Let me preface this review with I would love to go back again and give it a second chance because I think this place has some great potential to be a local hangout food place. A little more time between table attention than I was expecting, but our server was still very friendly. We had the Mac and cheese with the bacon and shrimp, the fish and chips. And margaritas. The margaritas are really good. I had two fish and chips were large pieces great flavor large portion. the coleslaw not so much. It was dry with a vinegary taste. The Mac and cheese was pretty good a lot of flavor. It would have been better without the shrimp. The service was great! Attentive, fun and engaging. We would come back just for her. Next the breakfast biscuits and gravy and the chicken fried steak. And a Bloody Mary. It was not what I was expecting. The gravy was an orange/brown color the biscuits were nothing to talk about not fluffy but not horrible. The gravy was spicy good flavor but not impressive. The chicken fried steak was slightly burnt and well as the English muffin. The eggs were undercooked I said I thought I wanted over medium whites done yoke runny. The sever told me that was over easy. The whites were not done. The hash brown came out in a thick square mushy there was cheese in it but has a slightly burnt taste to it. I'm not sure if it was the cheese flavor or what it was. Lastly the Bloody Mary was not great the presentation was lacking not celery the table next to us got celery in their and there was a small olive I asked for a second. We had one person come to our table but didn't take our order because we ordered alcohol. Second sever was in a rush got my eggs wrong. Third server was nice seemed irritated that we had been picked up. Watch him with his other tables he would have been enjoyable to have as a server. Our sever came back three time to get paid. I've driven by this place for years and always wanted to stop in. One night my repeatedly indecisive family couldn't decide where to eat so I decided to try it. Chalk me up for the win! When we got in we were quickly impressed with the small town family atmosphere. And I mean small in the best of ways. It's not a huge place but has a great bar with a few TVs, great draft beer selection and ample seating. We didn't wait for a seat and we're immediately greeted by a hilarious waiter who had my wife and rolling from drinks to dessert. We order some beers because we knew we were gonna need some time to wade through the menu. Think Cheesecake Factory diversity without all the fluff. Everything looked good and I mean everything because we were watching all the food come out to the other tables. We settled on the Jalapeño Cream Cheese burger and the BBQ Bacon burger. Both were unbelievably juicy and the fries were to die for (but we all lived). Wife had the fish and chips with a side salad instead of the chips. The house pesto dressing is a must try. Also they make a homemade 1000 Island that rivals any 1000 island or fry sauce I've ever had. Even had a touch of spice. Lastly my other son had the bacon and shrimp Mac and cheese and he didn't talk until it was a clean plate. We came here after we went to the gluten free expo a couple of weeks ago. This little dive was featured on DD&D so we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I'm glad we stopped by. The service was amazing. The waiter was friendly and explained the different dishes that were on the menu. I started with their fresh green salad that was piled high and served with creamy pesto dressing that was so delicious. Their white bean and steak pizza on Gluten Free crust was awesome! I wouldn't think white bean as a base for pizza sauce wouldn't be ideal for pizza but boy was I wrong. The flavors were singing in my mouth with the pesto drizzle, carmelized onions, fresh basil and tomatoes. The steak had this teriyaki flavor that was so tender. My hubby had their garlic burger and their patatas bravas which is their version of fries is not to be missed. I also had their raspberry hibiscus martini and I wish I had 2 because I downed that thing like there was no tomorrow it was that good. Of course we couldn't leave without trying their cheesecake but we were so full that we packed it to go. Their cheesecake beats the Cheesecake Factory hands down. It's cheaper than CF and you get a big piece that's a mile high. Their creme brûlée is also a must have. Can't wait to go back to try other dishes and more cheesecake. I've seen the episode of Guy Fieri at the Tin Roof Grill several times over the years, but as with many of the places he's been that we have tried, this was underwhelming. At noon on a Thursday, the place was nearly deserted. One server, and apparently only one person cooking. I say this because even though the other three tables all had their food, our two dishes - Croquettes and Garlic Burger took a very long time to come out. Guy waxed poetically over the Croquettes. I am not sure why. Way to large and too many for two to share. We were given 5 the size of a baseball. One was plenty. Would have been better had they offered them in either a three or a 5 piece portion. Or, better yet, make 4 out of two. They would still be large. The Garlic Burger, served with potato Bravas was quite good. I don't know. The whole experience just put us off. The interior looked very tired, the server, while pleasant, also seemed tired of it all. The fact that there were so few people there at the supposed lunch rush seemed strange. The location is good. I was visiting here in Utah with my family from Dallas. My brother used to be a server at this restaurant and wanted to go back and try it. Our server was great. I think his name was Dan. We started out with a goat cheese appetizer, which was my favorite thing I ate dinner tonight. We also had the sound for appetizer. Nothing on this I could not live without. I have the shrimp and bacon, macaroni and cheese. Had lunch, spaghetti marinara with meatballs. I can tell right off that the sauce was made there as well as the meatballs. There are large chunks of tomatoes, I can see the herbs, onions. The meatballs have pine nuts in them and it was good. They weren't dry and was substantial in size. Two came with the dish. For a lunch plate it was perfectly proportioned. It was a nice lunch and I enjoyed it. Our waitress was friendly and checked in with us often. I did get a slice of cheesecake that they make in-house to go.
