Bagels are typically good. The rest is awful. I have been here a few times, each time just for a bagel. The place is chaos. The area where you stand to order is tight and long and crowded. The staff seems confused. I twice had to explain what I meant by the "the largest size coffee you have" and once that explanation got me a small. Today I decided to try a full on breakfast. HUGE MISTAKE. Order: Cheddar Cheese Omelet, Everything bagel with cream cheese, not toasted, extra large coffee, light, no sugar. To Stay. 1) note to cook: American cheese and Cheddar Cheese are not the same thing. 2) I said NOT TOASTED, the woman taking my order even wrote it down. 3) I said TO STAY. I got it in a take-out container. Bagel tossed on top of the hot omelet and hash browns (more on them later). The omelete, made with cheap American cheese and not cheddar, was flavorless. The bagel, toasted, was a sloppy mess because the cream cheese, melted all over the place, including on to the omelet inside of the take-out container, was inedible unless I wanted to wear cream cheese. I didn't. The coffee (at least it was the right size) was undrinkable boiling hot dishwater. It was seriously awful coffee. Worst was the two hash brown patties dumped on top if the egg. They had a strange, almost fish-like flavor and odor. To top that off, they were undercooked with the distinct taste and texture of undercooked potato. They were terrible pre-frozen slabs. Two bites and they, along with the rest of the meal, went in the trash. The meal was greasy due to the hash browns. The eggs on the other hand were dry. The American cheese was horrible. I can't get the terrible aftertaste of the meal out of my mouth despite Listerine and brushing my teeth. The bagels are OK. Couldn't eat mine today but in the past they have been fine. Terrible experience and I will not be back. read more

I've been coming to TFAB since I was a kid. Every time, it's awesome. Since COVID, nothing has changed except for the rude older man that corrals customers in the store. He has a terrible attitude, orders everyone to stand 6 feet apart but gets in your face (as in way less than 6 feet..) to ask you if your order is separate or together. It's pretty clear to see that this man is over complicating the processes within the store. Since TFAB is such a popular spot, instead of having a crotchety older man corralling people around like they're sheep, it would make more sense to have employees manning the front and back doors of the store and controlling customer traffic that way. Seriously love this place but the man who directs the line within TFAB is putting a damper on the place. read more

One person takes your order and goes to make it, then you have to recite your whole order again to the cashier to pay. Noisy and crazy, so it can be hard to get the order right. Despite the ridiculously small prep area the sandwiches come out quickly. I don't quite understand why other yelpers complain about prices here. A single bagel is about a buck and the standard Jersey sandwich of taylor ham, egg and cheese on a bagel is about $4.50, which is totally in line with other places in the area. I admit it, I'm tough on bagel shops...call me picky, call me a snob, I don't care. Time for a Bagel makes a tasty bagel, but they are a little small for my liking. I stopped in here on the recommendation of a co-worker and he warned me about long lines. Luckily I got here JUST before the place started getting crazy. I was shocked at the fast service...lady took my order (Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese on an everything bagel), banged it out and I was on my way in just a couple minutes. Bagel was delicious, but a little sloppy simply because the bagel was a little small. Nice crunchy outside, but soft and not too dense on the inside. I was leaning towards three stars for the small size, but the sandwich tasted great and the service was fast. This might be it...the place to go around Morristown to get a good egg sandwich in the morning, even though it's in Morris Plains. Yum! I love this place. The bagels are always really fresh and chewy and delicious, everything you want in a bagel. The bialy is really good and they have a huge assortment of condiments to put on your bagel. I love the different kinds of cream cheese (veggie is my favorite) and I love lox. They also make some stellar breakfast sandwiches. You can park in the back lot (shared parking lot for Arthur's, Collin's, etc.) or find a parking spot out front (but beware that some have 30 min. time limits on certain days). Even if the lines are long (and out the door), they have a pretty good system of taking and making orders so don't be discouraged or intimidated. I like to order the everything bagel with either scallion or veggie cream cheese, lox, and red onion. YUMMY! (but horrible for your breath). My companion often orders an onion bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese, salt, pepper, ketchup, and scallion cream cheese (though he's learned to order the cream cheese on the side as having it on the sandwich can get messy). We also like to split the super cinnamon raisin bagel with walnut cream cheese as our "dessert." SO GOOD and not horribly sweet (which is good for me because I don't have much of a sweet tooth). This is such a great place to stop in and grab a bagel on a super lazy morning. It's quite busy during the weekend, but relatively sparse during the weekdays. I've only tried their sandwiches, which you can probably have anywhere, but the bagel is fantastic. I personally like trying other flavors of bagels, but eating the plain bagels here are such a treat. It's right across the train station if you're headed anywhere too! Honestly, I've been tempted to stop cooking breakfast altogether and just come here for a quick bite. The people working here are awesome! Super sweet and rather patient about my indecisiveness when I'm trying to figure out which bagel and what spreads to get. TFaB probably has the best bagels in this area but keep in mind that the Morristown area is a bagel wasteland. Good bagels are pretty hard to come by. My advice is stick with the bagels. Their cream cheese is pretty good and the lox is fresh. Avoid breakfast sandwiches and egg dishes as they're usually a little disappointing. I've accidentally ordered the taylor ham, egg, & cheese sandwich a few times forgetting that there's more way more bread than filling and the eggs are overcooked. Great NY style deli ! We had a fresh potato knish with delicious deli-style brown mustard. It was flavorful and filling. I also had chicken salad on rye .... A very healthy size sandwich Side of macaroni salad was just like I used to get on Long Island. My wife's turkey sandwich was piled high. We took half with us. Very disappointed how I was treated the last time I went in. And the last time I went in is the LAST time. It's a chaotic mess ordering and paying. I ordered 3 bagels and paid for them. When the lady brought my bagels there were only two. I then get asked if I have paid for anything. One employee goes to the lady that I paid and asks if I paid. The lady who checked me out says no. Oh my. I have dreamed about these fresh bagels. They are a very solid bagel with the right amount of firmness and bite to the outside but warm and dreamy on the inside. Dropped my niece off at the train but we got breakfast first. Bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel to die for. I then got extras to go and they were still enjoyable two days later. I don't often eat bagels, but when I do, I go here. They can do both hot sandwiches and cold so that's a plus. Their bagels are fluffy and in the morning they're hot too. I came in the back this time and waited by the register while the cashier was helping someone and there were probably four other people behind the counter but no one helped me immediately. Some guy came in behind me and ordered a sandwich and I thought it was odd but figured the cashier was finishing up anyway. Eventually one guy asked if I was being helped and I said "no one is helping me yet," with a smile. I think it was too loud for him to hear me clearly and he just walked away. Odd! I stopped here on my way home DYING for a good breakfast. I got a realllllly good deal- $7 for a cheese omelette, two hash browns, and toasted and buttered bagel of your choice. I was disappointed because the omelette was not good, they eggs spread thin and picked up the residue from the grill, leaving black burnt marks on it. These really are the best bagels in Morris County. I come here all the time with my toddler. They serve tasty bagels (egg, everything, sesame, rye, super raisin, etc.), bialys and mini-bagels which is what I buy for my son. They have a deli with egg, tuna, chicken salads, pickled herring, lox and whitefish. Cream cheeses include scallion, sun-dried tomato (varies in quality), low-fat, vegetable, raisin-walnut and olive. It is really sad that I know their menu so well...My brother gets a sausage egg and cheese bagel every Tuesday. Although the cheese may be velveeta, it is quite good! ($3.00 - 3.50). They also serve special sandwiches (corned beef, pastrami, etc.) on a bagel with cole slaw and russian dressing. These have cute names like "Speedwell Avenue" and "Route 46." I find them a tad pricy but I am a cheap bastard (tad pricy = $7.50 - 8.00 for a bagel sandwich) They give you a pickle which I usually give to the (always teething) toddler. The sandwiches are very good, as they should be for that price-point. Coffees include flavored, regular and decaf. The service is fast, they have an army-like vibe going. Lots of shouts "Next Customer, Next Customer, Who is Next" with many counterpersons and their goal is to get you in and out of the store as quickly as possible before you give up and leave in disgust (been there/done that at other places). This is great for me, because I hate to wait for my food while people chit-chat around me. Just check to make sure that they get your order right, they never understand what my husband is saying (He's Austrian and sounds like Ahhhhrnold), I never know what he's going to be bringing back when he goes out to get bagels on the weekend.
