This seems to be our neighborhood Asian market so we gave it a go. There's a ton of stuff packed inside this store (feels a bit cluttered) but unable to find half of what we were looking for (chinese cooking wine, roti, Thai basil, Aroy D soups, frozen squid, etc. ) They don't have a lot of fresh fruits & veggies which was disappointing, but the staff was very friendly helping me find items on my list. read more

Pros: Great little Asian market right before entering the beautiful Florida keys. If you planned on using an Asian ingredient that you don't usually find at the regular grocery store, get them now, this is the last legit Asian market before the keys! We bought a perfectly ripe avocado, gas cans for my friends' broth stove, Japanese mochi green tea ice cream and Thai koala crackers. Located right off US&1 across the street from Neighborhood Walmart, it is easy to find and what they don't have at the big box store, just go to Tim's. He has just about everything imaginable to make a variety of asian influenced dishes. I also love their frozen product selection. The frozen Dumplings are a must in my house. Lately, I've been craving Dim Sum and I go there once a week to get my supply. Tim and his wife and sometimes his daughter is in there everyday running the store. Customer service is a hit and a miss depending on how busy they are tending to other customer's needs. Sometimes all they can do is point you in the right direction and you have to sift through to find what you need. If you cook any kind of Asian food from scratch, Tim's is a godsend and worth a trip, even from the Upper Keys where we do not have these ingredients. I agree that customer service and parking can be challenging when it's crowded, but it's worth waiting and then asking for help - they likely have what you came for! I went to the market today and everything was not fresh. The bean sprouts were in very bad condition. She went back to change it and he was very desrespectful and did not want to change it. They regurlarly come in a clear bag. He had them in a soup package. I was very upset. read more

Tried this market this past weekend and I liked it very much. Parking isn't plentiful, but you can bet on finding everything you need and more. The owners were also extremely sweet and helped me find ingredients I couldn't find on my own. My favorite part would be the clearly homemade goods and fresh eggs right at the front of the store. Southernmost asian grocery store. From ingredients, china, rice, limited vegetables, lots of bottled stuff. Unique fruit like Calamondin, I have not seen this fruit here in Miami. I absolutely love this place, best Asian grocery store in Florida, from where I've been. They have a huge selection of teas, fermented foods, and dried foods. I was visiting the Everglades National Park and came to the store only to get their lunch offering to go. All meals are made to order by their cook inside the kitchen in the store and served with either fried rice, steam rice, or fired noodle. You only need browse at the menu posted in front of the kitchen and tell someone what you want. On the day I came, there were other dishes that they were not listed like the the chicken roll. The food was fresh and pretty good. They gave a lot of food, so it was a good value for your money. read more

Tims is one of the best luxuries of living in Homestead. It truly is a superstore for all things Asian. We have oriental markets all over South Florida, but none can hold a candle to Tims. The rarest products from all over Asia can be found here and conveniently broken down by aisle: Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Phillipines, Korean, etc... There are fridges and freezers full of frozen delicacies as well as fresh vegetables. And the main reason why it is my most frequented establishment in Homestead? They make hands down best Chinese food in South Dade. Period. It's not your traditional Americanized deep fried, gravy or sugar sauced crap, but real deal traditional Chinese food. It's incredible! And lunches are under five bucks for a ton of food. They usually cook four specials for lunch and the leftovers are then put out buffet style on a warming station to buy by the pound at night. Really cool place with a large selection of food as well as tea and plates/silverware/figurines/cooking supplies. They also have a hot bar of food around lunch time (which I can never seem to get to in time to try it!). Friendly people work there too! Only thing I dislike is the very strong smell inside. I cannot put my finger on it. I don't think it's food. It's like a mixture of moth balls and......something else. It's very strong and hits you as soon as you walk in. I've been going here since I was very little and will still as long as they are open. They serve an amazing hot lunch, but both in price and taste as there is a kitchen in this small store. This store may not be for everyone as it is very cluttered due to the amount of merchandise they have in stock and smells if your not use to it due to the authenticity merchandise. Very authentic as far as the products they carry, I am Taiwanese and have been to several Asian countries and seen a lot of the items first hand overseas. When I passed by it looked shut down. VERY unfortunate to not be able to experience this place. I originally thought it was shut down but I was very wrong. The best oriental grocery in Miami Dade County. I have been shopping there for close to 40 years.

I walked out of that store happier than when I walked into the store. I wanted to make sushi ( avacado rolls) and was ready to leave the store with the products I was ready to purchase. When I got to the register the sweetest older lady looked at me and asked me... Where is your rice vinegar? I couldn't believe I forgot one of the most important items and I was just talking about it before entering the store. The lady was extremely knowledgeable of the products and gave me a thorough breakdown of how to get the best results for the dish I was attempting to create. I am so happy to step out of america into this store. It showed me that you don't have to be like most of these homestead assholes. These people rock! There customer service amazed me. I go here an average of once every two months. I believe its the largest oriental grocery store in south miami. There are larger stores in north east miami. It offers a good assortment of asian groceries and even a good variety of rice to choose from. The people are always friendly and the prices are competitive. The only negative thing i can think of is that on a couple of occasions i've come across a can of something that has passed its expiration date. To be fair its something you always have to watch for at small specialty grocers. read more

It is organized by country...Japan, China, Thailand, Korea, etc so if you are looking for a particular sauce or item you can easily find it! Tiny selection of fresh veg and meat... adequate frozen assortment.... Lots of tea!!! Tons of utensils, dishes, cooking apparatus, toys, and odds and ends! I have been to just about every oriental market in SoFla... PK(MIA), Lucky(MIA), Cho A Dong (FTL), Far East (FTL) just to name the most recognizable... All are good in their own way.... none of them have everything... I had the same experience in NY Chinatown so all you NY snobs can just hush! Importfoods.com fills in any spaces admirably (including fresh produce, keffir limes!!, from time to time). Just as in NY you have to hunt and pick for the best items and sometimes have to travel a bit to get just the right thing, the SoFla difference is that instead of going blocks we have to go miles to the next store!!
