Went there had a slow leak in my tire they plugged it for 36 $ 2 weeks later my light comes on tire is low they said person didn't plug it correctly but it's my loss I have to continue to put air in the tire or get a new tire I'm a women I feel if I was a male this would of been handled differently I'm out 36 $ and back to putting air in my tire because of there negligence, I will never take my car there and I advise all other women never to take your car there they take advantage so I hope they enjoy my little $36. Really disappointed with my experience at this Tire Choice. I originally brought my car in for a new set of tires and break check. When I arrived at 8am (the scheduled time) they informed me that the tires have not arrived and shouldn't until 3pm. Later that day the office manager called me and recommended a bunch of additional service but when asked how much each of the services were, the manager did not respond. I asked how much for the oil change and he said it was "included" Turns out to have been an extra 200ish bucks just for the oil.... Additionally after picking up my car, there was some very loud noises coming from the back breaks. I had to take off work the next morning to bring it back in. They let me know that both my back shocks were totally shot. I didn't have a single issue with them before my visit. I went inside to get a quote and the office manager had me sit in the waiting room as he serviced 4 different customers who walked in without appointments. I had to walk up after 40 minutes of being ignored and ask for my keys. I called after getting to work and the office manager said "sorry I'm busy right now" and hung up on me. Extremely overpriced, not great with communication, and pretty rude service. Go literally anywhere else! read more

stopped in West Market street to have new front brake service done on my truck. A few months ago my back brakes done there and was very satisfied with the young lady I dealt with. I was shocked when they never looked at my brakes and just gave me the price, over twice as much! I'm like while why did the price more then double and was told to leave if I couldn't afford it. The Newark store has just amazed me after years of service and loyalty. The manager was not so eager to help resolve issue even after 2 visits to fix issue with alignment and denies bad alignment. I talked to corporate and said they'd pay for alignment. Get a letter from credit saying Corporate sent in paper I signed saying work was completed. They failed to honor the warranty on the back nor did they share that with credit . Took my car to Katz and they were able to do the correct alignment. Horrible shop, horrible customer service. Brought my Jeep in due to it being in limp mode. They told me codes said it was the throttle body which they replaced. I arrive to pick it up and the - Jeep wont start. They told me it was done, charged me $600 and the thing wont start-is that fixed??? His solution was to hand me an empty can of starting fluid and says, " you can take this." HOW IS THIS FIXED? How is that a resolution to my issue? And then dismissively just walked away? Not to mention while my Jeep sat there they ripped my daughter off and charged almost $300 for a battery when it was the alternator! Let's not forget the cost of 2 tows because of their incompetence! I went to the Brooklyn Ohio location for a 4 wheel alignment. At the time I wasn't aware that the rear sub frame was completely rotted out. The right thing to do I feel would have been to come out and tell me but instead r they attempted to do it even though they shoulda have known that couldn't. I went there for a brake job, came out with a bad 'strut'. Had the struts fixed 2 years previously. By the time I got home my tire had just about falling off. It's still just sitting in my driveway because after the 650 bill for a brake line, I'm just not sure what to do. That place is a baddddd joke, apparently the district manager is not doing his job, 6 months the Tallmadge shop had people's car and weeks later still looking for car owners. A nightmare. I had been shopping around for a new muffler. I have a 2014 Subaru Outback that needed it looked at so my husband dropped it off for a free inspection. Mike text me with pictures of the current muffler and what he recommended needed done. His estimate was very competitive and I really appreciated his level of detail. He had the part in and installed within a day. My car sound great now. I definitely recommend them as your local shop! Sidenote - their customer service is high recognized. Great dependable service, the mechanics are knowledgeable and work with you. These guys extended the life of the beaters I drove in college. Without the mechanics at Monro, I would not have been able to make it to class, my jobs, or internships around the area. I credit this Monro store for having kept my college-beater running, and without that I don't know where I would be. Dependable mechanics around Akron are hard to come by in my experience. As an independent college student, I found that the people at Monro, especially this Monro, go above and beyond for their customers in so many ways. Used them a year ago to get my AC fixed as this was one of the places my warranty company used. Let's say they are a joke. Never did anything and after being told they could do my AC for 2500. But could lower it down to 2100 for the condenser with discounts and they would have to keep it for 3-4 days. I also got my back brakes done and those cost close to 500.00. This is the second time I've used Monroe over the last 2 months. I had brakes done the first time and Mike took the time to explain, and show me, what was going on. So when my engine light came on and my car started riding rough I called them at 6 pm and Mike told me to drop it off. The next day Mike called me about 2:00 pm, and also texted me a picture of my spark plugs. My car was fixed by 5 and the price was very reasonable. I'm very happy with the service I got. I had dropped off my car last night and they worked on it right away, when I had just called. They gave me an estimate for finishing it up that night or keeping it overnight. For all that they did, it was reasonable. I usually go to a private mechanic and the price was similar. I've previously had both positive and negative experiences at this location, as well as others in the Akron/Canton area. This past weekend, my girlfriend's brake light came on in her 2006 Hyundai Sonata, and there was a noticeable issue with her brake pressure. She dropped her car off here to find out what the issue was, as she had just gotten her brakes fixed a few months ago. About an hour and a half after dropping her car off, Monro called her back saying there wasn't anything wrong with her car. Clearly there was an issue so on the way home she stopped at Advance to see if they could get a trouble code, which the Advance employee (who was more than happy to help) noticed that there was no brake fluid at all. How did Monro not notice this? Trained professionals trying to fix a brake issue and they didn't even check the fluids? This is absurd. Are they poorly trained? Stupid? Lazy? We'll never know for sure, but the negative experiences at various Monro locations have definitely outweighed the positives, which are few and far between. I don't believe we will be taking our vehicles to any Monro locations any longer. read more

Under new management, they came through for me twice within the last month and quickly. New battery on first visit but with a further diagnosis of needing an alternator. Then the alternator. No waiting. This location could probably use a new and larger building but they still seem to need more mechanics to be more viable. I have been coming to this location for years because I live very close. I can't say I have ever been 100 percent satisfied with the work of the customer service especially, but I have never had a huge problem there until now. We took my car in because the tire of our car was rubbing against our fender and driving really poorly. We have a 2 year old little girl and we need to make sure our car is safe. So we bring it in and explain the problem and ask one of the guys to specifically look for the problem and told him what was going on. A couple hours later we receive a call saying they did an alignment and it's ready. Pick it up..30 seconds later the problem is still there. The next time my husband got in the car to drive it the cradle had broken completely and he lost control of the car. Luckily nothing bad happened and everyone was safe. Clearly these guys did not take the time to look at the car. They noted the symptoms and decided an alignment would do. That is poor work. It is unacceptable. We have called and they are rude (nothing new) we will have to get the car fixed only to get another alignment even though this could have been fixed if they didn't do an alignment on a car that had a problem. So we are out the money for an alignment that shouldn't have been done and out the money to get it fixed and get another alignment. Shame on this place. Get some guys in there that actually know cars and won't do half ass jobs. read more

It's refreshing to still find honest repair shops out there. Not the one's that pressure you with all the red yellow green charts and adding on anything and everything they can, regardless of what you came in for. I have went to this location 3 times now and have never felt pressured. The guys offer to show you anything they find on your car. Plus, they make RECOMMENDATIONS, and leave it at that. No pressure. No attitudes if you don't buy a thousand dollars in repairs. All around good experience all three times I went there. read more

This place is a ripoff! The manager twice quoted me the price of $1,056 to replace a catalytic converter. When I arrived to pick up my car, the price was $1,156 and the manager insisted that is what he quoted me. Worse, he charged my credit card TWICE for $1,156! He didn't seem to know how to run a credit card and I should have been suspicious then. I left a message at the corporate customer service office. If they do not immediately contact me in the morning and immediately return the overcharge to my credit card, my next call will be to the Ohio Attorney General's consumer fraud division to report their theft. read more

Worst garage i have ever taken a car to. No management. Poor customer service. Do not trust mechanics to do a professional job after watching them check my car. I needed front end work and they did not check out the entire front end. Had to ask for a quote which was incomplete. Made an appointment that was cancelled because of management issues. Was called two hours after appointment (i had been to the location and called every fifteen minutes to see why they were not open) to tell me they would not open that day and could not give me another appointment time. I used to like Monro but if this location is any indication of the overall company i will never go to Monro again at any location. I would never recommend Monro to a friend or an enemy as far as that goes. read more
