The young lady there was very professional and polite....she did a great job on my pedicure. Now lets talk about the owner...very nice lady an I guess she did the best she DO. I walked out of this shop paying $115.00 for a fill, one boken nail, gel nail polish, chrome (which came out to $70.00) and a pedicure. This picture was taken the same day I got my nails done....I went back the next day and ask for a refund on the polish and chrome, not for the full amount even though I should have (my nails where thick and just flat out UGLY). I was given $8.00 at 1st I was like no I dont think so then I was given a total of $15.00... mind you I had to go somewhere else to have that crap taken off and the gel reapplied.. Wow is all I can say. Walked in for a gel manicure today. Only 2 people getting their nails done and no one else is even in the building. I asked "Do you have time for a gel manicure?" She said "NO!" I said "do you have any available times today? I can come back." She said "No. No time for you and your manicure." Really? This place is dead. Had an above and beyond experience here the other day. It was getting near closing, so I called ahead to ask if they had enough time to fit my friend and I in for a pedicure and a polish change. The woman on the phone said, "come right away." Once we were there, I picked out a color for my manicure polish change, and my manicurist, while looking at my nails said, "why don't you want another gel manicure?," and I explained that in the past, when I've had two gel manicures in a row, the second one tends to start flaking very quickly. She said, "well that was a different person at a different salon," and went and grabbed her gel swatches. While perusing my options, I noticed they had chrome gels, and asked if there was time to do those, and she happily obliged. She took her time, despite the late hour, and meticulously made sure each of the four layers she applied went on smooth and with full coverage. She was also very warm and friendly, talking and joking the whole time. I found her to be very kind. By the time she was done, I was expecting a hefty price tag for her efforts (which would have been warranted!), yet she charged me less than $25! Whaaaaa?!?! I was seriously impressed, on every level. Not only was this salon accommodating, but the workers were friendly and extremely welcoming, and they did a great job. They have made a customer for life. Oh, and when my friend dropped her water bottle and ruined the paint job on one of her toes, they fixed it quickly and expertly. As I said, a Grade A establishment. read more

I got a nail fungus under my toenail. I have been coming here for 2 yrs, so in between pedicures they must of seen it forming and never said anything. I've always chosen a darker shade so I didn't know until my toenail started to lift from the skin. I'm beyond disappointed and will not be going back. Obviously if they're licensed manicurists they should know what a fungal infection looks like and should point it out, say they can't work on you, and disinfect their equipment. read more

I'm so bummed to be giving this place an average rating because everyone who works here is so nice, but I do have to say that my nails are very much average and not up to par. I will note that this place accepts walk-ins, which is awesome. I called 25 minutes before though and was hung up on after I asked a couple questions. Most likely an accident, so I decided to go in anyway. I was kindly greeted and helped almost immediately. A local told me to come to this salon and see Katrina, but she unfortunately was not in. I showed them the pictures of the nails I wanted which didn't seem too difficult to do, but they said they couldn't do it. Then I showed them another picture of nails with stripes (which seemed to be even easier to do than the first one) to which they responded with saying they might be able to do it but it would be hard. Ok... I came here not only because a local recommended it but because of the cool pictures of designs that were here on Yelp from happy customers. Those designs are way more complicated than what I was asking for. A kind man began my acrylic nails. Although he was nice, I just don't think he paid attention to the photos of the shape of the nail I wanted. I was looking for a more pointed almond shape, instead of completely rounded at the tips. They also came out a bit longer than expected. I think the worst part is the way the glue dried and how it looks on my nail. I'm afraid my natural nails will be pretty damaged because I can see them sticking out which doesn't seem right to me at all. In regards to the color and stripes, I appreciate the girl trying, but it was so below average that I didn't really have a choice but to ask them to be repainted. She did the stripes by hand instead of tape, and it looked like something I could have hastily done at home. The lines were crooked and had no precision. Another thing, it seemed very rushed. There was no other customer in the salon, yet when she repainted them (which she was very kind to do) it was done as if there was no time for it. Bottom line, I'm not the happiest person. My pedicure looks great but my nails just look cheap and hastily done, as if I bought them from the store and glued them on myself. I'm definitely going in to another place to have them filed and repainted. read more

If you want competent nail workers in a properly ventilated salon, this is for you. A quick trip to the salon doesn't need to be complicated, but around here it has taken me a year to find a decent place to get my nails done. After trying four other salons, all of which jabbed or otherwise made the experience of getting a basic mani-pedi thoroughly unpleasant, I stumbled into Tip Top Nails. This was after walking in and immediately walking back out of another half a dozen salons where we were greeted by a fog of chemical smells. I try not to be excessively picky, but let's face it, we need every brain cell we can keep, and sitting in a badly ventilated room for an hour is not going to help. Kim and Tim at Tip Top Nails did my wife and I with some jokes about names, learning English, and the nail business. They took care of the details, no excessive snipping and ripping of the cuticles, just the right amount of soak time, a bit of a massage, and laid on several smooth coats of polish. They even did that little tidying trick of using a brush and remover to clean up any stray bits of polish and make it look perfect. In the end we were absolutely thrilled to find this place. Prices are reasonable, and if you want to do a lavish spa day, you can opt for several deluxe packages. They take credit cards, and the parking is free. You can find them in the shopping area across from Trader Joe's and Target on Hwy 111. We will be back! Thank you. read more
