Got my referral to come to this office from my dentist to get my wisdom teeth out, the sole reason I'm giving a low score is due to the extremely unhelpful and rude receptionist. She was rude to me and the other girl in the office while trying to locate our medical information. Working in customer service myself I understand having a bad day but this is overboard, if she wants to be in this industry she really needs to learn to be more helpful and understanding. After reading the other reviews and personally visiting the office myself, I can see where everyone is coming from. The doctor himself seems great. He's warm and all smiles. I only got about 3 minutes with him though. I'm sure his skill set is there as he was on Extreme Makeover but it was like a drive-by exam. The office seems a little... I'm not really sure how to describe it. I feel mixed I was referred out by my usual dentist for an implant consultation to Dr. Silegy's office specifically because they take different types of discount plans including my Cigna Access -I tried calling the office during normal business hours - weekday, around 3pm (not a holiday) but it would just go straight to voice mail -I went on the website and filled out the form to have someone call me/email me about scheduling an appointment. Got nothing -When I finally get a hold of someone, I schedule the appointment and am told it is $120 and that someone would call me the day before to confirm -I do get a call the day before and when I confirm my dentist will provide xrays and ask if I should bring $120, I am told yes, but to bring $200 just in case.... Huh? Why would I bring 200 if it's 120? $80 is a significant difference. I don't get a clear answer really but I somewhat understood after my visit. Stress on the somewhat. -Day of the visit I arrive on time and fill out forms for 5 min. I am then taken to another room to take an xray and get my blood pressure taken -I sit around in another room for quite a while... all things considered, I was seen about 40 minutes after I arrived. Granted there was yet another form to sign and the dental assistant and I had some small talk I did get a bit restless Once I was at Melissa's desk (she does the billing there) I was presented a form that shows my estimate for my implant, cost of the appointment $120 and $110 for the x-ray. Long story short, I paid only what my discount plan's fees entail and did NOT pay the $110 for the x-ray that was taken WITHOUT prior notification that there would be a fee. Everyone there is really nice.. but it seems communication and some clarity could be of use. read more

When I arrived Sully was there to great me and my son, she is a very warm kind person makes you feel comfortable, then I meet with Rose... another friendly assistant. Dr Silegy and his team were so accommodating to meet my emergency wisdom teeth extraction due to an infection. I spoke with Rosemarie, explained my situation to her, and I was able to get a consultation and extraction the very next day. Upon entering, the office is modern and comfortable. The office seemed to be busy with patients, but they still didn't leave you unattended and checked on the waiting room to make sure patients were okay. Everyone is so friendly, with smiling, warm faces. Getting x-rays wasn't a pain at all, as they have a new, high tech machine that doesn't require you to bite down on those uncomfortable pieces of cardboard. Quick and painless. Rosemarie and a trainee brought me to the operating room (what's it called in a dental office?), checked and monitored all of my vitals. Shortly after, Dr Silegy came in, talked a little bit with me and reassured me I'd be fine (I let him know I've never been under anesthesia or had any kind of surgery), so as he gave me the anesthesia, he took my mind off of what was going on and before I knew it, I was awake and my teeth were gone! Rosemarie walked me over to kind of like, a post-op area to wait out the anesthesia and the rest a little before leaving. She was very good about explaining all of the do's and don'ts regarding proper oral care following the extraction. I'm glad I came to Dr Silegy's office. Such a pleasant experience overall! My experience started out great but quickly turned into a VERY frustrating one. The preliminary consultation for wisdom teeth extraction went well but the price threw me off, especially since I was told my particular case was a very simple one with no complications. I did some research and found they charge above average per tooth extraction, especially for the simplicity of my procedure. (DEFINTELY CALL AROUND BEFORE HAVING THE PROCEDUE!) When I went in the next day for my operation I expressed concerns with the pricing and that I genuinely felt like I was being ripped off. My concerns were met by Rene, one of the assistants there, who was VERY rude, entitled and condescending to say the least. She was clearly annoyed by my concerns and treated me like an inconvenience. I was asking if there was any flexibility with the pricing since I was getting all four wisdom teeth removed at once (some surgeons offer discounts when you do this) and especially since my procedure was a simple one. Instead of listening to my concerns and questions, she explained that it was very nice of them to offer me a payment plan to begin with (I never even expressed frustration with the payment plan). On top of that, she complained to me about having to call my insurance and wait on hold to find out about my coverage (again, my concern was not with insurance but how much they were charging to extract each tooth. Yet again, she was not listening to my concerns). She passively made it clear that I was being difficult and she wasn't happy about it. My boyfriend was sitting right behind me in the waiting room and could not believe how rude she was to me, how little she cared, and how little she actually listened. I went into surgery feeling belittled and frustrated, especially when I saw this same woman would also be assisting in my operation. During surgery, I could hear everything- the drill, their conversations... This was a bit stressful since I expected to be OUT but I didn't feel any pain. When I came out of surgery, I told Rene she should work on being nicer to people. Her response in a snooty tone: Well, you're the first person to ever tell me this... She didn't even care. I would like to add that Dr. SIlegy was great and the woman at the front desk was also very sweet when handling my concerns. I could tell she noticed the coldness Rene was putting off and was trying to buffer the situation. Had Rene not been a part of tmy expereince with this office I probably would have given them 5 stars. I have a follow-up appointment next week. Depending on how that goes I may come back and update my review. One more thing, they prescribe 600mg ibuprofen for pain meds. This was a bit shocking, considereing the type of procedure it is. My regular dentist advised me I needed to have all four wisdom teeth removed and referred me to Dr. Silegy as the go-to dentist for oral surgery. From the initial phone call all the way to the post-op follow up appointment, I was treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism. I don't know anyone who likes going to the dentist but I wouldn't hesitate going back to Dr. Silegy. By the same token, I would be quite pleased if I never have dental surgery again. Seriously though, the surgery was a complete success and I had a pleasant and pain-free experience. The staff were positive and upbeat and the office was immaculate and modern. As someone who is terrified of any type of dentist/dental procedures. I was not looking forward to getting my wisdom tooth extracted... every person that works here was kind. The girl at the front was sweet and welcoming. Emily... really made me feel very comfortable and she was so bubbly and sweet. We sparked up a very natural conversation and for a second I forgot they were going to rip a tooth out of my face. Then I met Dr. Sigley, (handsome to boot!) he came in the room with a smile and was also very comforting, he literally sang along to the song that was playing in the room and before I could process that the tooth was coming out, it was already out. After having an X-ray taken and a consultation with Dr. Silegy, the front desk collected the payment and told me that was the final price that I'm owing. Paid my $79.50 and several months later, got a call from the office saying I'm still owing them another $53.76. They even send numerous letters from the collection department. Their whole billing department and payment system is a joke, and so is their insurance verification system. If you DO NOT want to pay more than what was asked of you (despite them saying that's the final co-payment) then I suggest you go elsewhere. There are other and better oral surgery offices close by. Take my word and it will save you a whole lot of headache. read more

I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Silegy to treat my worsening TMJ. She predicted that a possible injection will be done on my jaw. I am not overly excited about that because injections on the mouth area tends to be really painful. I can't barely open my mouth when I first visited his clinic. When Dr. Silegy saw me and had a diagnosis, he said I have an reciprocating anterior decompression. In layman's term, may jaw clicks when it opens and closes. He explained it to me very well that I had minimal questions. I understood it right away. He also prescribed a mouth splint that will not allow me to clench my teeth when I am stressed and will prevent my teeth on grinding when I sleep. I had to wear it 24/7 for 2 weeks. It was really pricy but heck, if it will prevent me to have surgery, l'm all for it. After 2 weeks have passed, the clicking lessen, i can open my mouth wider (4mm) more and my teeth even moved like I was on teeth liners. I was so impressed with the treatment and I would really recommend Dr. Silegy. The whole start are also friendly and very accommodating which made my visits much more pleasurable which diverted my attention from a stressful treatment to a pleasant one. read more

I was extremely anxious to get my wisdom teeth removed because I had never had any other procedures or serious dental work done before. Dr. Silegy removed all four of my wisdom teeth and it was a much easier experience than I was expecting, I am so happy about it. The office was decorated very nicely and the staff was very warm and welcoming. They even asked what music I wanted to listen to while they were setting everything up, which I think was a very nice touch. After my procedure, I had no swelling and you basically could not tell that I had any dental work done after the procedure. Also, there was minimal pain and the instructions that I was given for after care are very straightforward and easy to follow. I will preface this review by saying that my wisdom tooth extraction was scheduled before a major holiday. I don't believe that this excuses negligence on the doctor's part, or should make the patient's care any less of a priority. Upon my initial visit, I was hindered by the very ultra-contemporary, utilitarian feel of the place. It was very "hip", but it felt more like a bachelor pad than a medical office. While the equipment was state of the art and the staff and Dr. Silegy were both friendly, he came off very disconnected and disingenuous. Cavalierly, he told me he would put me under anesthesia and the entire procedure would take 20 minutes. After that I would be sent on my merry way to take pain meds and antibiotics for a week, simple as that. The day of the surgery, I saw Dr. Silegy about 30 seconds before he anesthetized me and aside from my semi-consciousness, not at all after I came to. The procedure took 1 1/2 hrs instead of the initial 20 minutes. I was told by a dental assistant that there was still a tooth fragment lodged in my socket and due to the sensitive nerve endings running underneath the fragment, the Doctor decided to forgo extracting it. This was all second-hand information however. The assistant went over with me how I should be taking my medication 4 times daily, all together with food. I confirmed it all with her before I left just to be sure that I was not mistaken. It was all very colloquial and the paperwork I was given was not very thorough. Evidently we both were wrong about the meds. I should have taken the pack as directed to ward off any initial infections, which is why a week later I was still in excruciating pain. I saw the doctor again the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I expressed to him that I was still in a lot of pain where the fragment was and I had numbness and sensitivity in my gums and teeth in an area completely unrelated to the surgery (which I still do). He insisted that this was due to the nerve under the fragment still lodged in my socket and the numbness should dissipate. I was barely able to finish a question, or express a concern before he appeased me with a vague and patronizing answer, not once examining me. He did a quick test to make sure that this numbness was not serious, before expediting me to another dental assistant. Come Thanksgiving Day there was no improvement. The pain had gotten worse; I was out of pain meds and antibiotics and could not contact the doctor. The office number forwarded me to an operator who in turn gave me a number to on-call doctor, Doctor Levine, who has yet to return any of my urgent messages. I could not eat, nor did I have an appetite. While I was happy to see family, I really could not enjoy my holiday. The following day I was bed ridden. I finally resorted to a 24/7 dentist in Anaheim that weekend. They gave me a brand new prescription, were very informative and believe it or not had time to LISTEN to me. My state has improved, but I have missed 2 weeks of work and school. I realize that this may be an isolated incident. I do not want to take away from the staff. They were friendly and efficient. While I believe that Dr. Silegy is a fine surgeon, he let what I believe to be his arrogance come before the care of a patient. If the doctor was planning on being unavailable, he should not have risked scheduling me for surgery, because inevitably I alone have suffered the financial and physical repercussions. He also should have had a reliable on-call doctor. I cannot reconcile that truth and for that reason will not be returning to his office. read more

I went in to see Dr. Silegy on a referral by my dentist because I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed. At my first appointment the doctor wasTWO HOURS LATE because he had two emergency walk-ins that morning. My appointment was at lunch time during a weekday so I left work to come to his office for my consultation. It would have been nice if someone had called me before my appointment to tell me that the doctor was running late. I was amazed that his staff didn't call any of his patients and warn them that he was running TWO HOURS behind. The worst part of it was that they kept telling me, "He's running a little late because of a few emergency appointments, but he should be in here soon, any minute now." So, I kept waiting because I had to get my wisdom teeth out as soon as possible, I heard that he was a great doctor, and because I was told that he was going to be in there soon so I didn't want to leave and then have him show up five minutes later. I didn't have insurance so I had to pay for everything out of pocket. The total cost for consultation and four wisdom teeth removed was right around $1800. Yikes! Went into his office for the removal, he was on time - thank God - and everything went smoothly. I was knocked out in no time and my teeth were out, then I was in recovery. I got a phone call that night at about 10:00. Since it was a Friday I thought it was some weirdo calling or a wrong number, but it was Dr. Silegy! He was calling to ask how I was feeling. VERY IMPRESSIVE!! :) That was awesome! For about two weeks I had pain in one area where a tooth was removed so I had to go back to get it looked at. My nurse, Rosemarie (I believe that was her name), looked at it and decided to "pack it". Rosemarie was really wonderful. She was sweet, chatty and amazing. However, the packing was extremely painful! The packing was basically placing a skinny two inch piece of gauze dipped in medicine into the hole where my tooth used to be using a pair of tweezers. That area had been hurting so badly that the entire side of my face was throbbing so when she packed it my pain level went through the ceiling, I almost told her to stop. They don't have numbing cream for a job like that??!!! It's been three weeks since my extractions, I'm healing well. Overall, my experience was okay. Would I go back to him? I'm not sure. Would I refer him? Probably not. read more

Worst oral surgeon ever! I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!!! I had my wisdom teeth removed last week and I was definitely NOT pleased. First of all, my consultation is where I noticed something was not right. He seemed like a nice man but his speech seemed definitely rehearsed. Does he send everyone to Hawaii? I mean, come on, I'm paying for a consultation, not to hear a speech that he told everyone else before me. Second, the staff seems nice but Melissa? (I think that's her name) is a real hot head. She was not helpful at all. Instead, she just gave me an attitude when I asked her a question. The assistant I had, I cant remember her name, she was pleasant but I felt really bad for her when I heard Dr. Silegy yell at her in the hallway. I was referred here by my general dentist for my wisdom teeth to be removed. He is in the deltacare usa plan. Place is very nice looking, small waiting room but aesthetically pleasing. They have a panorex, an xray machine that takes an image of your entire jaw in one motion rather than the traditional xrays in most dental offices which was nice. Spoke with Dr. Silegy and was told my top 2 wisdom teeth would be easy pulls, and the bottom 2 would need to be sectioned or cut out in pieces, the bottom ones were the ones that hurt the most. Pain lasted about 2 weeks after the procedure. Anyways very happy with Dr. Silegy, I didn't know it but apparently he is a renown oral maxillary surgeon and has been featured on that show extreme makeover in which he reconstructed someones jaw. I had a wonderful experience with this Oral surgeon right from the first phone call with a girl named Melissa. I had a sensitive situation being 9 months pregnant and needing to have a very large gum growth removed. I was nervous about the procedure but Dr Silegy and his staff made me feel very secure and safe, the procedure only took about 30 minutes. I came here to have a molar tooth extraction. My tooth had a crack in it after a root canal I had previously. I was definitely nervous because the only time I've had an extraction was for my wisdom teeth and that was a horrible experience. But it went very well! Dr. Silegy was very nice and professional. He explained things well and pulled my tooth out in no time at all. I didn't feel any pain. The worst part were the numbing shots on the back of my mouth, but that has to be done. My 12 year old Daughter had an impacted tooth, a baby tooth that didn't drop and an extra tooth. We went in for consultation in July and it was a great experience. They checked our insurance and advised us of all the cost. She had her procedure on Sept 8. All went went well. We just did our follow up today. I was recommend to come here from my dentist Mark Vidor. Coming here was the best decisions I could have ever made. I came here back in 2015 to get my wisdom tooth pulled. I went local ( meaning no aesthetic ,low amounts which means I was awake during my procedure) It was quick and the only pain I felt was pressure. Other then that everything was great. I was a little nervous I called a few times just to make sure my healing process was going good. They had me come in to give me a piece of mind. Fast forward! I had to get another one pulled. Same thing! Everything went great they got me in and out. I called at 9 and spoke with Rene who awesomely made everything happen they got me in by 10 surgery completed by 11:30. Dr Silegy is by far the WORST doctor I have ever encountered. His front office is extremely difficult to deal with. They bullshitted me through my insurance for months and months, and it ended up that they had not done a thing to get it done! Dr Silegy treated me like a small child, and I felt very DISRESPECTED. Everything he says seems FAKE and rehearsed. I felt like he was ANGRY to be at work, and clearly cannot keep his personal and work life separate. He is INTIMIDATING, and when I mentioned I was uncomfortable he gave no care. I asked to talk in his office with him and he refused irrationally. I felt so UNCOMFORTABLE that I left without any treatment. (The best decision I could have made!) On the bright side, I did find another surgeon that was exactly what I needed! Dr Lees office has a calm and caring vibe- much different from Silegy's. I recently had Dr Lee take out my wisdom teeth and implant- He put me at ease instantly before my procedure, and treated me with utmost respect.
