I've been a customer for over ten years. These people are from Viet Nam ( 50,000 american troops gave their lives for this country) But that is the past. I really resented when the owners installed a cash machine in the establishment because they wanted to save on credit card fees. All the other business merchants in Smoke Tree pay the fees! Why do they feel that they are above this? The shop if full of Roman Catholic symbols like pictures of Jesus and Rosary beads hanging on the walls. As an ex-Catholic, I find this offensive to other religions. There should not be any religious symbols in any public business space. But the iceing on the cake came last Thursday, May 14th 2026 when I came in for my usual pedicure with Mary. Unfortunately, she was out ill so the owner ( I don't remember his name) did my pedicure and told me that I must see a doctor immediately because I had extreme peeling of my skin on my feet and ankles. This upset set me for the most part of the weekend because I got an appointment at Eisenhower at Rimrock the following Monday. DR Edan saw me and told me that it was an extreme case of dryness on my feet and I should moisturize 3 times a day with Cerave lotion and the nail profesional should have recognized this and not try to alarm me of a possible serious illness. In fact, the doctor implied that the pedicurist was plainly stupid. AND THIS IS THE OWNER OF THE SHOP! I will go back there because it is convenient for me and if the owner refuses me, I will call my lawyer and initiate a law suit against the shop. read more

Don't be late to your appointment. It is a walk-in nail salon, but I did make an appointment. I was nine minutes late but knew it was a walk-ins-welcome place so figured I might have to wait. The lady started scolding me for being 15 minutes late in a very angry voice. I showed her my Apple Watch and this may be petty but it showed I was 10 minutes late and we had been talking already a couple minutes. I understand that I was late, but I did not need to be scolded, not to mention being turned away. There was nobody waiting on a Friday afternoon. Nobody. I drive about 50 miles to get my manicures and pedicures at TK Nails. All the operators are professional, courteous and most of all expert at what they do. For someone to give a bad rating because they couldn't get in on a walk-in is ridiculous and have probably never had to deal with the public. I, too am a business owner and much as you want to serve the public, sometimes it's just not possible. I have been getting my nails done for over 40 years and cannot recommend them more. read more

Husband and I were in town for a friend's wedding. If you're accustomed to getting gel mani/pedis soaked off, I recommend you do so at home prior to your visit. My pedicurist's name was Mary. The second thing she asked, after inquiring about the color I wanted, was, "This your real hair?" while jabbing her finger inches from my head. I was wearing a protective style, and as I proceeded to explain, all she heard was, "no," said nothing, then walked away to collect her tools, as I spoke to the thin air in front of me. When I asked her if it was this establishment's normal procedure to file off, rather than soak off gel, she stared blankly at me and resumed working. When I told her that I wanted two toenails to have hard gel however, (for an old sports injury) she indicated that she certainly understood my request. A male manicurist sat next to me, not sure of his name, but he sports a balding buzz cut and glasses, then proceeded to ask the woman he was giving a manicure to if she wanted "that", pointing to my foot scrub. The woman joked, "no," and he replied, "That's for callouses. That's not for you. Some people have really thick skin, you're young." Um, I'm 31. The woman he was servicing, while looking great for her age, was clearly of "average" retirement age. Just finished the leg scrub part of my pedicure, and my leg is bleeding?? Side notes: I only know this woman goes by Mary, because that's the name she answered to when her coworkers addressed her. She never once introduced herself to me. Insults 2 : compliments 0 I was even wearing a really pretty, white cottage core summer dress! Hubby was asked if he was wearing acrylic by his manicurist (salt and pepper gentleman with a combover and glasses), three times. Nope. Just gel polish...that they drilled off. That same gentleman did my two little hard gel toes before Mary returned to file my toenails until they were as thin and flexible as printer paper. During polishing, the base coat smeared onto my skin as the UV machine was haphazardly jammed onto my foot. Their clients seem to mainly be from the local retirement community, and certainly love them. For a couple of folks from big cities, this is not it. My feet sat in pure water the entire time. A white substance was smeared onto the bottoms of my feet so that they could be scrubbed. Then a gritty green paste was painfully rubbed into the skin below my knees. There was a brief rinse, then a 30 second massage on each foot with a light pink substance, before hard gel and gel polish. I have never loved my regular pedicurist back home more. The one star is because they use liners in the pedicure basin -- not sure if that really deserves a single star. Mani $35 Pedi $45 Tipped 10%. I normally tip 25%. Totally not worth it if you're accustomed to a higher standard of quality, kindness, and care. If you're from a large city, skip this place. read more

They asked us to sign in and leave contact info. They took a temperature reading. They provided hand sanitizer and They kept chairs spread out and cleaned and protected! I came as a walk in and I appreciate the fact that they took me in however this place is just very run down. They need to at least repaint the walls or something. Do something to show that you care about the place... Also it is dirty. They don't sanitize their tools. This is a huge deal, especially cause of all the horror stories I've heard and read about. Not to mention fungus is almost impossible to get rid of... I'm giving this place tow stars because they were nice enough to take me in. I went to TK for the first time yesterday 03/03 for a pedicure from Vincent and am very dissatisfied. He cut both large toe nails so short the nippers cut into the nail bed, I almost jumped out of the chair. It's quite sore a day later and I hope it doesn't become infected. RUDE, they don't care and it shows! The way I was treated by the woman up front took my breath away! I should have just walked out! My pedicure took all of 22 minutes! Rude! Don't have a sign that reads Walk ins Welcome" if you can't accommodate. I usually make appt for services but I was in Palm Springs with a broken nail. I found this salon on maps so stopped in thinking I would have to wait since I didn't have appt. I stood at the counter for a few minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. I saw they were busy but in all the years I've been getting my nails done, I have never been so rudely dismissed from a nail salon. I'm actually happy they didn't take me because I wouldn't want to spend my hard earned money on such rude people.
