We had plenty of food and then some! The brisket was PHENOMENAL, the pulled pork was moist and delicious, and the chicken was seasoned to perfection!! The sides were just as delicious as the meats. The potato salad, mac and cheese and barbecue beans were off the charts!! Everything was packed up so nicely in trays that set rate on top of our sterno racks. We stopped in at Slow & Low BBQ in Viera and tried a spread of items that really showed off what this local joint does best--bold flavors, great textures, and a relaxed vibe that invites you to sit back and stay awhile. The Ribs were a standout. Tender with just enough pull from the bone, they had a great smoky bark and a balance of sweet and savory in the sauce that didn't overpower the meat. Chicken Tenders were a pleasant surprise--crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and clearly made fresh. They'd be a hit for both kids and adults. The French Fries with BBQ Rub are a must-try side. That rub takes them to another level--salty, smoky, a little sweet, and totally addictive. We were picking at them long after we were full. Broccoli Salad offered a fresh, crunchy counterpoint to all the rich BBQ. Took the family in last night for dinner as we just moved here a few weeks ago. We were the only people seated inside. A few others were outside at the bar. Took our order and food came quick. Baby back ribs were good. Sweet tea was good. Garlic bread Texas toast was yum. I had sides of mashed sweet potatoes and fried okra which were just ok. Hubby ordered pulled pork in Texas toast and fries. He thought the meat tasted bland like it needed to be seasoned. He did add sauce which helped but thought it would have been better if the meat had been seasoned with some rub to make the flavor deeper. The fries came out hot and crispy with no seasoning. My daughter had chicken tenders and fries. Said they were ok. Service was good and attentive. Lots of options for sauce. read more

We went to Slow & Low for a family dinner (party of 7!) while on vacation for a baseball tournament. Three of us ordered the pulled pork sandwich, a full rack of ribs, Dino nuggets for the 2 kiddos, and a burger. Every single one of our plates had cold food!! Everyone! We all got 2 different sides to choose from for our meal, and those were also cold. One of our persons got a baked potato and the butter never melted. The Mac & cheese was so cold it congealed, and multiple people got this side. The kiddos both got kids meals, Dino nuggets & fries. Dino nuggets were perfectly crisp and hot, fries, not so much. The ribs & baked potato plate, were the worst. Everything felt like it came straight out of the fridge. We told our server and she did NOTHING about it!! She came back & asked us how things were and we told her the cold food situation and she said "she would be right back," 3 TIMES! The last time she came back she asked US what we wanted her to do. We were all mind blown! We told her, again, for the 4th time, and she said she would tell the kitchen again. Finally when the bill came and the rib plate wasn't eaten she asked if we wanted it taken off the bill or made a new one, to-go. We told her multiple times that we would have to go home, and heat the food up, to enjoy the food, at the temperature it's supposed to be. She never took the food off the bill and she gave us the same rib plate order, to-go. From an actual food taste standpoint, it was the worst bbq I've ever had! I eat out A LOT and have experienced several restaurants, with lots of different types of food, in lots of different cities. The pork was extremely dry and not seasoned, the bbq sauce was sitting in the heat and was very vinegar-y, not Carolina style at all. The Mac & cheese was very mushy (noodles & sauce), the turnip greens were very bland, the baked beans were decent and tasty, the green beans (canned) were over cooked and the ends of the ribs (both orders) were burnt & dry. Food: Just okay. Missing the mark on the sides. The meat was flavorless and dry. Especially the pork. Service: It started well, but by the end we left feeling as if we did something wrong. Mid meal I found hair in my food...clearly not my hair (my hair was braided to the back and I wore a ball cap). Mentioned the hair to (I assume) an owner and he did right by asking if I wanted anything else, and removing the meal from the bill. I didnt want anything further...I paid the bill, still tipped fairly, however was ignored when exiting. No "Thank you for coming", or "Have a good day"...just a look and turn away continuing to converse with whom I assume was a supplier of sort. Ambiance: Definitely could use a monthly deep clean. I hate when restaurants go cheap in the bathroom. This is a commercial business, get industrial toilets and sinks. The booth is patched with black duck tape. The TVs in the booths are filthy. If the hair in the food never happened, it would have been 3 stars because the person I was with enjoyed their food. They went down to 2 stars for the hair on my plate...and down to 1 for the lack of customer service when they had to remove the meal from the bill. The place was empty (literally)...so the servers were a guy and girl, of whom I assume we're the owners. So my expectation for a goodbye greeting, is not unreasonable. He was standing 2 feet from the door. Sucks to have to comp a meal, but you did the right thing. Why lose a potential return customer over one bad meal? Keep up the good customer service throughout the experience. We won't be back. read more

My family was very excited to take us all to this restaurant because of the great experiences they've had here in the past. Overall, the evening started off well--the server was very friendly and the food was delicious. However, the margarita I ordered didn't taste like it had any alcohol and didn't resemble a typical margarita. It wasn't a big deal to me, and I politely asked for a different drink. Unfortunately, the situation took a turn when the manager, John, came to our table and argued about removing the drink from the bill. I found his attitude unnecessarily confrontational and unprofessional, especially given how minor the issue was. It was disappointing to have such a negative interaction in what was otherwise a nice evening. A little more understanding and professionalism from management would have gone a long way. read more

Cafeteria quality food. I bet most of the business comes from out of towners visiting the stadium. Portions are tiny but didn't want more of this. Meat was not very tender and there were no knives provided. Waitress dropped food and disappeared so we couldn't ask for one. Warning if you sit inside it's no cooler than being outside. The restaurant is open to the outside. Booths are tight and the seats in rough shape. I don't see this business lasting very long here. This is a one and done. read more

Dined in late on a Saturday night and it wasn't bad at all. Our food was good and very tasteful. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and they were good.. I had the exploding potato w/brisket and it was delicious. Service and ambiance was very nice even though it was late. My daughter had the brisket sandwich, and my husband had the brisket plate both enjoyed their meals with no complaints. Fantastic. Me and my roommate are brand new to the area and wanted to get some lunch because we just moved in and don't have groceries. This place did not disappoint! Our server, John, was super friendly and punctual and he made our experience all the more impressive. We were both more than satisfied with our lunch menu specials and that goes with the taste, price, and portion size. Ashley was the only server today and she was so good. She was friendly, professional and polite. Being by herself she was on point and was ready with sauces, napkins or refills before we could ask. The manager was also helpful with cleaning and customer care also and we thought that was great. The service was great, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Yikes. Very disappointing experience last night and did not even get to eat! First and foremost, I am a very patient. I walked into this establishment expecting a wait and a little chaos even with the crowds from the parade. The restaurant was full and maybe 15 people waiting for a table. Honestly, this should not overwhelm a prepared staff. My complaint is not related to the food. This is a management/ staff issue. I walked in, approached the hostess podium, an older lady stood there appearing to figure out tables and who had what. She never looked up. She's busier than normal, so understandable. She then walks away, comes back, a server joins her and complains about the crowd. Still, she never looks up. I waited about 5 minutes and never received acknowledgement. This is unacceptable. I am not complaining about waiting for 5 minutes. I expected to wait 30 minutes minimum for a table. I am complaining that I stood in front of your staff and no one could bother to say , " hey, we'll be right with you!" It is incredibly rude. This is the impression customers receive- that they are in the way, not welcome, and you could care less if they walk away. Will not be back. Ever. read more

This was a very pleasant surprise, great service and good food on a quite Saturday night... We came in to celebrate our daughter's engagement (a few months old now but nevertheless we wanted to mark the special occasion by having a nice, big meal) on what turned out to be a slow Saturday night for this place. We were sat quickly, found our seats comfortable and then started our experience. The entire experience was superb - the service was attentive and friendly (our waiter being the chatty kind which I really like), our food was made to order, came out hot, and there was plenty of it. Most of the folks around the table had their turkey special while I had the brisket (I can never skip brisket). All of it was flavorful and made even better with the homemade sauces readily available on the table. For desert we shared this behemoth of a desert with fried bananas and ice cream and though I would have loved to have eaten it all myself, there was really no chance - it was big. I've always wanted to try their beach-side location but just never have gotten around to it. I'm so glad we got to try them here. First time here we ordered the big pretzel came out burnt the burnt ends as appetizer for $9.99 had 6 small pieces in it. ( they weigh it she says) Brunswick stew is extremely spicy. I love Slow and Low BBQ. Been going to the Cocoa Beach location for years now. Now that they have a location closer I was thrilled to give it a try. The pulled pork and sliced beef was moist and had a nice smokey taste. I really enjoyed the mac n cheese but the potato salad had way to much onion and made it somewhat unenjoyable. I was hoping the food would be as good as the original location, but no dice. Also the service here was a little off too and our server seemed very confused. When we arrived it seemed nobody knew who should seat us. Our server delivered plain tea instead of sweet. Forgot the garlic toast until the end of the meal. No butter for the sweet potato was ever delivered even after asking twice. I know that newly opened locations have obstacles. At least the food was good. I'll give it a try again after a few months. Hopefully much would have improved by then. read more

Honestly! As a food service professional I don't post reviews... I hate the negative ones! But in this case I MUST!! I will not be going back here! I was VERY disappointed! My pulled turkey was drier than a popcorn fart! I come from the belief that "good" BBQ shouldn't have to be smothered in sauce! It should be moist and tender as is... Hence the "slow and low" terminology! I had to drown the meat in sauce just so I could swallow it! See pic I posted! The sweet potato came wrapped in foil with a slit down the middle. Your potato doesn't really need to be cooked in foil, it's a waste of $$$ and labor! My potato had pieces of metal down inside of the part that was supposed to be edible!! WOW GUYS!! See pic I posted! Sadly, the greens were not very flavorful! And my corn muffins were dry AF! With no butter to moisten them up! Ordered for takeout. Spent $95 with tip for 3 meals and 3 additional sides/appetizers. Picked up and upon returning home I realized 1 complete meal and 2 of the sides/appetizers were missing. So after spending $95 including tip, have to drive back to restaurant, wait for the missing items and drive home and now the other 2 meals are completely cold. A simple checklist in the restaurant would have prevented all this mixup. I only wish I could have taken the tip back for my gas and time read more

I've eaten here a few times, and the food is generally good. However the service leaves a lot to be desired. Staff disappears entirely for loooong minutes - as in there's no staff at all visible anywhere. No one on the floor, no one behind the bar, no one greeting... just a few seated customers. You are lucky to get your drink refilled, or even find someone to refill your drink if you go looking. The last two times I went, I didn't even get seated - I gave up and left after waiting one intermediate forever for someone to surface and show me to a seat. read more

i'm a local, I've been here many of times since my last review/visit. I usually come here for the wings. I came in on a Monday, 4/8/2019 after a call for a pickup order for 50 wings and waffle fries @ 8pm. Half was mild, and the other half was with the sweet fire flavor. Both of these flavors are the most popular out of all the flavors. When i got there about 8pm they were just getting everything together. As I was getting ready to pay the lady and she mentioned that the wings were fried a little hard, and asked if i wanted them to re-cook them. I said no, because i didn't have the time to wait for another 50 wings to be cooked. I requested a side of mild & sweet fire sauce because the wings did look a little dry in which they didn't charge me for. Therefore, i paid and left. Got home, we all was ready to eat, and begin to eat...but the wings were, not some but all the wings were fried hard, not just a little. Nobody liked the wings...they're still sitting in a fridge now. The sauce tasted great, but i never experienced this before here. I prefer my wings not be fried hard at all...but i didn't think it was a big deal when she told me they were fried "a little hard". Unfortunately this was not a great experience...I've had better here, and was a little upset we spent $55 for something we were not pleased with. read more
