I appreciated their feedback and information when they came out for the free estimate. We had a wood stove insert that we wanted to have removed as well as clean the chimney. Turned out we had a manufactured fire box that the stove had been inserted into and it's fire integrity had been damaged to install the insert. So we could no longer use the fire box as is. We were provided other options that we could do but have decided to stay with the wood stove insert for now. As for the cleaning it went quickly. The technician stayed mask and as for cleanliness the work area was spotless when he left. Would definitely hire them again.

I just got an email from Goodrich Chimney offering discounted services to get ready for fall. I…read morerealized I never wrote a review on the work I contracted with them to complete. Bought a house and the chimney was in disrepair. They suggested I put a sleeve in the chimney stack instead of repairing / replacing the bricks that could allow embers to gain access to other parts of the house. Could be a huge issue if the house were to burn right? The sleeve was inserted, but now the smoke from the fireplace would fill the room. When I asked for them to come and fix it, they just told me that I would have to start the fire directly in the middle of the fireplace. That didn't work, so I stopped using the fireplace for a bit of time. Later, I went to a different company. They did an inspection and noted several issues with the sleeve installed by Goodrich. Once you see the photos below, it makes complete sense why the smoke was coming back into the house! Why didn't they cut the excess length off the sleeve and allow the smoke to draft completely. Even so, the diameter of the sleeve was also questionable - so everything they did was just money down the drain. I absolutely cannot recommend this company and wish I had read Yelp before hiring them.

Our contractor picked it up for us after the 10 days. He called to let us know that the cost had gone up $500 + tx. A reputable business would have told us that the pricing was going up very soon and suggest, at least, that we buy it at the time we were there.
