I called in a couple of days prior to see if I can get an appointment with Pinky. Luckily she had availability the next week at a perfect time for me! I walked in and was greeted right away. It was a bit chaotic, but I was able to get a wash easily. Unfortunately once Pinky started combing thru my hair, she saw that there was still some residue of conditioner left, so we had to rinse again. No problem, though. Onto the cut- I told her exactly what I wanted, how many inches off, and showed her an inspo picture! She blew dried my hair and started styling and omgoodness, it was better than the inspo picture! Given the 5 stars I was immediately interested. Finding the salon was a little difficult as it is located behind the Cvs & Chipotle in Gaithersburg Square. My GPS kept telling me I had arrived when in fact I hadn't lol parking was also a pain as I had to loop around 3 times before someone finally left. I've been to the Symmetry Salon in Bethesda once before so I knew stylists had their own private space. I honestly prefer it over a loud, hectic salon. Your stylist can truly give you their undivided attention. This location also sells Balmain products. Super chic. You can help yourself to coffee, water and snacks while you wait. There is an ATM located inside as well just in case you forget cash to tip! All payments are made through your stylist not the front desk. I believe the receptionist is there to mostly direct clients and to book appointments. Kirstie was fantastic! I truly mean that. From the second she put the thread on my skin it was painful and I felt like my eyebrows were being ripped off and bleeding. Later I saw that I did have a scar and bruise above my eyes. It felt like she was bitter and purposely putting all her anger into ripping my eyebrow hair out. That's how bad the pain was. Disclaimer here, I am from a similar area of the world where I also get my eyebrows threaded and NO, I am not some sissy person who is new to threading. My mother was a professional threader and I've had my eyebrows touched by BOTH novices and experts and I NEVER had any pain like this. I am very thick skinned and my pain tolerance is high but this threading stop in the salon run by these two Indian women....go somewhere else. I don't want to shit on the other salons in here and I will probably go here to try another salon but the threading...NO. Just full stop. She was rude too. I don't usually give a damn about that if you service me well. But the pain was too much to come back. And the result was mediocre. Not worth it for me to drive an hour for it.

I was very specific requesting that the longest back layer hit the middle of my back with a V shape and the Front layers frame the face with some long bangs. Well what I got was a haircut that sits above my shoulders and the choppy layers way shorter than I wanted which looks to full and bushy. My hair is already thick to begin with and just doesn't look right. Definitely NOT a Butterfly Cut! Bhanu (not sure if spelled correctly) is your best bet there now but still not perfect. She takes her time, is very detail oriented and is gentle so the threading never hurts. Downside that she does not listen to how you want your eyebrows styled. The threader (not sure about her name) who works in the first chair on the right corner of the salon is quick but PAINFUL. She also makes my eyebrows too thin even when I remind her not to. This is the most decent threading place I've been to in the Gaithersburg area so I'll keep coming back - at least until I find a new location.

She then asked I if wanted sideburn in a line, i said no, assuming it meant blended into my beard. The back of my neck is shaved at 0 above 1 inch above my normal hairline, making it impossible to have a ponytail and not look ridiculous. 2 inches above My sideburns are shaved at 0 as well, cutting off 6 inches of previous growth. This is beyond a botch job. I feel violated. Words can't express how upset I am. While i give credit that they didn't charge me, it's malpractice to cut that much growth off without clarifying with the client what you're intending to do. Have never had my hair a 0 buzz and certainly will not be going back. WOuld not recommend to anyone ever!

The owner of the salon, Ofeer, is a phenomenal stylist and has a heart of gold. At Yelp we support local businesses and this is just the kind of business we want to support. Yvonne answers the phone and greets you with a warm smile. She is wonderful as she schedules appointments and makes sure clients are happy and satisfied. Mila is a sweetheart. She gives great shampoos. As she massages your scalp you feel so relaxed and pampered. I don't want to leave her chair. Before Barbara passed away, she recommended that I try Angie for my styling needs. I have been going to Angie for the past 3 months. She is sweet, caring, and does a great job. I am happy that I have continued to go to Zohra. The staff is top notch and each works hard to please their clients. It was really hard coming back and not seeing Barbara.
