I had four tires replaced on my 2015 Audi. Mr Howard took care of me when I called and went in. Patiently priced me three different options and answered all my questions. They were fast and had my car ready by 2pm the same day. I had two other tire places never return my call, so customer services was attentive here at Tire Barn. Had an appointment for 4 tires and an alignment. Waited 3 days only to find out that the only tech who can do an alignment was scheduled off and alignment could not be completed. The service writer Dan was indifferent to the situation. After 7 hours picked up vehicle and wheel weights fell off and low tire light came on. Rear wheels were never balanced and still have original weights. Called Dan and he stated they can't look at it until Sunday. After speaking to the manager he agreed to look at it tomorrow. The manager seems to be helpful hoping they can complete the work correctly. Will update the review after the next visit. read more

Horrible service. My daughter was sitting there for 4 hours today, and nothing, they were not even busy at all. kept telling her she would get car fixed in a few. Never happened. She then went to Highland Tire Barn, and way more professional, and was done in 45 minutes for a new tire, and charged $120 less than Schererville quoted for the same tire! Stay away from tire barn locations. They will not honor the manufacturer pro-rated tread life warranty. This is not the right way to do business. It's ridiculous if you only put 20k miles on your 65k mile tire and see the tire has no tread left. This review is for tire barn selling very old stock on a perishable good. Tires have a shelf life. No issue with quality of work or time it took to install 4 and a spare. The guys were top notch. They sold me 4new $320(each) tires that were manufactured three years ago and one that was 4years old. $1600 total for just the rubber. Three/four years these sat somewhere at different shops. I did know these we're coming from different locations but they did not disclose the age to me. Had to sift through receipt and it caught my eye. Had I known, I wouldn't have bought them. Don't feel grate about this place. Not sure I can recommend at this point. Edit 8/21 Customer service has been great. Their satisfaction guarantee is excellent. 500 miles or 30 days which ever comes first to be completely satisfied with the purchase. Dealing with a fellow by the name of Mark. Got the tires swapped out for new stock. Well done. Moral of the story. I should have done some research on what to look for when making new tire purchases. I would have learned what to ask and look for. Save yourself some time by asking yourself if you're ok with the age of the tire before you have them mounted. read more

Very poor customer service!! I brought my car in with a slow leak in one of my tires. The Manager told me I needed a new tire pressure sensor. After paying $80.00 for a new sensor my car now has a warning light on my dash board indicating a sensor not compatible with my car. After taking it back twice with no resolution he now tells me there is nothing he can do. I would expect a company that cared about customer service would order a new sensor compatible with my car. I bought 4 tires for a car I don't drive much at the Schererville Tire Barn years ago. They've been trouble free but I ran over a screw and had a puncture so I came in to have the tire fixed and have the tires rotated. Despite the fact that it's been years, all my tires were inspected, my puncture was fixed and the tires rotated, all at no charge. Mark, the manager, took care of it, no problem. Don't know who the tech was but he got it done quickly and was friendly, polite and informative. I recommend these guys and this store to everyone. Great service! read more

After buying my tires here for years my recent experience has changed that. Went to buy 2 new tires there last Saturday and almost spent 5 hours there. They had to order a new Stud because they had to break off the old stud. The manager said the bolt was not previously put on right that was why they had to break it off. Just so happens they originally put the old tire on and did not put the bolt on right. They still charged me anyway. Finally when they brought my car out they had apparently drained my battery which was only one year old. When the technician came out to give me a jump he said the battery was weak. I just came in to buy 2 new tires, why would they check the battery. Then some stupid customer came out and was checking out the battery while the technician was charging it. He was trying to tell me that I had to put water in the Battery that was why it was dead. Well sir, just so happens it is a MAINTENANCE FREE Battery. So just goes to show people should mind there own business. I can see this place is under new management. And not very good. read more

Terrible experience with a phone appointment. I spoke to a guy named Mark who clearly didn't want to have to be at work today. He couldn't have been more unprofessional and rude if he worked at an Ed Debevicks. In addition to giving me false information, about the tires that I had ordered that he didn't want to sell me, he pressured me to buy an inferior tire for a similar cost, he even packed a bunch of insurance products onto the tab that I specifically asked not be added. I don't know if everyone that works at this location is terrible or not, but Mark certainly is. I hope someday Mark finds a job more suited to his personality. Maybe he could be a prison guard or a zookeeper or anything else that doesn't require you to not be a dick. read more

August 29, 2018 I took my friends vehicle to TireBarn 250 US Hwy 41 Schererville for a low driver side front tire, along with having the tires balanced and rotated. They said it would take about half an hour so we went to a local restaurant. About a half hour went by and they call to tell us that we needed a new sensor and would cost $94 for one. I thought that price was ridicules (looked it up and is $30) and told them I would be right over to talk to them. After a brief conversation, they admitted that they broke the sensor off (lie #1) while fixing the "leaky tire" and it needed to be replaced anyway because it was "corroded" and also told me I would have to pay for it. I told them I am not the one who broke it and they need to be responsible for replacement. Now most people would've told them just go ahead and replace it. After a brief conversation, they said they will replace it free and would take another half an hour (lie #2). One hour later they called me and said it was done. When I looked over the work they performed and the "tire rotation" I noticed the "new" sensor was on the driver's front right. Tire rotation involves taking the fronts tires and putting them in the back. Now if they did a tire rotation, why is the "leaky right driver side tire with the "new" sensor still in the original drivers' front position?" I questioned it and they gave a lame excuse (lie #3). Anyway, to show appreciation and ended up giving the customer service man a $20 tip. After we left the store we went out to dinner and then home. The next morning I woke up and discovered the right drivers tire was flat. I called them and without any offers to accommodate me, I had to arrange to move my air compressor to get it closer to the disabled car and fill the tire. I took the car back and they said they would look into it. I then asked for the store manager, how could they prove if the tires were ever rotated since the "leaky" tire with the "new" sensor was still in the original position? The only response was they really couldn't. I asked them if they checked the tire for any leaks before it left the store and they said they didn't. They told me they would look into the leaky tire and fix it and would take about haft and hour (lie #4). Two hours later it was done but they couldn't reset the senor and would have to take it to the nearest Nissan dealer to reset. Upon their return they told me the dealer's sensor equipment was "broken" and I would have to take it there the next day. The next day I took it to the Nissan dealer and asked if their equipment was fixed and their response was "it was never broken" (lie #5). Bottom line: I will never take or recommend anyone to have their vehicle serviced at this facility. They have lied, misled and deceived me. I am sure it won't stop with me. BEWARE read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. the people are RUDE and LAZY. I purchased a set of tires from here and one of them was losing air slowly. I brought my truck in to have it looked at, waited 1 1/2 hours for them to check it out, and only to find out that they checked the WRONG TIRE. After another 40 minute wait, I was told that it was fixed. The very next day I noticed that the tire was losing air still. Due to my schedule, I was not able to bring it back until the following week. I returned to this location and told them the situation. The guy at the counter never even made eye contact with me, but sat staring at his computer playing solitaire while informing me that I would have to wait 1 1/2 - 2 hours for it to be checked out. 10/17/17 Came in to buy 2 20" front tires for the Durango as the left front had a bit a baldish edge to the inside of the tire. Made a online reservation, for 1 pm on Sunday, we dropped it off, the guy said probably about 45 minutes. Okay we are heading to Menard's next door. Well Heck they called in about 20 minutes and it was done!!! This facility is 70 miles from home and its the 4th time I've been here for tires always are pleasant and so extremely willing to help!!! Well upon driving it home I noticed that we had a slight wobble once I get around 70 mph, well took it back the following Sunday as its usually the only day I get to do stuff like this, and thankfully their open on Sundays!!!! They said they would check it out right away, I just waited in the lobby. 10 minutes later he came out said he completely re-balanced both wheels and it should be good now and apologized so very much. This entire yelp review site needs to be deleted and started from scratch. 1. The pictures of "Mr. Tire" are stock photos of some business that no longer exists. I reported this to Yelp. Not only is this now a Tire Barn, but the existing pictures of the building look nothing like this one. 2. No business owner should be claiming it; because the business no longer exists. 3. This place is full of customers every day. It is a decent place to get new tires, wheel alignments, etc... Their prices for tires are reasonable, they are open every single day, and they do a decent job. These horrendous yelp reviews are either reviewing the old business; or, it's "yelp scare", i.e. people that got burned making you think this place is horrible. Look, if you are an adult installing tires for a living over the age of 30 I do not expect you to have outstanding customer service skills. Let's be real about that. These guys are decent, not great, but they get the job done and when I did have a problem, they gave me back money. They won't smile at you, they're not going to ask you "how was your day Sir?"....but, they do their job for a very reasonable price at very reasonable speeds. By the way, the top rated yelp place for tires closest to me in Dyer was much more expensive and was a pain to deal with on the phone. These guys may not be a local hometown shop...but they have 6 or 7 bays, plenty of workers, and as I said, they get it done. So, Yelp admins, please, change the name of the business to Tire Barn; delete all the pictures, and frankly, consider deleting all previous reviews because they may be reviews of an older, non-existing business. read more

Had 4 tires mounted and ballanced. I had to go back 4 x because of a shimmy at 65mph. The 4th time I went back they put the car on the lift and never checked it. Then they claim it was a bent rim. Took it to Discount Tires right after. They rebalanced them and said there's no bent rim the tires were 1 to 3 oz to heavy and now it's smooth as silk. There's 0 reasons to go to tire barn they have no clue how to balance a tire. read more

DO NOT SERVICE THE TIRE BARN IN SCHERERVILLE, IN. They are running a racket!!! We parked in their lot, in the dark, for the Menards Christmas sale at 6:00 in the morning as their lot was full. Tire Barn was not open. They had two signs posted but they were not visible in the dark and not at the entrance, and certainly not something we could see in the dark. By the time we left the store 20 minutes later, the lot was full and they had tow trucks blocking the entrances charging people $175 to get their vehicles out or $250 to have them towed. We saw tow trucks pull up to the business when we arrived and assumed that was for the Tire Barn business only to find out it was to tow vehicles in their lot! If they don't want people parking in their lot, they need to rope off their lot. They know exactly what they are doing and splitting the money with the towing company! Called to get a price on tires for my truck on 5/4/07 that was at 10:20 am. The man I was talking to asked me for my phone number and said he would call me back in 5 to 10 minutes. It is now 1:30 pm. And still no call. I guess they do so much business that they can afford to blow off potential customers. I replaced the brakes around 4 months back. They charged me around 500 with Brake Replacements and Rotors resurfaced. Last week, I noticed steering wheel shaking after applying breaks. When I went to Mr Tier again, then told me to replace all rotors now. Charging again 390 $. This is so expensive as the parts are available in around $ 100. They are definitely ripping you off !! Bought tires for my car here a couple years ago. Staff is not very friendly. Every time I call or stop by to ask about a tire rotation they say it will be 60-90 minutes. Anyone who knows anything about cars knows that a rotation takes about 5-10 minutes. The one time I did have the tires rotated I asked if my car was ready because it was not parked where I left it and the man said no not yet. Then 20min later he said hey your car is ready (funny it had not moved from its spot when I just asked about it). They need a some real management and costumer service upgrades here.
