Some of the best service I've ever received. I work in the area and came by for the first time for lunch the other day. The owner, Gaby (who I didn't know at the time), was hard at work, running around the entire restaurant making sure every customer was satisfied. It was a hot day and he gave me a free bottle of water after I ordered my food. Service was quick and attentive, all from Gaby himself. He checked in multiple times to make sure I didn't need anything. I ordered the cilantro salmon plate and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I cleaned the entire plate of course, and as I was leaving I thanked him for his amazing service. We then had a brief chat and he told me a bit about the history of the restaurant. As he was doing so, another lady walked in and made a comment about his aquarium. He then even offered her some guppies to take home. Even in this brief encounter it was very clear how much Gaby cared about his restaurant and customers. This is the second time I have placed an order with this restaurant and they have cancelled it with no explanation. This is unacceptable. The last time I called and they said they had run out of chicken. I had tried to order it multiple times and they simply kept cancelling the order. No call or communication. Awful restaurant! When cooked, chicken can be a nutritious choice, but raw chicken can be contaminated with Campylobacter, Salmonella, or Clostridium perfringens germs. What happened to Gaby's? I used to come here all the time. However, my experience today wasn't great. I ordered takeout and was told my order would be ready in 10 mins. I arrive and the order apparently wasn't even started. So I waited an additional 10+ when I arrived. I ordered the Chicken Kabob and the Shrimp Kabob. First, the dishes were nothing like I remembered. The chicken kabob was not even presented on a skewer and the meat was well overcooked. There were no grilled peppers whatsoever, I received one sliver of an onion and a very small tomato. That's all! The same goes for the shrimp kabob. Shrimp was small not on a skewer and and hardly any grilled vegetables at all. And the salad was old and wilted and just thrown together with no dressing. Also when I asked for more pita bread, the server was hesitant saying we are running low on pita. This was not what I expected from Gaby's and sad to see this place become a shell of it's former self. Hopefully they turn things around. read more
