish, pork, chicken and veggie options all on a chalk board. Homemade thick corn tortillas. I had the kahuna, very spicy and tasty. One was enough, but I wanted to have another. You can walk across the street to the gas station and buy your own beer and bring it if you like; but they have soda and canned juice. We plan to go back. And back. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star is: a) the clerk that ran up our order was a little dazed and confused and not helpful (after the owner turned the order over to him), b) they were out of guacamole and don't offer any sides, and c) the fresh water and hot sauce is on the same table and in the same area where you bus your plate. It was a wonderful little Taco place which had some of the most amazing Tacos. I had not expected them to taste so well. The Kahuna Taco and the Royal Hawaiian Taco were out of the world. The staff was super friendly as well. We had to go back to take the last meal on the island there. read more

I was in Kauai in July of 2017, and after reading many reviews, I decided to add Tiki Tacos to my list. Yes, the tacos were big, however the handmade tortillas were super cold and almost rubbery. When you make tortillas by hand they are best served warm. The chicken was shredded in the tacos, however there were some small bones in it. The wait was a good 40 minutes. They had one two young guys in the kitchen and one young girl at the cash register. I could see that the tortillas were made hours before (saw the stack of tortillas) This place was jam packed with tourists. The problem is that they have a very lenghty menu full of a variety of tacos. In Los Angeles, this place wouldnt even cut it. The seating is very very limited. read more

UMMMMM these tacos are so GOOD!! We discovered this little hole in the wall the last time we were in Kauai and made a mental note to come back this time around. It was just as good as the last time we were here. Our expectations for tacos are pretty high coming from Southern California and these totally hit the mark if not exceeded it! Really good! My taco did fall apart (we took them to go) but I loved that the tortilla was homemade! I'm okay with the tack falling apart because It was so good and I just ate it with my hands/fork. I do t eat tacos thinking my hands should stay clean the entire time. Tried the Roasted Mayan fish taco (good, but I would get a different one next time) and the Tiki Fire Pork (REALLY GOOD). We didn't have trouble finding parking and waited about 10 minutes for our tacos. The red chili sauce was good and a little sweet. The green was also good. I would get both. read more

Yum! Da hawaiian is delish and the best fish taco is rockin. Don't ask for spicy unless you can handle it. It looks like it's just sliced peppers added to make it hurt. We stopped here for some take out lunch and were so happy with our food! I had the fish taco and the spicy chicken taco. Both are closer to the size of a small burrito and filled with well marinated protein and topped with cabbage, cheese and other great flavors. My husband had the lamb tacos and loved every bite. He said the lamb really tasted like lamb - just want he wanted. Finally, my sister, who is a vegetarian, had what she described as the best tacos she has ever tasted. The vegetable taco wasn't your usual peppers and onions - it was filled with broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and other local veggies. Really tasty tacos but the real star is those masa handmade tortillas. Makes the meal feel heartier. I ended up going back up to the counter for a second (probably shouldn't have) but it was so good I had to. I ordered the carne asada/beef taco (they had like three variations of beef -- one spicy, one plain, and another I don't recall). They have two variations of salsa that are very tasty as well (green is a little spicy). Kids got the quesadilla and loved it too. Coming from San Francisco I was hesitant to try Mexican food in Hawaii, but Kauai is a small place and after a couple of days of some hits and misses and a long tiring hike through Waimea Canyon I needed a little comfort food and tacos sounded delicious. The food, totally hit the spot, the veggie taco was delicious, the fish taco was really good as well but the veggie taco was the star. Two tacos will set you back $10 which is kinda spendy but translated to Kauai dollars that's a deal and they're pretty substantial tacos.
