I have eaten there and ordered from there dozens of times and keep coming back for more. My only disappointment were the falafel that were a bit dry. Everything else was solid, from classic mezzeh - Labneh ($11), Hummus ($12), kibbeh ($20); to salads - tabouleh ($15), fattoush ($15); to chicken kebab plates ($26). My husband and I came here on a Wednesday night for a casual dinner and had a great meal. This restaurant appears to be newish in the Playa Del Rey neighborhood, and I wish I'd discovered it earlier. The restaurant is in a small strip mall that has a dedicated carpark. We found a spot easily at 5:30 pm that night. The owner was inside chatting with another diner when we came in. He greeted us immediately and told us to sit anywhere. He brought over water and two menus right after that. The ambiance here is simple and would make for a good place for lunch, a casual meal, or getting takeaway. For appetizers, we ordered two dips: the labne and baba ghanouj. Both were perfectly creamy and flavorsome. They came with toasted pita bread. For mains, my husband got the chicken shawarma which he really enjoyed. I took a bite and loved that it had garlic sauce inside. I got the falafel plate, which I enjoyed. Overall it was a large plate, but there were only three small falafel. I thought the quality of the food and the serving sizes were great for the price. Would highly recommend and return. read more

The owner is Lebanese and chef has been with him for over 40 years. They previously (prior to Covid)had restaurant in Hollywood ... the food is excellent quality and tastes freshly made. A very modest and small restaurant that packs big flavors. Owner and Lebanese food expert Johnny tirelessly works the kitchen to create authentic Lebanese food. I got the chicken shawarma which comes with fries. Their pickled beets are really good and you should try their hummus. I knew this place was legit when I tried their garlic spread. I have ordered takeout from this place twice already. Everything is super fresh and very well seasoned. The chicken is grilled to order, which means a full one requires about a 30 minute wait but it is so worth it for how flavorful and juicy it is. Genuinely amazing chicken. What a great find this place is if you enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. Ordered delivery on a weeknight and was very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. My wife, son, and I all shared their combination plate which has beef, kafta, and chicken. It comes with salad, hummus, pita, pickles, and garlic dip. I think they threw in some fries for us as well as some of their baklava. The beef and chicken were so tender, juicy, and flavorful. The rice was buttery and soft. My server gave me a comp drink and sample bites, what great promotion! Discovered Andre Soueid for the first time on their TV and I'm all about it! The best background music ever lol. At first the menu pricing could be alittle jolting if you're just looking for a simple dish, but soon come to find out some special things come in this non-simple package. A large pack of pita bread in two textures, a bowl of delicious hummus, pickled veggies and a large Shirazi salad with lightly crisped pita croutons and perfectly tangy dressing! Yummy. All of it. Main dish was a chicken kabob, and it was good. If you're a fan of onions (which I'm not much) then this plate is for you as it's loaded with them, grilled and seasoned. I'm very picky with fowl, as it needs to be super moist and this was on the dryer side for me but I think for the average person who eats chicken breast they'd enjoy it. The rice is very flavorful, and they grill the tomatoes to perfection. Other places don't fully cook them so they're hard and bland. That garlic sauce on the side is strong but really good. Shoving those little free samples in my face really worked. Next time I'm grabbing up some falafel donuts and baklava!! Service, portion size and flavors justify your money's worth here. Chicken is very good too. They always include complimentary baklava, which is delicious and my first time there, while I was waiting for my takeout order, the owner gave me sliced watermelon, pita and hummus, and baklava. I hope this place can survive because they are a gem in this neighborhood that is relatively lacking in terms of dining options! read more

This spot is absolutely fantastic. Slightly hidden by the backside of LAX is one of the most authentic, fresh and clean halal Mediterranean food that you will find. The chicken wrap and beef kabob plate are must haves. The toum (garlic sauce) is perfectly thick and concentrated. The food is not oily/heavy yet still tastes so fresh and tasty. I have been here on the weekend with a big family (almost 15 people) and they were able to accommodate and handle the crowd really well. Food is STELLAR. So fresh and so YUM! The meal was so good that I literally did a dance in my seat with every bite - from the little sides to the salad to the main dish itself. Everything was excellent, even the service for my to-go order. Veggie Combo - the falafel and baba ganoush were my fave, but truly everything it came with was delicious. Star of the dish was certainly the falafel though - it was made to perfection and so heavenly with its crispy exterior and just the right texture/blend on the beans and fluffy moistness on the inside. Chicken Kabob Plate - My chicken was super fork-tender and juicy, and flavored really well. All of the sides were so yummy and complimented the chicken well. Also really loved that the pickled radish had a nice fresh crunchy texture instead of being limpy or soft like it sometimes can be at some other mediterranean joints. Rice was cooked really well and salad had the most addictive dressing that went with it. Baklava (free) - The gentleman who took my order offered me a free baklava to sample while I waited for my order. I normally don't go for baklava because I find the dessert too sugary and sweet for my liking, or too soggy in texture from being overladen with honey or orange syrup .. BUT this one gets my highest compliments of "not too sweet" and the texture was still flaky, and the nuttiness really shone through too. Really good baklava here and would actually recommend trying. Service - Really attentive, friendly and kind - even for a to-go order. GREAT food. GREAT service. Good price - yes there's an initial sticker shock cuz it does seem to be priced higher than other mediterranean restaurants, but once I received my food order I felt the quantity and quality fully justified the price point. Finding Rincón Criollo closed at 6:00, we decided to try the new Middle Eastern restaurant next door. We were happy to find another good restaurant within walking distance. The server was so kind and helpful. The indoor vibe is casual and friendly. There's also a good sized patio area with heaters. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't get to try the dishes I usually like, but what I did try was delicious. My husband's meal came with crisp and soft pita, a generous plate of pickles and olives, some of the best hummus anywhere (creamy, but with substance; thankfully, it didn't taste like cumin) and two delectable homemade falafels. The pickles were a little softer than I'm used to, but the olives were just perfect. My husband liked the chicken. He said it was juicy. The only glitch was that he got fries instead of the rice he ordered (all plates come with fries). They were crisp and had a nice kick, but we don't normally eat fries. The waiter was so nice and they were busy, so we didn't say anything. We walked, but there's free parking in the strip mall and on the street. We plan to come back soon. read more

Omg you guys! This is a must try! I absolutely love the vibe and food. The owner/chef has been in the industry for decades and it shows! Let's start with the food. Everything was amazing! Everything! My favorite had to be the falafel and chicken wrap. The salads vinaigrette was so refreshing, I was feeling healthy. I loved that he added friend pita. It complimented the dish so well. I never had toasted pita and I tell you what, I don't want it any other way. I'm missing this food as I'm writing this review. A must try and say hello to the owner. He was sooooo genuinely sweet. Hey, hey ... just want to give a shout out to TIME OUT, a Mediterranean Cuisine. I had a blast talking with the manager, Marco (not sure if im spelling his name correctly). According to him, its more of a fast-food place. A majority of the menu is combo based. Sandwiches (made with a pita wrap, not sliced bread) , fries, and a beverage. I ordered the chicken sandwich combo, per his suggestion. The menu will be revised in the near future. I'm so glad this place has changed hands. Playa, no, the South Bay is missing good Mediterranean food. This place fills that void. When I say everything was delicious that is not an exaggeration. The sauces are on point, the falafel is crispy and season perfectly, half chicken and garlic sauce is a wet dream, hummus and tabbouleh is better than my mom's. Don't tell her I said that. The food is amazing! Very flavorful & moist! Their chicken is my go to plate that they serve with some pretty amazing hummus. Depending on your hunger the food can be JUST enough or perfect for leftovers as well. I really appreciate the service here as well. They take time to know you and just very welcoming. This is literally THE BEST Mediterranean food in the surrounding areas! I've tried so many from Santa Monica, Culver City, Venice Beach, Marina del Rey, all the way down to Redondo Beach. This is the best. I had their chicken kabob plate, falafel wrap, salad, fries, and baklava. Every single item was so good and flavorful. I am talking about the entrees, sides, and sauces... everything was on point. I used to go to Playa's Pita all the time, which was also extremely good. I am sorry to see them go, but extremely happy that Time Out Cuisine has come in their place and have really improved everything. Looking forward to many visits! read more

Really enjoyed both the crispy and soft pita and the delicious pickles! The lentil soup was well seasoned. My fatoush salad with chicken was perfect and the crispy pita a gave it a nice crunch. My husband enjoyed his shawarma sandwich and fries- the pickle was a nice addition inside the sandwich. The baklava was delicious too! We will definitely be back with our kids next time!
