This place is a joke. My mom bought 2 tires here and they charged for the road warranty. She got a nail in her tire and got stuck on the highway. We took the tire in ,they said they didn't have that tire in stock but would try to find 1. That was Saturday. We waited till Tuesday. They said they hadn't found one yet. We waited . They said they would call when they found 1. It was Friday I called the manager said they didn't find 1 and my Mom would be fine driving on the spare. She is 85, I don't think so. I have never been treated like that by a tire place. They usually either find a tire to replace it or give you money off another tire. We will never buy tires here again. I suggest you don't either. FORGET ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS!! My fiancé and I had a tire blowout Saturday night. We were able to make it home using the fix a flat but with no spare tire we knew a replacement was needed. This was one of the only tire shops around us with Sunday hours so I set up the appointment as soon we got home. Today I had to call the shop and let them know we may be a little late because the car was going to need a tow to the shop. The gentleman I spoke with was awesome. Gary was understanding and compassionate to our situation. He made sure on the call that he had a tire that could fit our vehicle even before the tow truck headed his way. We got there he sold me two new tires and I suggested an alignment. He never once tired to upsell me or offer me something I didn't need. The best part was the work was done correctly, at a reasonable price, and it was completed in a timely manner. We dropped the car off at 11:00 AM and it was done by 1:00 PM. I highly recommend talking to Gary about any car trouble you might have. MY rating BEST. read more

Great service every time I go thru they help me with whatever I need and have a better deal than other local shops. 10/10 would recommend.

Past experiences here have always been pleasant. Took vehicle to get a state inspection. Inspector claimed brake pads were past service life of 2/32in and failed the car. I replaced the brakes myself and all but one of them were 2X the serviceable limit. I took the old pads back in to see if there had been a mistake. Inspector brought out a metric measuring device claiming that 2mm was close to 2/32nds. Missouri inspection handbook has the measurement in inches, why would the inspector even bother measuring in metric is beyond me. When confronted the inspector would not own up to the mistake. He just tried to talk his way out of it. I will not be taking my vehicles to this shop again and a complaint has been made with Highway Patrol Troop C. I encourage any customers of any service "trust but verify". Missouri requires you to get an inspection from a company that is in business to sell sell sell. This raises a conflict of interest. They were going to charge over $400 to repair the brakes. I did it myself for under $60 and an hour of my Saturday. read more

I have had a nightmare of a time with two of your Autotire/Tirechoice stores and still don't have a fully working vehicle. I originally brought my vehicle to the Sunset Hills, MO location in mid April this year for brake work because Rick has been great for tires. . I don't have the receipts in front of me, but the general list from the initial visit was that the master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, and the pads/shoes needed replaced. I went ahead and paid for that upfront and within a week, that mechanic and manager told me that they also had to change the brake boost and now couldn't get the brake pedal to have any response at all. They offered to have it towed to the Arnold store where they had a more experienced mechanic. Little did I know that this was also when both that mechanic and that manager were leaving to go work somewhere else. The Arnold mechanic looked at everything and gave me a list of things that the first mechanic "screwed up" including clamping the lines, which collapsed them, put the drums on the opposite sides, adjusted the brake boost incorrectly, seized the emergency brake (it definitely was working before all of this started), cracked at least one cylinder screw, and broke another. All in all, nearly every part of my braking system has been replaced except for the front calipers by the end of this. ...this process took 8 weeks of back and forth. Week 5 or 6, during one of my regular calls (since they nearly never called me), they said that it was done and ready to pick up. So we went there, test drove it in the lot, and returned it. The pedal barely had pressure and the car barely slowed to a stop at low speeds. Week 7, they called me to tell me it was done. It felt a little better, but at this point we were going to bring it to another shop to check their work. That became irrelevant less than 2 miles later because a noise started to click, then got louder, then my wife who was following called me because smoke was pouring from my right rear wheel. We quickly got to a safe lot and saw that brake fluid was coming out and burning. If I had driven any further or had blindly trusted them, I would have been without any brakes in short order. I called the manager, Sam, who helped me set up a tow to the nearest GM dealer. Sam did try to make things right-er and authorized the initial repairs, which took less than two days, and now the brakes are strong. I have to give Sam credit for that part. After leaving the GM dealership, I then found that the parking/emergency brake doesn't have much of a grip. I did test it in their lot before leaving, but it was flat. Once I was able to get to a safe slight hill to test it, I put the parking brake on, put it in neutral to simulate that the brake fluid had leaked, and the car started rolling from a dead stop. So, the GM dealer requested to Sam that they need to authorize further costs to fix this issue and magically, he's no longer at that location. I then called Monroe's (owns Autotire/Tirechoice and CarX) customer support number. Your customer support reached out to the district manager only to not ever get back to me. I had to call a week later to find out s/he has said that they're not going to fix the additional issue of the parking break that wasn't obviously wrong until I could drive the vehicle to a slight decline off of the GM dealer's lot. This doesn't even include the fact that I have no real idea if what I initially paid for was even what was needed. That mechanic, according to your own second mechanic, screwed up so much of the braking system that there's no way to know if I overpaid or not. Or was the second one full of it? Twice, I was told that it was safe to drive, and safe to put our 2 year old son in (not that I have), and twice it could have ended disastrously if I hadn't been so cautious and untrusting of your mechanics and managers. Took 2 hours to do an oil change, they decided to rotate my tires, they put the bald ones in the front, like I had specifically just avoided by getting new ones for the front, on a front wheel drive car. I have almost wrecked 4-5 times as a result of sliding around, I just paid to avoid this. They were also incredibly rude and inept, none of them could even drive my car so I also had to worry about them burning my clutch read more

Arnold - Richardson Road location Since moving to this area, I have bought 3 sets of tires and have used this location for all my automotive needs. This time I found a great deal on the tires that I wanted on Amazon - shipped to store and tires mounted and balanced for under $500.00. I should add that when I called the store for a price check, I was quoted over $800 for the same service. Can you blame me for wanting to save some money? When I showed up the morning of my appointment, I was constantly referred to as "the guy who bought from Amazon". I was repeatedly talked down to and got nothing but attitude from all employees (including the managers). Before leaving, I checked all tires and none of the valve caps were on so again received attitude when I requested they be replaced. When my vehicle was brought in they were there so I expect it to be returned with same - not being unreasonable by any means. Also, I asked that the better of the 4 tires being removed be mounted to my spare rim. After arriving home, it was obvious that the tire had not been balanced so another trip to the store and of course more attitude. This is not the only time I have had issues with the employees at this store but yet I returned to give them another chance. I am all out of chances with this store and I can tell you I will not be returning. I currently have a car and a Jeep that need tires and I assure you I will be going elsewhere. Shame on you for losing a very good customer who tried to give you the benefit of the doubt several times. read more

I left my car for an oil change and a tire rotation. I paid up front as I had fathers day plans. Picking up the car notes were written on the reciept, getting home I read the notes. Stated my rear brakes need replacement Front tires were worn and rear tires need replaced not much later. Tires are 1 year old with not many miles. Using my tread wear gauge I took reading rear at 7 and front at 6; 10 is the new tire bench mark. Questioning the counter person why the recommendation? Oh not a rush to replace just a note (tires are 70% and 60%) i asked did you rotate the tires---NO. Nowhere on the ticket does it say tires weren't rotated. I look at these as half truths. No confidence in this repair shop, by the way I bought the tires from them last spring. read more

When I made the decision in April 2010 to purchase 4 new Yokohama Avid V4S tires from Auto Tire located at 1914 Richardson Road in Arnold, Missouri, I thought that, as these tires had a 60,000 miles warrantee, I would not have to purchase tires again for my 2002 Suzuki Gran Vitara; I would most probably be trading in my vehicle before I had to worry about purchasing tires again. Who would have guessed that these tires would be completely WORN OUT at 25,000 MILES?? I did it the right way: 4 new tires, alignment, balance, stems. I even made it a point to come in at recommended intervals to get my tires rotated - see related schedule. I was attentive to my tire pressure - 30# per tire. Each and every time I had these tires rotated, I made it a point to ask how they were holding up - were there any problems, anything I needed to be aware of and remedy. Each and every time, I was told that everything was 'just fine'. Can you imagine my shock and dismay when on my scheduled May 14th rotation appointment, I was told that they would NOT do the rotation - "there was not enough tread on my tires to be safely rotated"? A follow-up trip to speak to the Manager Chuck Grigg on May 19, 2015 proved that indeed, my tires were worn out - although the wear was even, with nothing major showing neglect or damage to any of them. When I asked exactly HOW this could be, I was told it could be any one of a number of things: Incorrect Tire Pressure - although these tires showed NO unusual or excessive wear, either in the center, indicating over- inflation; nor on the shoulders edges, indicating under- inflation. An Alignment Problem - although once again, these tires showed EVEN wear, with no feathered edges, no cupping nor cupped edges, no excessive or uneven tread wear on either side; nor was there any pulling upon breaking, and steering was perfectly straight, even when the steering wheel was released. When I questioned this theory, I was told that I really should have had an alignment yearly to avoid problems such as I was experiencing. REALLY?????? I think my biggest problem was that I received BAD PRODUCT from Auto Tire, NOT that they were improperly maintained. On seeing my displeasure and not being able to give me any definitive answers to my questions, Chuck said he'd like to keep me as a customer, and would work with me, first presenting me with an estimate of over $700 for a new set of tires ('discounted'), then when I told him there was NO WAY I was prepared to spend that much, he presented a second estimate, this time for a package totaling $506.67 - again 'discounted' and "giving me a break" - which I declined. (why in the word would I spend such an amount for a product I couldn't trust to perform as promised, with a company that made guarantees they would not honor . . . ) I showed Chuck all my documentation: copies of my original purchase agreement, along with service tickets showing dates of rotation. Under 'Services requested' on the ticket dated August 26 - 4 month after purchase - I brought attention to the fact I believed these tires to be wearing either prematurely or unevenly. They checked my tires and rechecked my alignment. Once again, I was assured all was well, and there was NO problem. All I wanted from Auto Tire was to purchase a good product, and be treated fairly if there was a problem. I received neither. Is there any way I can get additional help to satisfactorily resolve this issue? As it stands now, I strongly advise everyone to STEER CLEAR of this outfit . . . NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

I brought my car in Saturday 11-17-2018 for an oil change, tire rotation and a radiator flush and fill. When I picked up my car I noticed that my tires were not rotated and I went back in to let them know it was not done. The gentleman said we must have missed that and said give me 10 minutes. I said I would be back. When I got back they said they did it but that is still a lie. The sensors in the tire were the same as when I brought them in. LF 28 RF 28 LR 35 RR 30. This is the second time they have neglected to rotate. Not sure if most customers are diligent to notice this but I am. If you were ever thinking about coming here, DON'T. I had tires from Amazon shipped here because they are Amazon's Service partner. The manager (Sam) spent 20 minutes in the shop yelling at the guys about Amazon, cursing and telling them that he is cheaper. He came back up and told me I should never use Amazon again. I had an 11 appointment and he told me he didnt know anything about it and it would be a couple hours. I have 3 confirmations on my phone and he still argued with me and went in the shop cursing and yelling. He has been back in the shop the whole time complaining about everything. Someone came in for an inspection and he told them he lost his whole crew a week ago because the company will not pay them right. I wonder if it has anything to do with his extremely TERRIBLE attitude. It took 2 hours and 25 minutes to put a set of tires on and he actually had the nerve to confront me about my Facebook review halfway through. Another review described, the manager, as arrogant and rude. I agree wholeheartedly with that statement. I would also add that he will tell you anything you want to hear, no matter how untrue, if it keeps you (and your money) from taking your business elsewhere. I recently took to my car to Autotire for a state inspection. My early morning appointment was made in advance. Two days before the appointment they called to reschedule because a technician would not be on duty. Fair enough, I rescheduled for later in the week at the same time. The evening before the appointment they called to reschedule me a second time. I'd already rearranged my schedule once and wasn't willing to inconvenience myself because of their poor scheduling. I'm not sure how long a state inspection is supposed to take but I scheduled the initial appointment for 7:30am so I could get in and out quickly. On the day of the appointment, I didn't get a call that the car was 'done' until 11:50. Upon arrival, my car was NOT done as they were still running an emissions test at the time. I was also told that my less than six month old wiper blades needed to be replaced. I then proceeded to wait for another twenty minutes while they located my paperwork and car keys. Not once in that time did anyone alert me to what was going on, just left me standing at the front counter. Only one person asked if he could help me. It was about the same time that the manager came around and said he was helping me, only to walk away shortly thereafter without acknowledging me (the customer!). NEVER AGAIN. I wasted half my day waiting for them to get their act together and try to bleed money from me for nonexistent problems. And forget about their supposed deals on oil changes. They are neither quick nor cheap. It's more efficient to do them yourself with instructions from a 'Auto Repair for Dummies' book. I'm giving them one star only because of the very nice technician who helped me replace the wiper blades. read more

I have been going to this store for several years and have been "generally satisfied" with their service. The managers are very friendly and helpful. I recommend them for general "basic" mechanical service and anything tire related...however if you need something fixed that is more complex, I have to recommend that you consider a dealer or another supplier. I recently had a steering issue. They stated that I needed a new tie-rod as well as a new power steering pump. They repaired/replaced both. The problem persisted and they ended up replacing both items NUMEROUS times, each time blaming the problem on the parts that they were provided. After returning/replacing 5X, I decided to take my vehicle to the local dealer and it was fixed the first time. I ended up paying for the FIX two times (once at AutoTire and once at the dealer). I honestly believe that they (AutoTire) did their best to repair the problem, but it obviously was beyond the scope of their expertise!? Great guys, just beware and keep your problems to tire related and/or simpler basic mechanical issues. read more

I experienced terrible service at this location. The first time I went in, I stood at the front desk for roughly ten minutes before someone acknowledged my existence. I had an appointment for an inspection, but was asked to reschedule because their machine was down. That's understandable, and I rescheduled for another day. The second time, I waited less time, but still an unacceptable wait time to not even be greeted. I gave them my keys and sat down in the waiting room. Approximately 40 minutes later, the lady at the front desk came back to tell me that my car was just being finished up, and that it would be only be a few more minutes. She also told me that I failed the inspection because I had a low beam out. She told me that they could do it in store, but it would take 3 1/2 hours and $300, because they would have to take the bumper of my Beetle off to get to the light. I told her I would be shopping around. She then went back to the desk. Twenty minutes later, I walk up to the desk to see what was going on with my car. A man walks up, and I explain the situation to him. He goes in the back to get my paperwork and key. He tells me about the headlight, and I asked about the location, because I have fixed it at home myself. He insists that it is something that will be hard to do, and that it is best to do it at a shop. The kicker, however, was that he got snotty with me and said, "Oh, just to let you know, we need a full hour for the inspection." I reexplained why I came up to the desk, but he didn't seem to particularly care. I have no intention of going back to this shop. I am not sure if the various people at the desk thought that it was okay to treat me this way because I was a woman in the store on my own, or if they treat everyone in the same way, but no one deserves to be treated as if one is wasting their time, considering that we pay them for good service. And by the way, the low beam took about an hour to replace and go out and buy the bulb, as well as less than $20. read more

I,m not one for writing reviews - thought this should be posted- still waiting for manager to contact me as courtesy for a replacement part that was misplaced- been over a month. Does not surprise me because he never called when my vehicle was being worked on, I had to contact them. For one thing mechanic doesn't show one day, than the next day shows up after two in afternoon, to work on vehicle, manager said be done by 6;00pm well was not. I stood outside the bay until completed 845pm. If i would not have been there they would have closed up without calling me once again and another day without vehicle. [ customer service from the manger does not exit] there is no word to describe the attitude this man has. {beware]. Once again I have to find another place of business for my vehicles to get fixed. Will never go back there and pass the word on for others to do the same. Absolutely worse customer service around. Bought new tires a year ago decent service and time. Recently got new tire pressure monitor system. Worst experience of my life. Left my truck 3 different times. (Wish I could tell all the horrible service). But finally picked up my truck after the district manager twice telling me it would be taken care of( after I left for a trip to Florida and still not taken care of) was still not resolved. Promised it would be done. 20 seconds after leaving the lot the tpms light came back on so on a Friday night in pouring rain I had to fill all of my tires air. Not one tire was above 27 psi. I was given questionable service by this business multiple times before I finally took it upon myself to learn something about cars. Saying this, you should read to the end of my review because they corrected an error they made. I once needed a hose replaced and when looking at it saw that it had been duct taped and not even replaced, a repair I was charged about $140 for. Another time they had said I needed my brakes pads replaced urgently while getting an oil change and I was worried enough to have them replaced; I now realize there was no way they needed to be replaced, they had been used for less than 12,000 miles. When I had wisened up to the place a friend told me that this place had done the same thing with the brakes for her van while getting an oil change. I am not sure if she actually needed the pads changed but they did charge her $600 for four pads replaced, which is ridiculous. They also add all kinds of ridiculous service fees to simple bills. EDIT: Upon showing them the filler house that had not been replaced they went ahead and replaced it for me so they might not be all bad. read more

**SERVICE FAIL** Took my daughters car into Autotire for new set of tires, alignment, and state inspection. car was dropped off at 7am, at 3:30 pm car was not done. When car was finished she was paying and noticed the bill was a little lower the quoted ?? after questioning manager, "oh yea we didn't get the alignment done because our machine was down, No call, no heads up?? inspection failed?? newer car serviced at the dealer?? oh come to find out, Autotire left the car on the alignment rack for 5 hours with the brake pedal set and brake lights on, ran down battery, had to jump the car to start it?? Didn't mention that either. These folks are a joke, DO not go near them RUN AWAY!! everyone has nearly the same price on tires, service and honesty is what you pay for. THAT DON'T HAVE A LICK OF SENSE AND WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE. read more
