What sets Dr. Andrew apart from other dentists is his warmth and indefatigable patience, even with the most resistant children. He never gets perturbed when doing exams and treatment. His steady and calm demeanor imparts a sense of calm and confidence to the timid patients. He gently talks them through complex filling and crown procedures, such that patients emerge without any further qualms about returning for additional treatment. Another quality that eases every visit is Dr. Andrew's excellent communication skills. He's able to thoroughly explain the treatment plan and intricate step-by-step process in layman's terms, which tremendously helps for those of us who are not well-versed in dental terminology. First, the quality of the routine cleanings was consistently subpar. After nearly every appointment, my kids' teeth still had black dot stains on them. When I directly confronted Dr. Leyla Abazari about this recurring issue, her response was shocking. Instead of an apology or a commitment to better quality, she informed me that I would need to specifically request a "detailed cleaning" in the future because it takes more time. This admission that their standard, default cleaning is knowingly incomplete was deeply concerning. Even after we began making this special request, if I pointed out remaining stains, the response from the hygienist or Dr. Abazari herself was still that nothing more could be done. This excuse was proven false when, during one visit, Dr. Abazari used a tool and a stain came right off. However, the most egregious error came after my daughter had a cavity filled by Dr. Leyla Abazari. She completed the filling but neglected the critical step of checking for proper flossing clearance. Because the filling was improperly shaped, my daughter couldn't floss between those teeth. We didn't realize this until months later when the trapped food and bacteria had caused significant decay and a painful infection. As a direct result of this negligence, my daughter now has to undergo the much more serious and expensive procedure of getting a crown. The combination of a two-tiered standard of care, poor excuses, and a critical error that has permanently affected my daughter's dental health makes it impossible for me to recommend Dr. Leyla Abazari or her practice to any family.
