I called to make an appointment after buying a Groupon. This extremely rude person told me that I should not have called the phone number to the establishment, but rather the phone # stated on the Groupon. I was also informed that I had to take a picture of my hair? saying that instead of 1-2 hours it might take 4-5 hours. ( I have the short, thin hair) It is not what she said , but the tone of voice, and the discourteous way of talking to me. I am in disbelief that you would talk to anybody like this! read more

The Stars are for the great eyebrow waxing and manicure. Hair styling gets a zero. Went in for a consult after having moved back to Chicago. Specifically requested Wella Koleston Perfect brand hair color and shared the specific formula my previous stylist had used for months with awesome results. I met with the owner and she said all great, Wella yes, formula yes. So I book an appointment for the following week. When I go in, I ask if she needs the formula again. She says no, she's going to "match" it. I ask her to clarify what that means, and it turns out she doesn't have Wella but she says she can match it. Fast forward. No, she couldn't match it (see photos). It's darker, a different color altogether. What the hell. She starts suggesting bleach and other things to fix it, ignoring that I also said I don't use bleach products. What made this worse - in addition to the expense!- was that she bugged me about leaving a positive review on social before we even finished. I work in digital marketing and suggested that focusing on the customer's happiness first and not asking them to do your marketing for you is way more effective. I didn't post this right away (this happened in August) because leaving a negative review is a real drag. But when the cost (over $100 for roots) and service are so off base I feel like sisters ought to know. Forewarned is forearmed. Save your $$$. read more

I have tried out a variety of places to get my haircut throughout Lincoln Park, Lake View and Old Town and I have come to conclude that Fannie and her team give the best haircut in Chicago. Everyone there is extremely friendly and it has free parking on Southport! I recommend TINT to males and females! read more

The salon itself is cozy and chic. Very cute and the owner is always here, so you can tell she takes a lot of pride in her shop. My stylist was Felicia and she was great. Very energetic and friendly and she did a GREAT job with my blonde highlights. I showed her a picture and I was shocked how blonde she was able to make me. 5 Star Haircut and experience every time I have been to Tint. I found Tint through friends. Many of my friends and their wives all were going here, so I decided to give it a try. They do a great job for guys, and the salon has won many regional awards for women. I wasn't sure what to expect, I usually have not gone to Salons for haircuts. The experience is very friendly, and the price for a haircut is very reasonable. Why else do I keep going back? Fannie. She is a wonderful woman who will talk about anything and truly cares about each customer. Esmeralda is amazing. I followed her when she changed salons. Th change is definitely worth it. Her coloring is brilliant and she is considerate of all the concerns I raise even those that may seem ridiculous. She is so meticulous with the haircuts, very detailed. I have been going to Fannie for years and have never had a cut or color that I didn't love. She is a perfectionist when it comes to cutting hair and she is a fabulous colorist. Recently, Fannie was out of the shop for the week and I HAD to get a cut and color right away to go to a wake and funeral. I went to a shop close to home and paid double what I usually pay at TINT. While at the wake I was taking a closer look at my hair in the mirror and noticed a ton of gray hair!!! I will NEVER go to anyone else again, no matter what the circumstances! read more

I've been looking for a new stylist and the last 2 I tried (Evanston) were very expensive and making an appt was near impossible, I had to wait weeks before anyone could see me. Not to mention the extra money I had to pay for a parking ticket. I called Tinta on Thursday and Fannie gave me a choice of late Friday afternoon or Saturday appt. I went in last night. My stylist Esmeralda took time looking at my hair, asking questions and came up with an idea to get rid of my split ends and start the repair process (previous stylist kept going over my highlights with more highlights until my hair fried). We looked at different styles and colors and a stylish cut that I could follow - previous stylist gave a great cut but too hard for me to keep up once I left the salon. Cozy atmosphere, Fannie and Esmeralda and the receptionist are welcoming. My hair is now dead-end free, shiny, looks healthy and I didn't have to spend so much time trying to re-create the style this morning. Give Tinta a try! read more

Yesterday I had an amazing facial done by Ewa. She has a room in the back where she does eyebrows, waxing, facials, & peels. She is a knowledgable, licensed esthetician who sells the Osmosis skin care line of products. I highly recommend the salon and all of its services. read more
