Great salon. Lots of toys and distractions on screen. Only one customer at a time so you don't have many different noises going on at the same time. At my daughter's last haircut, she freaked out because of a hair dryer starting at the chair next to us. Here, you have Chrisy's undivided attention and she eased her into it by giving her bubbles first and letting her get to know the room for a few minutes beforehand. My daughter really enjoyed riding in the taxi car and even the cover she uses had fun cartoons on it. You can tell a lot of thought went into this and it was a fun time for my daughter. No tears and we were in and out in under 20 minutes. We will definitely be returning for her future hair appointments as this was about as stress free as a haircut for a child can get. Such a difference from our first experience when she was not a happy camper at another salon which was for adults but also cut hair for kids. ALSO, Chrisy did not use a hair dryer on her I noticed. That's good because the noise really scares her and not to mention she has such short hair it's really unnecessary. We've been going to Chrissy since my daughter's first haircut (she's now 7). She's opened her own place. She has two fun "chairs" for the kids to sit in - a police car and taxi. Her shop is located next to the back entrance of where REI used to be. My two year old had three haircuts before this and he was getting more squirmy and scared with each one. I let her know beforehand the terror she could potentially encounter. Opening the door to her shop both my kids said "WOW!" It's a kids dream in there, there are so many toys, activities, and movies. Chrisy was like a magician in how stealthily she wet his hair and hid her shears, only ever showing toys in her hands. It literally took three minutes for him release my neck from his clutch of death and forget he was getting a haircut. The best part - we were done in about 12 minutes and it was the best haircut of his life! We ended up playing for about 10 minutes afterwards blowing bubbles with Chrisy. This is the best option for getting kids haircuts I've found. Chrisy takes online appointments so there's no wait, it's just her (plus one other stylist, but not always), and your kid gets to pick whatever they'd like to watch while getting their super-quick cut. Add in that it's roughly the same price as other kids options, you're not worried about the coughing/crying kids all around you, and this is a winning idea.
