Aside from this; the office is small and as a patient, I could hear everyone's dental needs due to the lack of walls protecting people's personal dental privacy needs. I heard courses of action, proceedings on medications; so forth and so on. Also, the technology for X-rays is just not there. On a positive: The technicians on the floor are super friendly and do try to help make each patient comfortable. The office is in a great location (right off the 10 freeway) and the entrance/consumer seating area was super quaint and comfortable. I decided to seek other dentistry experts for my dental needs. Perhaps this is a lesson for the future and patients can try this place in hopes that their rights are not violated also. Thanks for reading.

I usually come in for x-rays, cleaning, and I fill in my front tooth which I chip frequently with some sort of enamel and a UV light hardener. It's nothing permanent, but I'm OK with that. I'm normally taken care of the same exact day, but this time was a little different. The new dentist said she didn't have enough time to take care of me and that was that. They didn't fill my tooth, which is specifically what I came in for, but they were too busy to do it. Despite me calling the same day of my appointment and asking if they had an opening. It was clearly just a hand into my pocket as if they needed to make a quick $200 off some x-rays and the cleaning. Now it feels like it's more about the sale and less about the smiles. I've been a client since 2011. The most wonderful and original dentist passed away recently. This place has made a turn for the worst. Wouldn't recommend anymore.

After recently visiting other dental offices, I realized that cleanings should not be that uncomfortable. Though I do have a lot of respect for dental hygienists--their job of cleaning people's mouths is incredibly difficult, and I know I couldn't do this job myself. One time, they upsold me a very expensive mouthwash that cost over $50. I bought it because my cleanings were always very painful, and they claimed it would help by preventing buildup. But it didn't make any difference--it was a complete waste of money. I was a patient here for about five years, and another issue was that over time it became clear that communication was consistently lacking. The staff never directly explained their concerns with me. Good and timely communication helps prevent much bigger issues down the line, but unfortunately, that standard wasn't met here. Additionally, I never even knew who the actual dentist was--his name or even if it was the same person each time I visited. There was also a billing or coding error during one of my visits. Despite it being the office's responsibility to resolve and they actually promised to do so, I had to resolve the issue myself despite myself not being on the expert on the field. If you live in the area, I recommend exploring or at least looking into other options, such as Gentle Dental in Palm Valley or a private dental practice. These alternatives generally offer better continuity of care, lower staff turnover, and honest communication in difficult situations. And the dental cleaning to my honest experience is much less painful.

The staff are professional, helpful and follow all protocols to protect their patients health and safety. I've had excellent care, including several Cerec crowns to replace older amalgam fillings that were breaking down. My treatment plans are always explained satisfactorily and I've never felt like unnecessary work was being tacked on. While major dental work is rarely a fun activity, I've appreciated that pain control is taken seriously here. My previous dentist was the "You can feel that? Oh, just hold on, I'm almost done," type, so prior to coming to Festival Dental, I believed that some level of pain was just part of any dental work. I can honestly say that I've never had any major pain during any procedure here. If I'm feeling discomfort, I'm given another injection, no questions asked. I won't go anywhere else for a filling or crown as long as Dr. Mallory is at this location. I do agree that there were some significant front office staff issues and had some ridiculous billing mistakes a few years back (like sending my husband's bill to my insurance carrier, then billing me when the claim was denied), but I haven't had any problems since then. I believe those problems were largely due to the staff at the time and thankfully, none of those people still work there. The new office manager is a welcome change and he seems genuinely happy to be there. He remembered me from my call to schedule earlier that week and was competent and efficient. I've never had any difficulty scheduling appointments and appreciate the later office hours on Tuesdays. I've not had excessive wait times either in the reception area or while in the exam rooms. I don't bring my daughter to this office because it doesn't feel as kid-friendly as the other dentist in Surprise that my family uses. The office could use some updating and a fresh coat of paint back in the exam rooms.

I purchased TB head replacements and I tried one of them out and realized it wasn't the right one. My original TB head was an A3 which is a lot gentler than the C3 which is what they sold me. I tried to exchange the toothbrush head and I was told they do not have A3, but they had G3 I asked what's the difference and they didn't know and said no other customers had any issues with it, well guess what everyone is different and for me it was too forceful on my teeth, so I just excepted it and took it as a loss. But then I thought about it and I called back to at least get my money back for one and they told me they would have to call the supplier and find out but it's Friday and probably won't get a hold of them today. They just tell you anything to get you off the phone!
