A couple other parents recommended Tiny HeadQuarters after we described how difficult our two-and-a-half-year-old had been during haircuts at several different places. When we arrived for our first visit, we immediately could tell this would be a different experience. Options of several different chairs - including a car - in front of TVs with his favorite shows. Chrisy remembered we had mentioned on the phone his reaction to clippers and decided to use only scissors. We watched in awe as she assessed the situation and made several other decisions for both our son's comfort and his Mom's style preferences on the spot. Our son was still difficult, but it was a lot easier than previous haircuts, and he looks good. Chrisy reminded us as we left, keep coming every 6-8 weeks and the experience will get better. The studio was so cute. Filled with distractions for my crazy energetic almost 2 year old. She was quick but patient and did the exact cut I wanted for him. We had an amazing experience bringing our son here for his first haircut! Chrisy creates such a safe and calming environment (one child at a time, sitting on parent's lap, TV on), is so communicative (she seamlessly accommodated our shifting nap schedule), and is just an overall lovely person who gave our son a beautiful haircut. She's also very fairly priced and the appointment was so efficient. She even gave us little containers with his locks of hair and a certificate! I brought my 18 mo old son in for a mullet (here's a before pic). I showed her a photo example. She seemed confident, so I let her go to work and focused on keeping my son occupied. 10 minutes later, I looked up, and to my horror, she'd cut off the entire length off the back-left side. Realizing my mistake in not explicitly confirming "do not cut the back of my son's hair", I had no choice but to bite my lip and let her do the same to the right side. I've had to sit on writing this for 24 hours in order to let my anger subside. My son used to compliments on his hair constantly. He was growing it for 18 months and it was completely butchered in 18 minutes. Don't get me wrong, he's still a cute kid and I don't love him any less :) But now he's a cute kid with a bad haircut. I will say this: we arrived 5 mins late, and for the last 5 min, my son was getting agitated by the scissors and getting very squirmy. Given that, I dont expect perfection. What I do expect is that if my son has long hair, and I say I want a mullet and show a photo of one, you wouldn't chop off the back of his hair, or at the very least you'd ASK before cutting off 18 months worth of hair. And therein lies the root of the problem: The business model at this place seems built around quantity, not quality. A child cut should, all things being equal, take more time than an adults, not less. Because they don't sit still and you do. But she's got appointments every 20 minutes (which includes transition time), which is not enough time to ask questions or communicate properly, pay attention, and deal w/ squirmy kids. It leaves no room for error and probably leads to a lot of stress. I can sympathize w/ the economics of making a small business work. But given how infrequently a small kid needs a haircut, wouldn't you be willing to pay a little more so the haircutter could take their time? I know I would. If you aren't particular about the haircut, this place is fine. There are a lot of toys, movies, and other distractions. And the owner does love children. But if you want someone to ask questions/listen to what you want and take their time, I'd go somewhere else. Note: 1st pic is before, next 3 are after. Wow. After taking C&N to see Chrissy for a haircut yesterday evening I immediately knew why she received 5 stars on Yelp. She was super accommodating and offered to cut their hair after hours. Luckily for me there was a cancellation so we were squeezed in right before swim class. Not only is Chrissy super friendly, she made C&N feel comfortable right away. She's also really quick, while being precise. C&N both got their haircuts done in a little less than 30 minutes. We were in and out of there in no time. There's different cars for kids to sit on as they get their haircut (or regular chairs if they prefer) and a TV to distract them as she works her magic. While waiting, there's also mini games to play. I highly suggest making an appointment on her website in advance if you want to see Chrissy (she also cuts adult hair), especially in the evenings or weekends. You can make an appointment up to 8 weeks out, which I did immediately after leaving. She's that good! Her prices are reasonable as well. I relied on Yelp to help me find the right salon to take my son for his first haircut. I am so glad I did because I can see why there are so many positive reviews for Tiny HeadQuarters Salon. The salon is located inside Sola Salons with a large shared parking lot with multiple retailers. It was very easy find parking. I booked my son's appointment with Tracy. My son takes awhile to warm up to strangers so he was really upset at first. Tracy was so gentle and patient with him. She was willing to accommodate us by letting my son sit in my lap while she did the haircut. She went very slow with the scissors in case he moved his head or arms around. I was very appreciative of how she went above and beyond to try to make his first time a positive experience. On top of the amazing experience, the business owner even creates and emails out adorable certificates to commemorate your child's first haircut. I received mine this week and it is so adorable. It was my first time inside Sola Salons and I love the concept. We arrived in Tiny Headquarters Salon and immediately I thought it was kids heaven! Automobiles, games, snack machine... It was my daughters first haircut so I was not sure what to expect from her, but I came here for all the raving reviews. Just as I had expected, my daughter was scared to sit alone in the car because she didn't know what we were about to do. She's 20 months old and she has long curly hair. She had to sit on my lap having her haircut, but she had her cocomelon and snacks, so she was good! The haircut was so quick and she got a cute braided hairstyle after! I was surprised that she allowed Cristine to cut her hair, but at the same time, Cristine was so quick and gentle hands, I don't even think my daughter noticed what she was doing! After the haircut, we put my daughter in the car to get a picture and now she didn't want to leave! She was already comfortable, but there was a next customer so we had to go. My husband and I wanted to wait until our sweet girl turned 1 before she got her first haircut. Her hair grew in all different textures and lenghts so I was eager to even it all out. I searched for some time for the perfect salon that could provide this service and also provide a relaxed, calm environment for our girl. Finally, I stumbled upon Tiny HeadQuarters Salon. I loved the look and the reviews were great so I was sold! I was so nervous about how it would go because I have heard so many nightmare stories about baby's getting their first haircut. Thank goodness for Chrisy! On the day of the appt, we were running a few minutes late. I called Chrisy to let her know and she said it was no problem, to drive safely and she will see us when we get there! That put me at ease that she was already so warm despite our delay. Upon arrival she greeted us and started to prep our baby. Babygirl was not having it, she did not want to sit in the cute little chair; she just wanted to sit on me. Chrisy said it was not a problem and that she could cut her hair with me holding her. She draped us with the cap to cover our clothing but baby girl did not want that either! Chrisy said it was no a problem and only covered me. Our girl cried the entire time; Chrisy even put on her favorite songs to cheer her up but she was still in tears. Chrisy was able to still cut her hair and do a beautiful job despite the cries and fussiness of our baby. She did not complain, or even treat us any sort of way. She was kind, professional and got the job done. Once the haircut was complete, she styled our baby's hair and added a cute little bow that matched her outfit. We took a cute family picture which baby girl actually smiled and then we were on our way! Chrisy sent us a cute "1st Haircut" certificate to commemorate this milestone. Chrisy's set up is amazing! My son got his first haircut with no problems. He loved sitting in the barber seat shaped like a car and equipped with a steering wheel and sounds. She had Cocomelon playing on a big screen which provided the perfect extra distraction. When it came time to use the clippers, she knew how to introduce them so that he wouldn't be scared. From start to finish it took 15 minutes. Oh, and Chrisy is great with the parents. Love it! Drove here all of the way from DC for the five star review for my girls' first haircut. It's literally a tiny salon, but they only work on one guest per stylist at a time, so it's a max of two clients. They just gave the salon a makeover and it pops with green and black. The two stylists are calm, pleasant professionals. The salon itself has toys, bubbles, arcade games, fun cars for clients to sit in (or regular chairs if preferred), and most importantly, two large TVs that can play almost anything requested with Disney plus and other options. The salon itself is in the back of the plaza, in Sola Salon. Try to get there extra early if you've never been there since I had to drive around a bit trying to find it. Then once inside the Sola entrance, it's like a set of indoor suites. Follow the hallway the whole way around (you go in a U) and you'll see the fun door. The haircuts were great, and the stylists asked both me and the girls what they wanted done. The cuts were quick, simple, and professional. I think my favorite part is they offered to braid the girls' hair at the end. The girls both had smiles from ear to ear! We will be back, thank you! read more

When I found this out, my immuno-compromised daughter was already halfway through her haircut, and I let Miss Chrissy finish. In retrospect, I probably should have grabbed my kid out of the chair and left right away-- half a haircut and all. So, I scheduled the haircut for right after my 2.5 year old son typically wakes up from a nap. He decided to wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and I have given myself no time to calm him down before the haircut. Needless to say, I was worried how he'd do during the cut. He was a little powder keg just ready to melt down over any little thing. But Chrisy was fantastic with my son. The salon is a super fun place for a kid, and he loved the variety of seats (he chose the police car with the steering wheel). Chrissy is great with my two kids and they both really enjoy their haircuts with her. She knows to work fast with a 2 year old and a kindergartener and they both come out looking great. The biggest problem is getting them to leave since she has so much fun stuff in her salon, including car shaped seats for the kids.
