Here's the story of how I found Tire Central: My husband and I live in Sherman Oaks but sometimes when we feel very adventurous (and craving good Chinese food) we love driving to San Gabriel. Which is what we decided to do after sitting inside the house all day on MLK day. Well - we get to San Gabriel, stop at our favorite bakery for cream cheese danishes and decide to grab a boba tea in the strip mall next door. We see the sign - CONSTRUCTION SITE - but we want that tea and drive in to the parking lot. My husband stops the car and he's angry. (And I'm wondering why the heck is he angry?) Gets out of the car. There's a nice nail in the front left tire. He's about to blow up, but I have Yelp downloaded to my phone (Hallelujah!) so I get to save the day! Tire Central came up as a highly rated place, so we gave it a chance and we're happy we did. It's centrally located, the boys working there are full of life and energy - was so fun just watching them working with a positive attitude and smile on their faces. You can tell they have a great team there. We waited less than 30 mins, the car was ready and they didn't charge us a dime. I'd definitely come back if I lived just a tiny bit closer. Thanks to Alan and his crew for excellent customer service. He was able to help replace my TPMS sensors, hook me up with a new set of tires, and perform the alignment on my Subaru in time for the family road trip this weekend. Got my Tires changed here and noticed my "Flat Tire" light was on and was told "Don't Worry, it will go away in 1 hour". Its 2 weeks passed and I finally decided to have father go in today to have them reset it, and they basically said my father would have to leave the car there for 3 hours and there was no other option, not even an appointment. Very disappointed over something they can possibly look into quickly. read more

Prior to patching my tire, Tire Central led me to believe that the patch would hold up to a lot of driving. After they patched the tire they told me their patches had a "50/50" likelihood of holding up long term. The shop I just went to told me that Tire Central had used a "plug patch" that would not hold up very well and that a patch from the inside out could have fixed the problem for the lifetime of the tire. Now I'm spending $387 to have my tires replaced prematurely. Since a more robust patch would have cost $50 elsewhere, I am spending $337 that I would have saved if I had taken my car to a shop that provided more than a quick "plug patch". If Tire Central had told me upfront that a patch would have been 50/50 then I would have asked them to replace the tire and would have spent that $387 at Tire Central and saved myself an extra trip to a garage. So both Tire Central and I lost out on this situation. I'm giving four stars because the staff was kind and communicative, they seem like they do good work, I'm sure my lack of knowledge didn't lead to me asking the sharpest questions (though they are the experts, it's not my job to know cars and the questions to ask about them), and they are a small business which does not deserve to have their rating dropped based on a single bad experience. read more

I came for an alignment and the wait time was kinda long but, they told me before hand. Unfortunately there was a car crash right in front of the garage but, everyone was safe. I don't write a lot of reviews but when I do it's either because I was blown away by the service/food, etc or it was just a downright disaster. Well, I was blown away by the service at Tire Central. I know about this neighborhood tire shop because my wife has taken her car there before. The reason I went was I discovered I had a flat tire this morning. I was thinking about going to one of the big tire shops in my area, like American Tire Depot, Discount Tire, etc but I remembered Tire Central. I pulled up to their new location on Broadway and went in. I should have gotten the name of the gentleman who assisted me but I told him that I had a flat and needed repair. Also, I wanted a tire rotation, how much do you charge? I asked. He said "don't worry about it." Wow, that's a pleasant surprise. Thanks. I waited outside and they immediately drove my car in, fixed the tire, rotated my tires and I was set to go. I walked in the shop ready to pay for my flat repair. I asked the gentleman, how much do I owe for the flat repair? He said "nothing" I was like, what? I said I want to pay. He waved his hand at me (he was on the phone) and said "Nothing." I don't know of any tire shop, who would charge nothing for flat repair and tire rotation. Their mechanic spent at least 30 minutes on my car. This is great service which I don't experience that often. They have earned my business. read more

I had been nursing a tire that kept slowly losing air. On Friday, it told me it was finally time to get it looked at and I picked Tire Central because it was close to work and looked like it would be easy. I was correct, the staff was great. I first stopped in around lunch time they were busy. They essentially held my place in line while I went back to work and finished what I needed to. Came back around 3pm, they remembered me, got my keys and we waited maybe 20 to 30 minutes. They told me my car was ready, they were able to do the repair and it was no charge (what!?). That seriously made my day and Merry Christmas. I will be using them for my tire needs when it finally comes time to replace them. In the busy office, they worked quickly and efficiently. I went to buy a new tire since and brought in my old tire to discard that had a nail causing a flat. Alan took a look and said the old flat could be repaired and that I didnt need a new tire. Super honest and awesome. Another shop told me the flat was not repairable and wanted to sell me new tires. When I went to take out the flat tire in my trunk, Alan wouldnt even let me pick it up because I was wearing slacks and a dress shirt and tie. They fixed the flat for me in 10 minutes and the flat has held up great. 5 stars for superb and great service. Will be going back to them becuase they treat people right. read more

All the reviews are true! Went in for an alignment after finding out tires were worn unevenly after just a year of installation from another shop. I was thinking I'd need 4 new tires, but Alan just said the alignment would be good and rotating the tires should eventually wear the tires back to even. He could have easily sold me some tires since it's his business to do so but he didn't. Alignment cost was also cheapest after comparing with other shops. Been going to Costco for tires for far too long, expecting a long line and wait. I got there 15 minutes before opening and arrived just before Alan. The tire delivery truck was waiting too so he opened the gate and took care of him first. I walked in at 8:50 asking where to wait for the line (so used to Costco) and he said anywhere and that he'd be with me in a few minutes. I just had my tires replaced at Costco for uneven wear. I've had my wheels aligned 2 times in 2 years and still had uneven wear. I liked my normal place, Island Tires in Pasadena but wondered if they were doing it right, hence my visit here. He took my name and quoted me a price and told me 30-45 minutes. What a pleasant change from Costco! Even with an appointment at Costco the day before, it took them 30 minutes just to intake me at the counter due to the long line and the intake procedure..... Long story short, he came back 15 minutes later to let me know that my alignment was spot on (shout out to Island Tires in Pasadena)12,000 miles after the service. Here's what sets this place apart from the rest. They DID NOT charge me for the inspection! Any other place would have charged me for the job and I wouldn't have known the difference! He went further above and beyond by telling me that the outer wear issue is common and well known for my car, a Prius. He suggested rotating my tires sooner than the factory recommendation. I don't write many reviews but had to for this one. This is a place I will definitely give my business to in the future! read more

If you don't go early here, It takes a while for you to be serviced. I liked everything about the place but if i'm being honest, the workers here aren't too friendly. I came in here with a high positive energy and they didn't reciprocate it back, seemed stuck up. I love tire central! So the guys here are super nice, I had low tire pressure, a bubble in another tire and a nail in another one. They were able to help me patch my tire and moved the tire with a bubble to the rear. They did all this for a really fair cheap price and were really speedy too. I came in the afternoon at 1:30 and there was no wait. It took around 40 min for my car to be finished checking. Next time I have tire needs this will be the place I'll come.
