I bought a Synthetic-Blend Oil Change on Groupon, which is what I always get in my car, and I went into Tire Barn and they would not let me get the Synthetic Blend so I had to pay $57 on top of the original Groupon I purchased in order to use my Groupon (which was final sale or I would have requested a refund). The exterior was very run down, and the inside was disgusting. The staff wasn't helpful and an employee was also on the phone arguing with someone while I was waiting. I will not be back. read more

Bought (4) new tires 11/9/2023. paid $484.96 for the new tires and for the old tires to be disposed of. I paid another $123.96 for " mounting, balancing, standard vlv stem replacement, TPSM Reset, Alignment check, wheel torque PLUS, Lifetime balancing and lifetime rotation. I decline the Road Hazard Service (74.25) Here is the complaint and what I want everyone to know. I took my vehicle back to exercise my free tire rotation and balance. I also ask for a specific tire to be inspected for slow leak. The person attending the front desk examined my original purchase agreement and advised me that the tire rotation and balancing was not going to be free simply because I did not purchase the "Road Hazard" package. Note: Road Hazard is explained in fine print on the reverse side of the purchase agreement. Road Hazard pertains to any of the (4) tires purchased and incidental damages that occur to one of the tires etc. Free Lifetime Tire Rotation is not explained on the purchase agreement. I assure you this was not explained upon purchasing the new set of tires either. I consider this company to operate in a fraudulent matter. My advise is not to deal with predatory businesses like this. I'm am 63 years old and have purchased many sets of tires and never have I ran up against predator's like Tire Barn. read more

You know it's a Monday when you leave for work and the low tire pressure warning comes on...and then you check the pressure on the car's info panel and one tire is at 7psi!! Ugh...back home, put air in tire and see a nasty nail...drive to nearby Tire Barn and find out there are nails in TWO tires...yup...both passenger side tires had nails with one having 3 nails...no repairing that mess, so I needed two new tires. They had ones that fit my car in stock, put the two undamaged driver's side tires on the back wheels and two new tires in the front. I was out of there for a reasonable price and in less than an hour. I opted for the replacement coverage as winter and pothole season is coming and with so. much. construction. everywhere. Very accommodating, fast, easy scheduling online. I actually came in 2 days early because I needed tires quicker than I expected. I was able to get all 4 tires done, same day at a significantly lower price than other shops I had called earlier the week before. The price per options was definitely a pleasant surprise. I waited while my tires were put on. The waiting area was pretty big, and clean. The manager was super nice, and went over my options with me before making my choice. They lost my car key because it fell out of a hole in the plastic envelope it was put into. After frantically searching for it for a while, they asked me if I had a spare. I said I didn't, my original key had broken off from the key remote years ago and I had been using the valet key (which they lost) since then. While they were looking for it, I called a nearby Honda service center to see how hard it would be to get a replacement key. They said the car actually needed to be towed in and programmed to work with a new key, and it would be a costly replacement plus towing. Then I remembered that I had the broken key buried in my backpack from years ago, and I had the backpack with me that day even though I normally don't. Luckily, the key piece was still in there and the guys at Tire Barn managed to duct tape it together to start the car, which would allow me to drive to the Honda Center instead of towing. He offered to "make it right" by waiving the cost of the tire replacement + alignment. When I told him calmly that the repairs cost less than the cost of replacing the key, he snapped at me "well what do you want me to do?" He also said "you can either agree to the free repairs now and call it done, or take your complaint through corporate which might mean you get nothing." While he had seemed helpful at first, his tone was getting more like berating me for not accepting what he considered a generous offer, so I finally just agreed to the free repairs so I wouldn't waste any more time. I was understanding about how this was all due to one employee's mistake and it put the others in a difficult position, but the solution did not fully compensate for the loss of the key, my wasted time, and the towing cost that was only avoided only because I stayed calm unlike most customers would, and participated in solving a problem I didn't cause. read more

Refused to even discuss my issue at 5:15 because they were closing at 6:00. Just stated over and over that he could take care of it tomorrow. Tomorrow wasn't an option as I needed to travel across town immediately after work and I work from 8:00 to 5:00. The appointment option on the website did not work. I needed a simple tire repair (nail), There were no customers in the waiting room. It didn't appear as if there were any cars in the bay. We have 4 cars that we have purchased tires and wheels from this location and the old location on Lafayette Rd for many years. This was on a tire purchased from this location. Horrible customer service. I had to go in 7 different times just to get my tires changed. The tires never got there when they promised, even after multiple attempts. Then they guaranteed me that they would price match the tires with another competitor, but they failed to do that. They charged my credit card the FULL amount, without my approval. Months later, I went back to get a tire repaired and my tires rotated and balanced, but they said they couldn't do it because they were too busy....I was the ONLY person there. Before the winter I came here for 4 new tires. Total cost about $350. I drive a lot. Just the other day I was noticing a slow leak. I came in today to check it out. The clerk said it'd be about an hour. So I went down the street to get some lunch at Super Tacos. Great buy by the way. Upon my return I learned that the tire was fixed, for FREE!! That made my day. So I paid it forward with a $20 tip. I work in hospitality, so I know the value of good service and the reward that goes with it. This company has my business locked down and I have theirs. I'd bought tires last year from here and i got a nail in one. I'd been trying to get through this wintry week by filling up air every couple days but today the stem broke off and I had an instant flat. I traveled to back to this location where not only was store manager Michael Davis not only assured the tire could be fixed but that my back ones also needed desperate replacement. Not only did he fix that tire but apparently I had TPS issue with he other front tire that he fixed at a low low cost. Time took about an hour and half for a walk in appointment in desperate need. I watched as Michael took care of other customers with same helpfulness truthfulness and upbeat demeanor that he'd had with me when I got there. And he was even able to find me a deal. I've lived in indianapolis 12 years now and felt like (especially in this neighborhood) that customer service was all but dead. Michael Davis and the way he ran the Tire Barn today was a breath of fresh air. His coworker on today who's name I also didn't catch as he was working the back was also helpful for tips and did great work. Thanks guys. I would not recommend going to this tire barn. I had a leak in my back passenger side tire and had told the mechanic that I had filled it from 10psi to 32 just to make it there. After waiting 45 minutes for them to "check" my tires the rep comes out and tells me that all my tires are fine they just weren't all at the same pressure and that is why my tire pressure sensor went off. I informed the rep that my tire was at 10psi and that is why I brought it in. Instead of going back out to check my tire the rep tried to tell me that you lose 1lb of pressure every month and that could have been the culprit. To which I replied no I just replaced my tires at the tire barn in Castleton in December. It is now April so if I lost that much air pressure in that short of amount of time then there is a problem. Especially because the rest of my tires are fine. He then asked me how I checked my air pressure. I responded a tire pressure gauge. To which he asked me if I knew that the gauge was accurate. I told him that one tire was at 10 and the rest were at 32 where they should be so I'm pretty sure it's accurate. I don't know if this guy thought that because I'm a woman I don't know what I am talking about but it sure felt like a hint of sexism if you asked me. He then finally went out and checked my tire again. He came back in five minutes and told me everything still looked fine. When I asked if they put it in water to check for a leak he diverted the subject by telling me that my tire pressure sensor could not be reset because of the type of sensor it is. This is a complete lie because I have reset my sensor before after getting my new tires. It was at this point that I asked for my keys and left. On my way out of the store I was hit on by one of their employees who followed me into the parking lot. Maybe if they spent less time checking me out and more tire checking my tire out I would have know what was wrong instead of having to constantly fill my tire throughout my Easter weekend travels. I took my car in a few days later to the tire barn in Castleton where I bought the tires originally. In twenty minutes they found the cause of the leak which was a screw that had punctured my tire. They patched the leak and sent me on my way. No charge! Great job to the Castleton location. This is twice that they have given me great service. When I told them what happened at the other tire barn they let me know that I am not the only one who has had an issue like this. My advice is save yourself some time and drive a little further to the Castleton location. read more

Normally, I stick to downtown places when it comes to services for my car, but I was passing this place to get to work everyday for awhile. So I just put it on my list of places to check when I was shopping prices for my new tires. It was easy to pick out tires and schedule the appointment online. I showed up a few minutes late, but not a big deal - everything was still on schedule. My car went back and they caught a broken stud situation that was easy to fix, so that was a plus. The real kicker came when it was time to check out. The nice man trying to cash me out (really, he was very nice) told me the price came out to DOUBLE what I had been quoted online. DOUBLE. Oh no. Not gonna fly. I was able to produce the email with price quote and get that situation fixed. If I hadn't had that email, this could've been ugly. The really nice man was named Kevin, so look him up if you go! The workmanship was great. The staff was helpful. The only reason for 3 stars is that DOUBLING what you quote customers online seems just a touch shady. read more

I have been here since 215, for a job I was told would take 45 minutes. I have the paperwork where the time of my arrival is printed off. I am severely disappointed, because I bring my work vehicles here, too. This is the worst service I have ever received here. I was told there was one car ahead of me. Three guy that came in after me, left. I am still sitting here. Thinking about my office. Then the manager was passionately asking whomever he was speaking with in his office why they called him to "bitch" him out at 330 almost 4 in the afternoon. I will not be back. I will take my other two cars somewhere else. The worst part is the fact they came out and asked another Latina girl if she wanted to pay to have her tires al igned, but it was my car. I would NEVER recommend this location. After FOUR trips and OVER 16 HOURS WASTED at this location with no resolution, I decided to try a different Tire Barn to see if it's a company wide issue. I went in to have one rim replaced. I brought the new rim with me, all they had to do was remove the tire from the bent rim and put it on the new one. Upon removing my tire from old rim, they destroyed the tire and offered to replace it with most basic tire they had (strike 1 and 2). I decided to buy another tire so that I was replacing them in pairs. Shortly after I left the location, my TPS failed and I also notice shaking in the steering wheel from improperly balanced tires (strike 3 and 4). I brought my car back to them and they informed me that they did not move the TPS from old rim to the new one and I would have to bring old rim back...wasted trip (strike 5). When I returned, they put the TPS back in and it was "not working." I asked them recheck because it was working before they messed with it...eventually it miraculously started working again. Shortly after leaving the THIRD time, my TPS informed me that my front right tire was low... ONLY 8lbs of pressure!! (STRIKE 6). Turns out they didn't tighten the valve stem all the way. Also another tire was 43lbs of pressure, another 31, and the other 37 (STRIKE 7, 8, and 9). Took it back in and asked for the manager to fix it. He assured me it was all good. Next day, TPS informed me the front left tire was low...turns out they didn't tighten that valve stem all the way down either! UPDATE: after spending so much time here, it's become a light-hearted joke every time I have to come back. Their customer service to correct their previous mistakes has begun to wear on me. I mean I would've liked it to be done right the first time but at least they own up to their mistakes and fix the problems. UPDATE: 3 stars is the highest I can give based on all the mistakes they made and the wasted time here. The best quality is their willingness to own up to their mistakes and fix them. read more

I quickly left work at 3:45 headed down Michigan Road and called Tire Barn to ask if they had space to replace a tire before the snow. I spoke with Dale and he was wonderful! "Heck yeah" he said "you called just at the right time! Come in and well get you taken care of right away." I pulled right in, sat down and within 45 minutes I found out I did not have to replace my tire, it had a nail in it and was patched. In the waiting area I listened to Dale and the other Tire Barn experts work with customers. I was impressed with the expert care they took with each and every (some hard to deal with) customer. Tire Barn is what customer service is all about. The chain started off as an Indiana company that focused on many automotive needs, but their Tire Barn stores have been the most successful. It is easy to see why. The service here has always been friendly, honest, and affordable. They don't have "gotcha fees" and only quote the entire price of a tire with tax and installation. I have fixed numerous flats here for free and always have been given an accurate estimate in regards to time of completion. They also sell just about every brand and type of tire here, which means there is a style of tire that will fit my car in several price ranges. Plus if I want to throw some dubs on that there, they got my covered on that too! I've actually bought the upper end Michelin tires here with an 80K warranty that Tire Barn has honored at 100%. Last time in, I was 50K into the 80K tires and the gentleman pleasantly explained that if he can't fix the slow leak, I will get a new tire, just like that. Luckily, it was just a screw hidden in a groove and the tire could be permanently fixed. But as long as I am still driving, purchasing tires from Tire Barn will continue. read more

I had tires delivered by a third party company to the Tire Barn location at 4404 Georgetown, I made an online appointment and set up my transportation to get to the location to drop my vehicle off. When I arrive at the location it was closed and everything was moved to 79th and Michigan Rd location so I called and stated that I had an appointment and wasn't aware that the location of choice had moved so I would be a few minutes late, I was hung up on. When I got to the location I noted the guy behind the counter(Michael) was very rude to the customers in front of me. When it was my turn I said hello, I'm .... I was told my tires moved to this location and I was not aware he was immediately very dismissive and rude then instead of speaking with me he began to talk to the person who was with as my ride. He said I'm going to talk to him I stated that I would not get any service there and I called the company who I purchased the tires from and had my tires moved to a different location. I called yesterday to make a appt for tire rotation n a nail to be removed from my tire. I arrive this morning at 10 am only to not have a appt but to be asked did you purchase your tires from here? Well obviously. I asked them if they needed to check the system to see that I bought them there. Then 45 minutes later my Jeep was pulled in the garage. About 3 minutes later, the Mgr called me up to the front counter n showed me my tires saying they cannot rotate them because I need new tires. I just got them a year ago. I was like well no I'm not buying new tires. They were not making me happy. Plus they said they could not take the nail out either. I was already not happy because of the appt not being there. Tire Barn serves as a shining example of what NOT to do in the customer service department. Bad communication, dishonest business practices, fumbled logistics, and a lack of respect for the customer. My daughter (a college student) is local to the Indianapolis area and she hit one of Indy's notorious potholes and blew a tire. Her father researched local options and discovered her tire in stock at Tire Barn. We made an appointment, paid in full, and didn't think thought not much more of it. THREE TRIPS AND SEVEN HOURS LATER, she has a new tire. I won't trouble you with the details, but her tire was not in stock. They sent her to this store. They told her to wait at that store. It's in transit on a truck right now- can you wait? Sure thing. Oops! Didn't make it onto that truck. Oh, we finally have it but we're really backed up and this will take a few hours. A comedy of errors without so much as an apology. After missing class and missing work, she finally got her tire on trip #3. When she got her keys back, she asked if the alignment was okay. They said they were busy and hadn't checked it. That's odd, because our receipt said that an alignment check was included with every purchase... right there in black and white. She had also mentioned it at check-in because there's a strong chance that her car is out of alignment due to hitting a pothole. Not only did they not perform the alignment check that was included in our purchase price, they told her that they were too busy to do it now, but she can come back for trip #4 and they'll get it done. Flabbergasted. I'm gobsmacked by their lack of coordination, lack of communication, and lack of consideration. I finally called and spoke with manager Dell, who seemed genuinely lovely. He instructed me to call corporate and ask for a resolution- the best he could do was to actually perform the promised (and pre-paid) alignment check on trip #4. I rang Tire Barn corporate and Tim informed me that yes- alignment checks are included, but they don't do them on every purchase (as advertised) because they take 20-30 minutes and they're busy. That admission came out of the mouth of a corporate manager. He graciously offered this resolution: If my daughter takes more time away from class and work, and returns for trip #4, and the alignment check shows that alignment is needed, then they will fix the alignment at no charge so long as it's a minor fix. This could not have been fumbled to a greater degree, because the state of Indiana is reimbursing citizens right now for alignments because of the state of their roads. So, in summary: My daughter missed work and class to make 3 trips to Tire Barn. What showed as "in stock" and should have been a simple task took 7 hours. To get what we were promised (and paid for), she'll need to go back for trip #4. Upon my complaint, Tire Barn corporate has graciously offered to do what we had already been promised and paid for (an alignment check) and a simple alignment repair (if needed) that the state would already have covered. The tire should have been refunded in full. Apologies should have been issued. And I could have saved a mountain of time and trouble by asking a 4-year old to find a tire and install it.... the service would have been better. read more

Tire Barn has been my main tire shop for many years. When they rotated and balanced my tires recently, one of the lug bolts broke off. This car is 17 years old. They replaced it at a very reasonable price. That operation is fairly strenuous and took time. As I waited in the showroom, I caught up on computer work using their WiFi and I witnessed the kind way the manager, Del, took care of everyone who came in. I'm grateful! Was out of town, caught a flat, was recommended Tire Barn and dealt a big mistake. Tire Barn took off the WRONG tires, even after I told them which ones to take off. I came in to have two tires replaced. They are suppose to be tire experts right? Well tell me how you take off one of the good tires and leave me with the bad tire. I live almost 3 hours away from this location. I did not notice they had taken off the wrong tire till I'm getting ready to leave to go back home and my tire warning comes on warning me that my tire PSI is at 21. I get out to see the tire that needed to be replaced was still on it. This tire was a blowout waiting to happen and could have cost me and someone else their life had I gotten on the highway to head home. I was inconvenienced by ending up having to stay in Indianapolis and me missing work, because they took the wrong tires off. The next day they did find my good tire that they took off, but however attitude was stank and condescending when I asked for reimbursement for their ERROR. They pretty much looked at me as though, "Tough that you missed work. We made a mistake, you were inconvenienced, so get over it." Called Customer service, no better. The lady was also condescending and felt that my opinion and complaint was of no value and just wanted to shut me up by giving me a 50 dollar credit, which is fine, but the way she offered it was almost like she was doing me a favor and that I was not justified by request of reimbursement of wasting my time, and money. Used to like this place. They used to have experienced counter people who actually knew what they were talking about- now it staffed with a few young people who think they know everything. Bought tires for my wife's car 2.5 years ago. Rated at 50K. Only had 30K on them.They have worn so unevenly after 3 rotations that even in balance make the steering wheel shudder. Young punk #1 told her that they didn't warranty tires that wore unevenly. Said she needed alignment but I drove car and that was not the issue. Going to take my business elsewhere and warn everyone off this particular Tire Barn. No reason for that kind of wear other than defect. read more

I drive a 10 year old car and it was simply time for new tires. So as any fiscally responsible individual would do, I compared prices of similar or same tires at over 15 local to semi-local autoshops. I went to Tire Barns website and found tires for, what I believed to be a great price comparatively. On their website it quoted me at four tires for $475.96 (without tax), then I received a $40 rebate for ordering online (so really $435.96). Their site advertises "ALL INCLUSIVE PRICING" so what your quote is (plus tax) is what you should pay. I obviously understand tire recycling fees of $11, who cares about that. What I do care about is the fact that they tried to convince me that the $475.96 was after the $40 rebate, despite my quote (which I provided to them) stating that it should be $435.96. Somehow my "ALL INCLUSIVE PRICE" of $435.96 (plus tax) turned into a $522.05 bill. That's a truly significant price difference that I reluctantly paid. Because of this unexpected price increase, I wasn't able to purchase the warranty either. Now with that being said, I bought the tires today and they drove smoothly (although that's expected since they're brand new tires). I fully expect that they'll be quality tires and last me three or four years. The quality of the tire isn't my issue, it's the customer service. If you list an "ALL INCLUSIVE PRICE" than that price needs to be honored. read more
