My friends and I came from Stockton and decided to stop by Tip Top Nails. The location has plenty of parking, their salon is clean and cool despite the heat outside. There are many amazing photos that Tom, the owner, has taken of his travels. They play the classics to put you in a relaxing mood. I've never felt better or more relaxed. This place is Absolutely wonderful! Tom manicured cat eye's on my hands. It shimmers in the sunlight, and is perfect for a fun weekend. I went to my regular nail place on Nov 4th but was welcomed by a "We are closed. Sorry for the inconvenience" sign. I had to rush to find another place and came onto Yelp to see the top 3 to 5 nail salons in Cathedral City. I saw that Tip Top nails was #1 so I called them and fortunately for me, they had an opening. Carol did my chrome nails (1st time getting chrome for me) and Julie did my pedicure and I was very happy with both. I will be coming back for sure. read more

This is a terrible place. I went there for several monthly visits. As time went on, the service was less and less effective. The owner does not honor her work. If a nail lifts in one day and I go in to get a repair she just glues it back. Not the way to treat a high paying customer. read more

I just moved to the desert and found this salon on Yelp. Tina did an amazing pedicure and Katrina gave me a great set of gel nails. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the salon was clean and comfortable. Arrived at 9am and was taken care of immediately. I am so happy that I listened to the reviews on this salon--it was clean, quiet, peaceful, and I received fabulous customer service. I have been searching for a new nail tech for months and I believe that I have found him here! Thom is wonderful--I had a snapped acrylic and also needed a fill. He was incredibly gentle with my repair (the break was quite painful), and took his time carefully to give me the manicure that I wanted. My nails were perfectly and consistently shaped, all of them were even, and my polish job was amazing. I will be going back from now on! I want to give more stars but the experience was just sort of "off" I made an appointment and arrived on time. A man started on my nails without saying a word. I had also requested a pedicure & I really don't like them not being done simultaneously, It's just such a waste of time. Since this was my first time here I just went along with it. When my hands were just about done they started to call someone else to the last pedicure chair and I called attention to the fact that I was waiting & finally the man doing my hands uttered a word, although not to me. I honestly don't think he said one word to me at all, even when I pointed out some nails were crooked. Other awkwardness, there was no AC on, just a fan blowing hot air around, no hot water for the pedicure, warm water was poured from a coffee pot & really limited color selection. Prices were great but I don't know if I'll return or not. read more

Normally - very happy with Julie and Tom. TODAY, NOT AT ALL. My nail lady (Tom's Sister) did my toenails - nice job. BUT then she took my camera phone out of my hand after I just recorded my very first face waxing. It was a big deal for me at 53 to get this done so I filmed it. I wanted to have a record of the experience to look back on. But the lady deleted it off my phone and handed it back to me without telling me. I noticed it was gone right away and asked her if she deleted it. She said yes. I was choked. Told her she had no right to do that and she had taken this very cool experience of mine and ruined it by doing this. I trusted her and she violated me by deleting a special memory. That was so not cool or ok with me. I was so upset I told the owner Julie that I was upset and not impressed. Was not ok. She apologized for Thom's sisters actions but damage was already done. It really struck a chord in me, can't explain why other than I felt violated...something special that I wanted to record was purposely taken from me. She didn't even tell me, just grabbed the camera while I was in the chair and said she was going to show Julie the video. Instead, she deleted it. So sorry Thom and Julie as I have enjoyed you both over the years but after this experience I plan NOT to return. Many nail places locally to go to, but I like your place and felt comfortable there, until this happened. The lady did not seem to care about my reaction. Julie knew it was wrong and bad, but the actions of the sister was totally inappropriate and out of line. So for the principle of the matter, I just can't return. My face is STILL sore from the waxing and swollen. She waxed from one side to the other from ear to ear and it hurt like hell. But I did it and was having fun with the video...it was comical. But now, nothing to remember the experience other than the memory of her taking my camera from my and deleting the experience. My brother had been teasing me jokingly for years about my blonde mustache. Funny - so I was going to send him the video. You lost my trust and respect. read more

I'm from out of town (LA) and vacationed in Palm Springs this past weekend. I stopped by the salon to get mani's and pedi's with my two girlfriends. Katrina did my pedicure and Tom did my manicure. Both were extremely professional and sweet. They even gave us great advice on where to dine in town and things to do! I am so bummed to give this place a 2 star since it has such a good rating, but not for me! I had a French nail and wanted to change it up and go for the gel manicure. I arrive there at 8:30am as yelper has wrote, but no they don't open until 9am Mon-Fri. FYI. So I patiently wait till 9am, but nobody came until 9:15am. No big deal. The lady was so nice she sat me down right away. However it took about 45minutes to take off my nails and to move onto the gel manicure process..while taking off the acrylic she was using a nail filer the entire time and was keep dipping it into the nail polish remover acid. After everything was done, I found out that they don't take debit cards. The machine was temporarily down so I had to drive down to the bank to withdrawal cash. - Fine. Tipped her $10 and walked out. Couple of days after, my nails are falling apart!!! My nails are so damaged and completely ruined. Every time I take a shower, the nail gets caught in my hair and rips my nails!! Ouch... Over all not a good experience for me.... read more
