Ahhhh...the old time drive in! This place is a long time business in the warr acres area. They serve the basic drive in all American Type food. This includes hamburgers, coneys, corn dogs, the huge Indian taco, fries, and onion rings. They have a really good Frito chili pie. You can get it with onions and jalapeños. The Indian taco is huge and enough for 2-3 people. It's a Wednesday special. Over the last few years; they have added additional sides such as okra, fried pickles and fried zucchini. They serve these with a side of ranch. They have the best ice cream! It's an old fashioned ice cream machine that tastes better than any ice cream around. You can get a cone, cup, dipped cone, shake. You won't be disappointed! Now, let's get to my favorite item here: the Dr. Peppers! These are the most amazing, sweet dr peppers you will find. You then add them to their shaved ice, and you have the best drink ever! Yes, they cost more than your corner gas station, but they are well worth it! They have very limited seating inside consisting of a couple bar stools and a small booth type seat. They do have two tables outside for nice weather days. You may encounter a long line. They do cook to order, so it may take longer. But they work as fast as possible to deliver your food quick and hot. Talk about a throw back to an old school dinner. The place smelled like it's been cooking there for a long time and the food looked delicious. I went there with one goal in mind and that was to try the Indian taco. As we were almost completing our order the nice lady there sold us on trying their 3 layered strawberry Persian cake. We sat outside since it was a nice day out and they brought the food to us. The Indian taco looked delicious and was scarfed down real quick. It could use some extra lettuce and some more flavorful beans but it did hit the spot. After that was the cake and let me tell you it was so delicious that I will be specifically coming back just for the cake, but while I'm there definitely try something new. Not advisable for travelers on a time schedule. It's pretty far off the interstate and it's not fast food. You have to wait while they cook it. Since Covid, we've become road warriors, because I can't handle wearing a mask on airplanes and in airports. As a result, we've been eating a lot of fast food. We saw a drive through that's not part of a chain, we jumped on it. We got burger combos. They were good. We will probably stick with the usual fast food right off the freeway in the future. The place is called "Tim's Drive Inn." That's right. Two n's. This used to drive me crazy for the longest time, because an inn suggests that one can get lodging for the night. Tim does not have lodging available for the night. Which is probably a good thing because I can imagine how fat I would get if I stayed even just one night at Tim's Drive Inn. There's something about the food that's hard to describe. There's a Chinese takeout quality to it, because you're hungry almost immediately after you finish eating. If you make the mistake of staying at Tim's to eat (either inside the cramped little building or at the outside tables), then this quickly results in you ordering additional food items in an attempt to quash the hunger that seems to hit you only when you're at Tim's. Some food voodoo is happening here. More money ends up being spent here than intended. On the matter of taste: It's pretty good. It's standard, greasy, dive-like, drive-in food. The onion burgers are delicious, the chili dogs are delicious, and the corn dogs are kinda hit or miss. I've only heard about the deliciousness of the Indian Taco, which I'll have to try one of these days. They also have something on the menu called a "Burro." I'm assuming it is not in fact a small donkey, but a Burrito and they ran out of letters to spell it properly. Also, supposedly their Dr. Pepper is really special because they add extra syrup or something. This is one of my favorite drive-ins. First of all, they have the old style soft drinks. The Dr. Pepper tastes like it did in the 1960s. It's so good. Everything here reminds me of going out for a hamburger in the 60s (and yes, I do remember). They serve excellent milkshakes. They even have butterscotch. Growing up in Arizona, Indian Tacos are abundant, at the state fair and close to reservations or in the home of my neighbor. I grew up on them. I love them. They make my soul smile. I love mine with refried beans, lettuce, diced tomatoes, onion, salsa and a touch of sour cream. While I understand food differs from region to region, the Indian Taco is pretty smiliar here to the ones I had in AZ growing up. There is only 1 thing wrong with them. The bread. Tim's needs help with their bread. It's so dense and chewey... it's just wrong. I'd also suggest that they drain their beans befor putting them on this chewey bread, but they probably don't in hopes of helping the miserable bread. Here's the thing, if I hadn't grown up eating the best Indian Fry Bread/Indian Tacos on earth, I probably would have really liked this Indian Taco. I also have to admitt I ate quite a bit of it. (ok, less than half, but that's normal for me) I also ordered a strawberry shake. No, they don't typically go together, but heck I wanted a shake. The shake was pretty good too. I had the Indian taco from Tim's today and I thought it was not that great. It's nothing compared to Dan's. However, they deserve credit for having Indian tacos. I wouldn't recommend the salsa it comes with. It taste like the cheap salsa in a jar from the store. What I did was ate the Indian taco with leftover Taco Bell fire and hot taco sauce I had at home and it tastes much better! For the price it's not bad at all. I'm so disappointed. This place used to be out of this world! A new owner took over and started making changes immediately. Some were good changes...like they now accept debit/credit cards. Then they started messing with recipes...the Indian taco was something we would get a couple times each week; they've changed it and it feels like a frozen/defrosted bread that IS NOT fry bread and the mixture on top is just gross now. Although we stopped eating there, we still drove far out of route to get their cokes and paid triple what they would have been anywhere else because they were THAT GOOD. No more. Now they've done something to their machine and it's nothing but the same old coke that costs three times what they cost elsewhere. Such a shame.
