Spectrum is the garbage heap on the 'spectrum' of worldwide broadband capabilities. Spectrum would still rank in the bottom if it was in a 3rd world country. The network hickups and farts it's way through service. You're in the middle of a great episode of something, or decide to switch devices and it just stops inexplicably. Maybe it starts again but most likely you'll need to restart the TV, Modem etc. and maybe you'll have service again. But maybe not. No one knows. I spend $10/month on a modem rental that will only handle one device at a time. They are unable to deliver on their Ultimate 100 speeds. I have never tested above 25 download, 11 upload--but if you try to drop the service it's dial up for you. Thanks to back room dealings with Fios, they've made sure you will never have access to competitive service though you're pay for 'premium'. I just want decent internet service for the 1-2 hours of the day (and occasional weekend) when I'm home and want to internet. Sadly, because of corruption, we're stuck 20 years behind pretty much everyone but paying like it's 'the best'. If you're lucky enough to have an option and not live under this monopoly, choose a different company. *edit* I have found their customer support staff to be polite even in the face of having to support a failing service. Kudos to these people for getting up everyday and being professionals while having to work for a garbage company. read more

I've been to this store 4 times in the last couple of weeks for replacement remote controls. You walk in they just hand you one no questions asked. They never fully work. Some will turn on your tv but you can't change the channel or you might get one that doesn't turn on your tv but you can change the channel. I mentioned to the young lady who was handing them out this is the fourth time I've been here for a new remote. Do any of them work. She said how am I supposed to know? lol okay. I guess time warner had such a bad reputation that they've changed their name to sphincter or something but it's still awful. I noticed a few of my regular channels were no longer available so I called and I guess I now have to pay even more for the channels I use to get with my package. Oh yeah they had just raised my monthly bill a few months ago. So basically I'm paying more for less channels. This company sucks read more

I called to set up my appointment and explained that I want to put cable in my house for 2 floors. Everything was ok until the technician gets there barely enters the house and states he cannot install because on his paperwork if only states 1st floor. ( I believe that because of the heat, Michael Gonzalez the technician really didn't want to install on two floors). The technician states that he has to call to confirm he goes to his truck and never returns to the house. I then receive a call from "Eddie Fernandez" the representative of the technician and he repeats what the technician tells me and states that we need to call customer service. I call customer service and speak with Carl whose tells me in their computer system it shows 2 residences, the only way to remedy this is to go to a spectrum store and show them a lease. My 92 year old grandmother lives and owns the house in which she lived for 50 years. They requested that she bring her deed to the store in 100 degree weather. This makes no sense that we have to prove to a cable company that this is a 2 level house. 1 family lives in the house. So as a result we have to be without cable for the entire weekend with no guarantee that they will be able to install on Monday. If Verizon was cheaper I would have remained with them. The funny thing is we had time warner before we had Verizon and we didn't have this issue. They just trying to scam you for more money by designating what type of household that you live in and pay taxes for, so that they can charge you more money. HELP ME UNDERSTAND read more

Wouldn't recommend TWC to my worst enemy. I've been asking for copies of my statements for weeks now and still haven't received them. Not only was I told today that it would cost me $10.00 to receive statements of bills that I paid for, but I was also stunned to hear that it costs $5.00 to speak to a customer service rep when you call their main number. read more

Very pissed with twc called them for basic internet to use for school they offered me a package deal of internet and "basic" tv they call it but i told them my building already provided channels 1-11 for free thw lady tells me no for 10 dollars more then what you qanna pay for inter net i can give you a deal with more channels then i have plus higher spead internet for 42 and change a month i said as long as its more then channels 1-11 sure why not cable guy comes sets everything up and goes "i see you already have basic cable why woulf yu pay for it i ask what he means and he turns on my tv and changes the channels 1-11 on the box and goes thats what i mean its the same as what yu already have" i paid 42.49 on September 28th by credit card a week later a bill came in the mall saying i have to pay 58.69 by October 19th thats not even a full month of service befoe the next bill came ands its 17 dolls more a month later when i agreed to upgrade to a deal for 42.29 for 12 months dont buy twc its just a head ache now im stuck for 2 weeks tryna cancel my services read more

My bill was being raised so on March 17, 2018 I visited the Spectrum store at Queens Center Mall to inquire about my options to keep it at the same rate. In order to qualify for the lower rate we needed to create a new account under the name of another household member who would be considered a "new customer." We accepted to do this, but had to change our phone number. We had gone through this process a few years ago and were able to keep the same number. Not this time. Since I was inquiring about the higher bill, I had the billing statement for the account they closed that day and I specifically asked the representative if I should be paying that bill and she said we did not have to pay it and we would be getting another statement for the new account. Days later I got a new bill for almost $400. I returned the equipment at the Queens Center Mall store on March 24, 2018 (the weekend after my first visit) and again was told by a representative that I did not have a balance after returning the equipment. On April 1, 2018 I received an email saying my account was past due. I called Spectrum asking what this message meant since I had been told twice that I had no balance. The representative told me she saw a balance of about $60, but that would be settled by a supervisor and was again told I did not have to pay this. The week of April 23, 2018 I received yet another bill of $61.99. I called Spectrum on April 27, 2018 asking for clarification for this balance since I had been told by three of their representatives (2 at the store and 1 over the phone) that I did not have to pay anything. The representative said a supervisor had in fact checked, but had determined there was a balance on the account. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he could not explain how three people had told me I did not have to pay anything since it was clear there was a balance. He said it was "simple math." Simple math that none of the representatives I spoke to were able to do. He did apologize for the wrong information others provided, but was in no other way accountable for it. He said there was nothing he could do for me and I would have to pay the balance. Since the erroneous information was delivered by them and I am still a customer, I think it is unacceptable that they refused to honor the information I received on 3 different occasions. I was proactive on each occasion and spent (more like wasted) time asking Spectrum to clarify my balance and only yesterday I realized they provided wrong information each time. Customers end up paying for the poor training and lack of accountability by Spectrum. This was a very poor customer service experience and I am glad my area has started offering Fios. read more
