Hands down the worst customer service ever. I used to rave about Timothy's and their event hall. Sadly, they have ruined that for me. My niece had her prom at Timothy's Banquet Hall this past Friday night. A server spilled a plate of hot wings and hot sauce down the back of my niece's prom dress. I called Timothy's, and spoke with the Banquet Manager, (Heather). I requested that they reimburse of for the dry cleaning expense. She informed me she had to clear that with her manager and she would call me by end of day. Two days later, I call her back for an answer. She had an employee return my call a few minutes ago with a message that the manager does not feel it is their responsibility to pay for the dry cleaning. I personally have worked in food and beverage, I have even spilled something on a guest a time or two. The difference is....my manager instantly resolved the issue and accommodated the guest. Let me also point out that neither manager had the courtesy to call me back. Timothy's has lost my business because of one reason....lack of customer service. read more

Wilmingtonians, don't be fooled. Just because Timothy's is on the riverfront does not automatically make it worth your time. Generic as could be, Timothy performs as expected- generic food, drink, and decor. I can't recommend that you stop in, when better options are just as close, but if you do, keep it simple- grab a beer and an app and sit outside on a nice day. The Crabby Fries are good- French Fries with a liberal dose of Old Bay. Beer selection is decent- you'll find your dogfish here, at least. The bathroom is bizarre- a TV in the only corner that is can't be seen while doing your business. Service does nothing to add to the experience. Never felt like any of my waiters particularly wanted to be there. Again, go to Iron Hill or something. Nothing too special here! read more

Decided to come here instead of drop squad and it was the best experience we've had on the waterfront. Much better than the rude, always closed drop squad. Who is closed on a Saturday at 1 pm while entire staff is inside but the doors locked. So we came to Timothy's. We got seated with a server named Matt. Made the experience that much better. Very good attitude. Made up for the rudeness of drop squad. Our food came out quick (burgers). Cooked good. Some of the guests were quite rude to the staff. I was surprised they kept their cool but they did. But next time we come in. We will be back and request Matt to be our server again. He made the experience that much better. read more

Came here specifically for football. They do have a lot of large tvs(more than 10). The bartender was very nice. She was welcoming. They just seem like they don't know who they are trying to be. They offer sports betting but have the servers were ties and sweater vests. No rhyme or reason to anything. Most of the customers weren't buying anything beside lotto and pacing around watching the Tv's. Food specials were nothing special. Stay away from the nachos. They were bland bagged. chips with some cheese and lettuce and tomato. The pizza was very cheesy and a good value for $7 considering. The lunch or dinner menu looked overpriced and Unappealing. I will probably not come back unless someone I'm with really wants to come here. I won't give anymore of my money for bland food and sub-par atmosphere. I called for pick-up after work. It is located right across the Westin on the riverfront. I got the chicken quesadilla ($10.50 and crabby fries ($8.50). The quesadilla was pretty dry and bland but I asked for extra sour cream so it was okay again. The crabby fries come with this sauce that is pretty tasty (white creamy). Order food today thru Uber Eats, we ordered crab cakes, turkey burger and Jamaican Jerk dry rub wings. The food was a waste of money $49.50 down the drain. Initially we rated the burger a thumbs up but then when my husband and bit into the burger it wasn't fully cooked. The crab cake was basically breading the asparagus was cold and the wings dry!! Dry rub is suppose to be juicy wings with seasoning, these wings were dry on the inside and the out! Never again! We were super hungry and totally dissatisfied. Timothys has definitely changed. Since the weather was so nice, we decided to eat on the patio. The service was o.k. and our drinks were good. They bring you out some chips with warm cheesy dip which would have been great with the beer if the chips weren't stale. For entrees we had the crab cake sandwich with slaw, the slaw is very good and the sandwich was good as well. Not sure if that was tartar sauce it came with, but the cocktail sauce was good instead. We also ordered skillet fries, typical bar grub, eh it was just o.k. The prices are reasonable and the service is just fine. If your taking in a Blue Rocks game, it's close by and a nice choice to grab a bite before the game and do some shopping/walking on the river walk. read more

Watch your money when sitting at the bar. I was sitting at the bar with a pile of money(pot) on the bar with my drink and cell phone next to it. My girlfriend had also left money next to her drink she had intended to buy shots for her friends with. She gets up for a second and the next thing I know one of the bar tenders walks by and takes both pots. I told one of the other bar tenders and he said oh she thought it was left for tip money. Not only that but it also took ten minutes to get a drink. Normally a bar tender would ask if you want another one when you're empty or before they take your glass. Our other friend ordered nachos and maybe had two or three of them and put them down and was talking to someone when the bartender threw the nachos that we just ordered away. When we asked about it they said we have to review video surveillance before we can give you more nachos and after reviewing their surveillance they said it looks like you ate all the chicken off them so we can only give you a half of order. The seating was a bit hectic and the wait staff was really slow. No one said hello for the first 5-10 mins. Luckily we were all from out of town and had some catching up to do, but it was still a bit long to wait. The waitress walked by and yelled she would be with us in a moment, but we still waited another 5 mins after that. She was very sweet but didn't seem to take much interest in us. She got our drink order and returned with those, not in a timely manner either. Ordered our food, which also took forever, but was AMAZING!! Even my kids were happy and they are picky eaters. The menu definitely has something for everyone. The crabby appetizer was on point. I got the alfredo with shrimp, crab and asparagus. YES YES AND YES!! My son's burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and he ate the whole thing in 1 sitting, that never happens. My brother had the stuffed tilapia and WOW did it look amazing, he cleaned his plate. The waitress walked passed a few times and asked if I wanted more beer but never asked my children or cousin if they needed a refill on their drinks. She really didn't check in on us much and definitely didn't even make any kind of effort after the bill was paid. As soon as I put the tip in and set aside, she swooped in and picked it up and never said anything else. No thank you, no "Hey, would you mind if I took the check so that I may close out."... Nothing. Just like many others, the food is worth 5 stars.. But your servers are just not up to par, the one I had anyways. If I wasn't so dead set about making sure I always tip at least 10% for the crappiest service ever, I would had tipped a little less. I visited this restaurant on December 22.2018 for my niece's 18th birthday party. There were approximately 23 guests present and I would have to say this was one of my least favorite dining experiences. The service was slow. One half of the group received their food order before the other half. Our server was rude and inefficient. When our meal was served she never came back to ask if we needed anything else or if we would like dessert. I don't think that they are capable of serving large parties. Although it was a Saturday, the restaurant was not crowded. I complained to the manager that when our meal was complete our dishes were not cleared (see pictures below). Her apology was insincere. She is probably used to people complaining. The entire meal totalled almost $700 including the tip. It was not worth it. I will not be going back to Timothy's on the Riverfront. read more

So bad! First of all the restaurant was empty, that should have been our first sign, then only a handful of people at the bar. We chose to eat at the bar. The barstools were rickety and unstable, the menus were sticky and had limited food selections, and the the place just seemed overall rundown. The onion soup was half decent but only had a few onions, there were very few pieces of bread, the broth had no depth of flavor, the cheese was barely melted on and definitely was not put under a broiler to crisp the cheese edges. Then we received the main dishes. I had the Alfredo with blackened chicken and my boyfriend had the Shrimp, Crab & Asparagus Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was atrocious, it must have been from a can. I asked the bartender if it was and she said, "no, it's house made". If that's the case, that's scary. I could only handle a few bites and had to stop eating. My boyfriend had maybe 10 bites and was sick the rest of the night. The bartender was nice enough to take those off our bill but it was still an overall bad experience. Which, I'm very sad about. We had our first date at the Exton/Lionville location and go back frequently as well as frequently go to the West Chester location. Both of those, we LOVE! On 4/24 I visited this establishment for the first time. We had a rsvp for 20 people at 7pm and Gail was the manager on duty. As soon as our table was seated, the waiter came and explained that one of the employees in the past there has charged incorrect amounts to credit cards when processing multiple receipts/cards for a large party. As a result, we would not be able to receive are own individual checks, and had to use multiple cards to split one large check. My fiance and I knew this was going to be a disaster as soon as she heard that, as we dine out often and that shows complete incompetence. Sure enough when the bill came we were given one large check and told the waiter how much money to run on each card. The sign of a horrible waiter is when they never write anything down! My fiance even asked the waiter if he was sure he knew the correct amounts and he assured us he could remember! One minute later our waiter comes back and tells me that he ran my card for the entire bill for 20 people by accident! Oops! Gail-Restaurant Manager got involved when my waiter charged the correct amount to the card...but wasn't able to provide any voided receipt showing the credit back to my card. Every consumer knows any business can and they always do provide a voided receipt! Gail-Manager proceeds to tell me that although I have 2 receipts showing charges close to $200 on my card, that the first transaction won't post to my card and I should see it come off in the next couple days on my credit card statement. The correct bill and only bill we signed for was $40!!!!! Today I have my bank statement showing the $40 and a separate transaction of $20.99 which was unauthorized and been disputed as of today with Capital One!! Oh but I guess I'm supposed to just be happy the full bill never posted to my card though.. It gets worse in the end....Gail-Manager said the worst thing I have ever heard a MANAGER say to a CONSUMER EVER!!!! The manager told me don't worry..If it turns out that I'm lying and we do run the full amount to your card you can just dispute it because you only signed for the $40!!!!! WELLS GUESS WHAT GAIL!!! Stopped in on a Sunday at 1pm for a birthday celebration. Six people. We were told they were short staffed but we could sit in the bar area which we did. We ordered apps and food and got our drinks. We waited patiently for an hour and 15 minutes. The bartender walked by us at least 4/5 times without any explanations. He finally came over at 2:20pm and said our food order never went in. Went for lunch Saturday after taking a trip to Qdoba on Market St just to find out they are not open on the weekends (only in Delaware). Was kinda empty for a Saturday afternoon but no complaints here. Very well decorated on the inside and spacious. TVs all around the place. Good service and they give you chips with a cheese dip so we did not need an appetizer. Entrees were reasonably priced. I got a the cajun cowboy wrap which is blackened chicken in a garlic and herb wrap with lettuce, cheese, tomato and this cattle rustler gold sauce and it was very good. When the traffic is disgusting and the weather congested, rest stops off Rt 95 won't cut it. In these circumstances, it's probably best to hold out until reaching Wilmington, Delaware. It is there, at the riverfront, via following signs around from the parking lot, that one can sit down in a booth or at the bar and have something hot and filling. For instance, one can get a wompin medium rare burger with smoked bacon and Monterey Jack cheese, or most any other cheese (including Bleu) or some other toppings. It is actually cooked medium rare, juicy, yummy, satisfying, and sitting between a country roll to make you curse the day you had that Burger King "bacon double cheeseburger" at Maryland House. It comes with one of a variety of sides, and even the french fries offer a twist with some sweet potatoes tossed in. (Best is that you get two topping and all the fixings with a side for $9.99) Alongside one can order a soothing drink from water to wine to an array of spirit-fueling kahlua beverages. And for those deterred by the burger, there are plenty of seafood, salad, sandwich, chile, soup, chicken, etc! entrees and starters to choose from. Afterward, one can hop right back onto 95 and head north. Or south. And really, whatever time seems as good as any to get Timothy's. read more

Timothy's is a mid-level restaurant sporting an Irish bar theme. The food is generally good (I especially like the bison burger and the crabcake sandwich) and the prices are average for a place like this. I've visited Timothy's many times and never had a bad food experience, and the service consistently runs a pretty tight range ("good"). In fact, I'd rate Timothy's as a 4 star place, but I put it over the top based on strong long-term consistency. The one crazy thing about this restaurant is the location: it is set in a dying retail area with its front door facing the water. There are signs to help you find it, so it is not exactly "hidden", but I am convinced that it'd rake in big money were it located somewhere more accessible. Our server swapped out the alfredo dish for another. Made reservations for Jul 4th specifically requesting a seat on terrace next to sidewalk. We were seated in the middle. At the request of a customer, a server dropped one of the umbrellas so that they can see. When I asked about umbrellas in our line of sight, I was told the people were leaving soon. Our server said anyone was welcome to drop their own umbrella, like we were going to ask the other customers if they wouldn't mind. The best part of this place I suppose is the location- right on the riverfront which is quite beautiful. If you're going to dine in, expect a "pub" appearance- lack of ambiance and commercialized seating... ...which is why we decided to dine outside on the patio where we could at least enjoy the scenic view. There was a beautiful replica of a Swedish ship visible to where we were sitting, and we were able to examine it after dinner. There were also hardly any patrons at the restaurant that Tuesday night which was very relaxing. The food was good, but not the best I've had. I had the French Dip sandwich that came with horseradish sauce which was subtle, but delicious. The portions were adequate, although the entree prices could have been slightly modified- and NOT on the high end either. There's also a full bar. My friend had a bikini martini that came in a typical glass which he enjoyed, but didn't opt for seconds. Our waiter seemed tired and bored, probably due to the lack of customer excitement that you could expect on the weekends. I would probably come back for drinks. It's weird when your experience doesn't match the other reviews but I had no problem with my visit an hour ago. It was New Year's Eve so there was just a few people sitting at the bar and none in the dining room. The bartender took care of us and checked back several times. The cheeseburger and bison burger were excellent. Lots of tvs and a weird combination of music. More of a pub scene but that's what the area needs. I'd go back. I've been the Timothy's many times over the past few years for happy hour or on a Sunday afternoon during football season and always found it enjoyable. But my experience this past Friday was extremely disappointing. I made reservations for 10 people a week earlier as one of my favorite local bands was performing that night. My party arrived to chaos. The very young ladies at the hostess stand seemed overwhelmed by the steady stream of people waiting to come in. My party was asked to wait while our tables were being prepared and once seated nearly 20 minutes later we found that there was no server assigned to our area! I literally had to take everyone's drink order, go to the bar to place them and then bring the beverages back to our tables! Our food orders also had to be placed at the bar but at least someone did come from the kitchen to deliver them. However once done eating, we had to clear our tables of the dirty dishes ourselves! Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought this was a restaurant and bar??? I will say that everyone enjoyed their meal, the drinks were good (thank you Donald) and the band, Best Kept Soul, always gives a first-class performance. But I don't know that I will be stopping by Timothy's again anytime soon, if at all... read more

I was there Weds around 540pm. It was a very nice day and their was 1 small family out side. We were seated outside immediately. I waited 20 mins no server no drinks. I went inside told the hostess which she sent someone right out. The hostess apologized and said she would discount the meal. While waiting for our food I watched one server drop a tables drinks and another table completely neglected. Bill came not discounted, but who cares i just wanted to leave. MY family and i went there for dinner, meals are overpirced, $19 & up fountain drinks used to be free refills but now are $3 each, what a ripeoff. We wont be back. The front entrance carpet was rolling up and dirty along with the windows , Walls, plexy glass, tables are not clean. Staff are just lurching around the Register & not professional. Tip money is already calculated at the bottom of reciept to 3 to choose from. Hmmmm. I'll start this off by saying I would like to give this place another chance, to give it a higher score. So we had a hard time finding it, and when we did, there weren't many people there. It was Sunday so that made sense. The food ended up being like diner food and wasn't very exciting. I had the green apple salad and I thought it could have used more gorgonzola cheese. The greens were confusing - it had mostly iceberg lettuce, with a few pieces of spring mix on the outside. They could have classed it up by using all spring mix! My dining companion had a wrap and he said it was alright, but the fries tasted like they were frozen fries, which is a no-no. Our waitress was nice, but she didn't ask us if we wanted dessert or offer a dessert menu. She just brought over the check after taking our plates. Had a great early evening with new friends form work at Timothy's. The waitstaff is great, and knows the menu, the waitress shared that her favorite item on the menu was the crab cake sandwich. I chose to have the soup of the day, chicken and dumplings......eeeeh not bad, also I had the Apple and Nut salad. I think it was missing the cranberries now that I think of it but it had grannysmith apples with almonds, and bluecheese dressing with rasberry vinagrette and I had my salad with grilled chicken. The salad was huge and very tasty, but I could have made it myself..... in fact I plan to give it a try. I am sure I will be back to try the crab cakes : ) read more

We went here for Mother's Day brunch. It was my first time here. It's nice because it's right on the riverfront. Unfortunately we had a bad weather day when we went as it rained all day and it was cold. The food was good and I left stuffed. The only issue I had was that a lot of the food was cold because they did not use Sterno. They put the food in metal containers with a lid to open and shut. The problem was with all the opening and shutting the food would get cold. Other than that we had a nice time for Mother's Day. read more

This is experience was different as outside seating is first come first serve so was shown blatant bias when a table opened up and was told it was reserved for another party who clearly was Not there. After more than 15 minutes the party still did not show. Fortunately another table open up and we were seated. The waitress was unpleasant and indifferent plus she got the order incorrect.
