I'm no expert in Indian-inspired pizza but we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the food. We are not from the area but was nearby and craving pizza, this looked the most appealing from photos. Located in a quiet plaza (at least on a Sunday afternoon) with plenty of parking. The shop is small with very limited seating. We ordered two 14" pizzas - the butter chicken that was most recommended by staff and the saag paneer. Both were packed with flavor and had a nice thin and crispy crust. We all liked the saag a tad more because it was brighter and lighter. I also had a mango lassi and it paired perfectly with the food - not too sweet and not too thick. We shared one order of samosas (comes with 2) and my goodness, the sauces were bomb. I wanted to drink them. Portions were very fair for the price as well. The two pizzas we got were enough to serve 6 (and maybe more depending on how much you eat). I'm very glad we chose to try this place and I hope it attracts more attention!

My friends and I figured that pizza was the easiest thing for a group, and since we didn't really feel like going to a chain shop, we just looked on yelp to see what was nearby. This place came up, and we were down to try something new. We walked in and there's just a counter right at the door, so it's definitely a place where you just order and take it out. There are tables outside if you do want to sit down to eat right then and there, but it won't be ideal especially when it's raining. We ordered a Chicken Tikka Pizza and a Butter Chicken Pizza, both mediums ($24 each) at 14". The pizzas took about 20-25 minutes so we walked around the plaza for a bit and came back to pick them up. The pizzas were piping hot right when we got them. You could definitely smell the chicken tikka and the butter chicken as soon as you open the box and it really filled up the car. Personally I liked the Chicken Tikka more than the butter chicken, only because it had a little bit of spice to it so it had some kick that they butter chicken was missing. I believe the chicken tikka is the one with the darker sauce, so it also had a bit more earthy flavor profile to it. Both pizzas were still very good in their own way though. I'm glad that we found this place by chance. It's a unique concept to put Indian dishes on pizza but it really works! We're never going back to a chain pizza store again since we've found this one now.

I've been wanting to try this place out and when I finally had their Butter Chicken pizza - it met all my expectations. The pizza is delicious! I will go back and try their tikka masala pizza next. I had their samosas as well and they really also tasty. I didn't have to wait too long when I walked in and ordered the pizza to go. The cashier was friendly. The restaurant is small there are a few tables and seats inside and outside.

Super happy to find out there are easy vegan options here. We live right up the street and have anticipated the opening of this very cool pizza place. We had the Achari Gobi made vegan, which was very fresh and well seasoned. Looking forward to trying more options and adding this to an easy dinner rotation.

We tried the Tandoori Kebab, which was supposed to come with a house salad and basmati rice. Instead of rice, we got French fries and instead of a house salad, we got a mixture of different vegetables such as slices of red onion, peppers, and slices of tomatoes with lemon wedges. Not a piece of lettuce! I would only recommend their pizzas.

We have been wanting to visit Tikka Pizza Kitchen for a long time because we love Indian food and we enjoy Pizza. When we pulled up outside we weren't sure if it was open because the glass is dark and there was a bunch of stacked furniture outside. The guy who served us was polite and gave us a couple of recommendations which we chose all three. The kitchen looks messy and unorganized which sort of put us off, but our pizzas came out quickly and were piping hot. In the car ride home the aroma was amazing. We loved the Chicken Tikka and Butter Chicken, both were hot and delicious. The Paneer was good, but we didn't like the added ricotta cheese, it would have been better with just Paneer. Overall we highly recommend Tikka Pizza kitchen, can't wait to try the other Indian offerings.

Great Indian flavors in a pizza! The fries here are super crispy and seasoned. The dipping sauce was very tasty too. It's on a the sweeter side but I enjoyed it. We made the order on Uber Eats and our order came out in a timely manner to pick up. This pizza satisfied our cravings.

We are not big pizza eaters but after talking about this place for a year ( previously went to their full service place in San Marcos now closed) tonight was the night. We ordered what we thought was a pepperoni and mushroom calzone and a small Saag and paneer pizza. The calzone delivered actually was a pizza, oh well mistake. But same thing just not folded and I think larger. They were both fresh and tasty with quality toppings. My pizza the Indian style, had green pepper on it which I did not expect but it was fine. It had great flavor,with saag, cilantro, cheese and paneer. If I ordered this again, I might ask for no peppers, but more saag. My husband had the pepperoni and mushroom. Again, fresh sliced mushrooms not slimy canned ones. Great crust, with a nice chew and crunch. The Indian items are what I am most interested as there are no Indian places in Escondido. But that is what makes this place unique. I am looking forward to trying more flavors and menu items, like the samosas and biryani.

Heard about this trend of Indian pizza. This place opened up by my mom's house so I gave it a try. Got the chicken tikka masala pizza. Wow. I was blown away. So good. Not only the flavors of the pizza but the crust was top notch. Like a great ny style crust. Crunch outside and chewy center. The only thing about the place would be the price. A lil spendy. $33 for a large pizza. It's big though and will feed several people. Give it a try. read more

I was curita out this pizza place near my work. I decided to order pizza for the office. In all fairness, I don't have a lot of experience with Indian cuisine. I ordered online in between working. I'm positive if I would have called, I would have been able to get suggestions. That being said, our impromptu pizza party at lunch was a huge success! We ordered a large Butter Chicken Pizza and a large Paneer Tikka Pizza. The crust was delicious. Crispy bottom yet still managed to have nice soft edge. The butter chicken edged out the paneer pizza by a slight margin in the office. Flavors were balanced and neither pizza was over the top spicy. Customer service really sets this place apart. Our delivery driver came in complimenting how nice everyone was at the restaurant and how she was early so they hurried the pizzas. I need to visit again before giving the full 5 stars just for consistency. Adding a description for each pizza on the menu would certainly help people like me who have little experience to branch out more. That being said, I think I'll try the curry pizza next. read more

I was SOOOO excited for this pizza because I love the fusion. Buttt it turned out to be way too dry. The flavors were great, just basically 0 sauce and the over cooked chicken made it dryer. Flavors were good tho. Idk maybe I ordered the wrong pizza. I wish I liked it more but I can't honestly say I'd go back. read more

Bland and overcooked. We were really excited to find a local place after trying some amazing Indian fusion pizzas in the Bay Area. We gave it a shot and were severely disappointed. I really hope they figure it out because we really need good Indian pizza in San Diego. We got two pies. The crust on one was blackened. Both were dry and overcooked. They smelled amazing but they were dry and bland. Utterly lacking in flavor and spice. read more

If you love both Indian food and Pizza, this is the place you must order. Authentic Indian chicken Tikka served as Pizza toppings is priceless. We tried this multiple times, and every time it was mouth watering. We tried Chicken Tikka, chicken Chettinadu pizza. For most of the Indian restaurants in greater SD area the taste changes over time, but Please keep the same food taste as you continue your journey. Request : I wish they open near Rancho Bernardo or Carmel Mountain area, you will have more revenue. read more

A fun hybrid of traditional pizza and favorite Indian dishes. The chicken tikka has subtle sweet and warm spice like you would expect and it is mellowed out by the cheese. The palak paneer was interesting as the bell pepper and red onion bridged both cultures...is it Indian or is it italian? Maybe both, and quite delicious. The little cubes of paneer were a fun textural component. The crust is the hands down winner. It was crispy on the bottom but definitely reminded me of soft, pillowy naan. It had wonderful charred air pockets that added unique flavor and texture. For those that love a piece of cold pizza the next morning, this does not disappoint. The flavors mellow a bit but the crust stays intact and is still soft and chewy. Didn't expect to go to Escondido for Indian pizza but give it a try. I think it's carry out only and probably delivery through your favorite app. read more

The reviews about the hours are not wrong. We were looking forward to trying this place and my husband showed up at 4pm. The door was open but someone inside told him that they weren't open until 7pm. The hours listed are 11a-9p and the door was unlocked. Like the other reviewers, we may be back but they really need to figure out what is going on with their hours first. read more

I never made it to tiki pizza, I called around 345pm on a Sunday, they said call back we're on break, then I called at 430pm and they said that they were not serving food yet and that they'll take my order at 5pm, I called back at 5pm they said they were not taking orders till 530p, so I called back at 530pm... She told me to call back in 15 minutes. I did not call back again, 4 phone call attempts were enough. No where on yelp or Google did they say they close down or that they don't take orders till 530pm. Very disappointed. It actually turned me off to the entire franchise itself. I really hope I was the only one this happened to but I wouldn't be surprised if there are many incidents. I can't comment about the food cause Ive never tried it and possibly never will. Can someone suggest another Indian pizza place that wants my business!!! Thank you read more

I loved this pizza! I ordered the Butter Chicken and it did not disappoint. In my opinion the crust is fantastic :) The shop is not a sit down shop; you order and take it to go. But I did see people in the parking lot too impatient to go home. They put the box on their trunk and began pulling slices out of their box and I saw that stretch of cheese, from the box to the slice, hehe, and it makes the pizza just look so good ;) read more

In town for the Safari Park and scanned the area for unique food options for dinner. As an Indian food fan, I was drawn in by the name of this place. We went to pick up food to-go to bring to a brewery. Were greeted as soon as we came in by the owner who was very friendly and informative describing the menu. The customer area is small and doesn't have tables, so it definitely operates as a to-go option, with a few sodas/drinks in a refrigerator for purchase. We ordered Saag Chicken and Tikka Chicken pizzas, but there are traditional pizzas, other Italian food, skewers, and other Indian food options available. Both pizzas were delicious and nailed the Indian flavors perfectly. The crust was also a perfect blend of crispy/chewy and the cheese paired very well with the flavors. Would highly recommend for Indian food or pizza lovers! read more

The pizza was a pool of oil that we gad to soak up with paper towels. Yuk. I paid with a $20 bill and the cashier refused to provide change showing me an empty cash register. What kind of business operates like this? We won't be coming back. read more

I have been looking forward to Tikka Pizza Kitchen opening since I moved to Escondido in the summer. My fiancé and I stopped by on Saturday and received a slice of Tikka Masala pizza to try (they were offering a free slice to customers for their grand opening). It was flavorful and made us want to try more. We ended up ordering a Butter Chicken pizza and this one was just as delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu! Definitely recommend this new spot. read more

This is the best pizza in Escondido. The crust is the closest you'll get to NY style crust here in esco. Venture out and try the Indian flavors (Chettiandu and Achari are my fav) - do not sleep on this place it's bomb AF!! read more

I only noticed because I didn't recognize anyone working that I saw there just a couple weeks prior. I used the app both times, full price. Can't justify the higher prices if you serve the same skimpy product found anywhere else for half the price. I'll gladly try again and pay for what I bought the first time if it is consistent.

I wish I could review the food of this place but I can't justify giving my money to a business who can't open on time (even with the time change). When they finally unlocked their doors 15 minutes after their posted opening time, the woman at the counter stated that all food would take at least an hour to be ready.
