The lemonade used is Minute Maid which tastes like dirty socks to me. They took the drink back after a sip and I got a Blue Moon instead. Because of the two thumbs down above I had to only give . While on a quick trip to the area the Mrs.and I popped in for some lunch on the water. While it was cool that day they had clear plastic up and it did a nice job of breaking the wind. We got low table that allowed for the sun to peak in and provide some nice warmth! We both had a couple of Florida draft beers, their Cajun boiled peanuts, and a basket of wings and fries. Peanuts were really well seasoned. The fries were average coated French fries. The star of the day was with dry rub wings. Fresh not frozen( no dark bones) and cooked perfectly. I met a friend here to catch up amd hang out. The location isnperfect! Fun relaxed atmosphere on the water. The food was your typical bar food nothing outstanding but it served it's purpose. Drinks were reasonably priced. The service was mediocre at best, some of the bartenders were more concerned with their cellphones than getting our order correct. We have come here many times for drinks. Don't order at the bar where it says order here. They never come there at all. We go to the side of the bar and have to wave to get service. After waiting some servers are friendly. Some servers won't even acknowledge you. This is a beautiful place for food and drinks but management needs a tune up. read more

Wanted to split the difference between an excellent waterside bar and the absolutely horrible food service. Bar and atmosphere is 5 the food was a big ZERO, so they get 2.5 stars. First the good news. The Tipsy Tarpon could be the best waterside bar in CR. Crackers is cool, but the Tipsy Tarpon has so much more. Larger area, covered, heated, tiki tables, nice stage. The music is good but not too loud. For us, this is the place to go - AFTER dinner, or JUST for drinks. Eat at Crab Plant, Bayside, etc. and head over to the Tipsy Tarpon for after dinner drinks. FOOD - we made the mistake of trying the food here. Six of us waited for over an hour for a simple order. Wings - cold and not crispy at all. Fried pickles, limp, cold and not crispy at all. Redfish sandwich, soggy bun and the fish, was well - fishy smelling and tasted like it smelled. BTW the Redfish sandwich is advertised as a PoBoy - NOT. It came on a brioche bun. The Redfish tacos were the same, fishy smelling. Thinking this fish was frozen and not so fresh. Ahi Nachos, big big mistake, tuna was, again, fishy. A piece of fish that smells and tastes fishy is not something you want to, let alone feel confident about eating. House salad was premade and the only decent tasting thing we ordered. Not one order was finished and some food went directly back. Absolutely no reason to support the food. We had a very nice sever who explained to us the kitchen issue(s). The kitchen is a freaking food truck/trailer backed into the building. We were told that it has 2 fryers and a small griddle and that they have to stagger orders because the trailer does not have the capacity to move food quickly. WTH? Who thought that this would be a good idea? Is this a way to cut corners? A way to somehow forego traditional permitting? Easy to move the kitchen when storms approach? For the life of me who would think that this would work? I did not walk into the back where the trailer was backed into, but I was able to see it from the bar area. I cannot attest to the 2 fryers or small griddle but I have no reason to doubt our server. The cold, soggy, undercooked food really brings this place down. Go for the bar, the music, the atmosphere but DO NOT EAT there. Tipsy Tarpon you can do better, much better. read more

Well, this was a pleasant surprise. Not being from this area, and based solely on the name, I thought this was more of a dive bar. It's not. Really nice outdoor bar and dining area on a lovely waterway. We stopped here for lunch, on a Monday, and the bar and food service were both surprisingly busy. My wife and I each had a redfish basket, her's grilled mine fried. Surprisingly large portion of fish and cooked perfectly. As it happens, we traveled this area about six years ago and saw several of the places we visited back then near the Tipsy Tarpon. Very good visit, and when we come back here again will be looking for it. read more

We watched as several people sat and got waited on. We tried to get the attention of staff with no luck. After 15 minutes we left. I was here on a Wednesday and it was trivia night and they had one server and one bartender on shift. I ordered the wings which took over 30 minutes to come out. They had very good flavor but they were cold. I also ordered the fried shrimp tacos and they were served in about fifteen minutes and were much more temperature friendly. Very tasty breading. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. This place is a gold mine if they had the right staff to turn the tables and get customers in and out. Great location and great view. read more
