I never met I Bagel I didn't like, but there's something about Gabe's Bagels that I really Really Like. Maybe it's the fact that they're freshly baked and super soft where they should be but still crisp around the edges. Add to that an awesome assortment of freshly prepared cream cheese creations with a liberal amounts of tasty toppings and we're talking about pure deliciousness in every bite.   And if you don't believe me, [which is totally understandable] My coworkers all agree that this is definitely one of the better Bagel Shops in the area too. So yeah I think that just about covers that, what else do you need to know, Lol!! Come And Get Your Bagel Munch On!!

Bacon egg and cheese on an Everything Bagel

4.5 stars, very enjoyable. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel, SPK. The first bite was great: everything held together and there was good flavor and texture. Bagel had a good chew, but also a good give. Eggs are scrambled instead of having a gooey yolk, which I don't mind. Everything bagel had good distribution of seasonings. The reason why it is not a perfect 5 stars is because the bacon wasn't all that great and didn't have enough crisp for my liking. You can definitely tell this is a well run bagel shop though. They had a bunch of people running around and working hard on a Saturday morning. Everyone was kind and efficient. Great place!

Great NJ bagel spot near Drew University where we come when I'm visiting my daughter. Great service, fast and even if a line it moves quickly. There are a couple tables if you'd like to sit down but it's fairly noisy and people coming and taking away their food mostly so we like to to-go ours and eat elsewhere. Also good coffee and nice selection of schmears

fav go-to bagel in chatham! always super quick and friendly service and fair pricing. i usually get everything bagel with jalapeño cc. they have a good amount of options and also coffee and baked goods too. i do wish they had tofu cc though.

I'm sorry Gabe's Bagels. I had been enjoying this place for over a year but the last two times I went I've been completely underwhelmed. I like flat bagels but my past two visits I've gotten them, they are burnt on the edges. They also charge more for sandwiches or cream cheese on these bagels but they have not been filling them. See photos of my flat everything bagel with scallion cream cheese.

    Turkey club

Damn, this is a good turkey club bagel! Bagel purists would note that Gabe's version is slightly bread-y but this is more than offset by correct application of components (garlic, onion, poppy, salt, etc for an everything bagel) and the top-rate chewy-ness of said bagel. Also the staff is nice and it's cheap plus we're in NJ not Manhattan so I'm unaware of anything that even begins to approach the value-proposition offered by Gabe's.

    Bagel with butter???

Good bagel, but barely any butter on an ordered buttered bagel Sunday 6/16/24. Had to add my own butter at home. Will go elsewhere going forward.

It's always so busy whenever I drive past that I chicken out braving the private parking lot in the back and the ordering queue inside. But today, I learned that it's all worth it because, true to their reputation, they have very good bagels here! Plus, the people working there are nice! I give a 5 star just for my everything bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers, onion, and tomato. It had all the right proportions of spread and toppings for a very good lox bagel sandwich. My hubs bagel was a cinnamon raison with butter. Their bagels are fluffy and chewy, so I would opt to keep it untoasted (my preference). While there's Starbucks nearby in the same building, next time I'll try the coffee from Bagel Nosh. They also had an assortment of Tropicana orange and fruit juices. The coffee dispensers and drink cold case are to the right when you enter. New Visitor Note: When you enter, head to the right to place orders. When it's packed inside, like when I visited for the first time, it can be confusing. You may need to ask other customers where there the line begins.

The process - order, wait, pay when your item is ready. Me - I make a quick trip next door to pick up my caffeine shot. I pay after placing an order, when there are less people. I come back, pick up my order, and return home for my meetings. Efficient and always accommodated by the owners / folks in charge with a smile. Today is not. The "person in charge" (tallest of them all) just blurted tersely "i dont have a ticket". As i was calmly explaining, she turned her back and did what she wanted to do, in my mid-sentence. Basically ignoring my request, without proper 'conversation'. It was not a text. it was a conversation. It was disrespectful and rude, especially when owner herself has always been gracious in accommodating the request. It will not be my intent to go back and be disrespected.

Rainy miserable day today so since I had a rainy miserable ten hour work session at home day ahead, I stopped by. Now I'm not some bagel aficionado but one lady next to me on line who looked like she knew from bagels. She cheerfully regaled the weary line by raving she can't find any good bagels in Connecticut so when she's in Chatham town, she loads up on these. True to her word, she left with a sack of 'em. She had also ordered ahead but waited in line anyway - polite is fantastic. Guy next to her on line engaged her about Fairfield Connecticut where his son went to college. He crowed in a friendly way that his son encountered "like minded people" at the local college m and that was soon followed by mentioning Wall Street jobs and his son's "sugar momma". Why do I mention the on-line patter banter? Because it illustrated how Chatham types are generally convivial so I'd expect no less friendly chit chat if you go to Chstham Bagels and if you happen to be "like minded", of course. Blabbing passed the time while the two quiet Chatham Bagel men were working their tails off cranking out all orders fresh. Lastly? I just finished my bagel sandwich and pretty darn good! And just maybe enjoying the morning magic of preparing and enjoying good bagels makes everyone like minded here!

The bagels had some crisp on the bottom where it had browned but almost none on the top. The dough has a welcome bit of flavor to it, as if they use just enough salt in the recipe to elevate the bready taste. This is a fluffy-style bagel but it has slightly more structure than others in the category, so it has a slight edge when making sandwiches. The cream cheese was light and smooth, so complemented it well.

This is a unique 5 star restaurant that is worthy of a visit by Guy Fieri if he is still doing road trips for "Diners , Drive Ins and Dives". All I can say is you have to try them. It's worth the drive! They put a different spin on everything they serve. When you walk in, you may think it's a local deli that you go for a take out breakfast or lunch. Then you see the tables and all the customers sitting there. They have everything you could want from coffee, teas, juices, smoothies, sandwiches paninis, poke bowls, pancakes, waffles, breakfast and lunch dishes. You can tell that they have a ton of regular customers, that are very loyal. They also do catering, and even though I live in Brooklyn, they are willing to deliver to me. Today I met some amazing people at the restaurant. Congratulations to Carlos who is a new manager. He is a US Army Veteran who saw combat action and I hope everyone will thank him for his service when they visit. Carlos really cares about his customers. When we entered we were greeted, he started up a conversation and checked in on us throughout our meal. Victor was our server and he made great recommendations. He was also very friendly, we also met Melvin who was a runner and made sure the food came out promptly with all the accoutrements. Today we started with the blueberry pancakes. You get two large pancakes that are as big as the dish. They had blueberries inside and outside, whipped cream and maple syrup. Probably the best I've ever had! I had the apple, lemon, ginger juice which hit the spot. We also had the tuna poke bowl and the shrimp fajita bowl. The ingredients and fish were fresh and plentiful. I was stuffed by the time we left. I would highly recommend Seymour's Cafe if you want to experience phenomenal food and customer service.
