First off I would like to start off by saying we have been bringing all of our vehicles to this location for years and have had no serious issues until our last visit. We took our car to get an emissions recheck after we had it originally completed there and it failed. We had them replace all four tires and spark plugs and was told that it needed additional work done that they did not do at their shop and they recommended where we could go. We had the work completed at their recommended garage and then took it back to Ballwin Plaza Auto Tire on December 21st to have the emissions redone. As driving back to Plaza, I noticed that my tire monitor system light was on. I walked around the outside of the car to see if I saw any low tires. I couldn't see any tires that looked really low so when I dropped it off on the 21st for the remissions check I mentioned that the tire monitor system light was on and since they just replaced all four tires could they just check air pressure too. Our car was dropped off around 9:45 am on Saturday, December 21st they called us Monday, December 23rd to say it passed the emissions test and was ready to be picked up. My husband dropped me off to pick the car up around 9:45-10:00 on the 23rd, I noticed immediately damaged to the drivers side area (front bumper and wheel well area). I called my husband to tell him and he said to report it right away inside. when I reported it, one of the mechanics came out and took a look at it. Both us us could clearly see that this was a fresh dent and scrap. I followed him back inside where he said that he would check pictures that they took of the vehicle to see if the damage was there prior to them pulling it into their bay or not. While I was sitting in the waiting area, I called the other shop to see if they could look at any footage from when they had the car to show any photos that could prove that damage was not there while the car was in their care. Unfortunately, they said they did not. in the meantime, the mechanic that told me he was going to look at their pictures came back out and told me that they had pictures of every angle of my car except the area where the damage was. I asked if they could check video footage of the 48hours that our car was there to see if another customer may have it it while it was in their parking lot waiting to be pulled into their bay for service. he said only corporate could review camera footage and that they would request that and let us know what they discovered. Within an hour, they called my husband and said they had video footage showing the damage was there when they pulled it out of the parking space to pull into the bay. I knew that the damage was not there (I noticed it right away upon pick up, so I am certain I would have noticed if it was there when I walked around the perimeter of the vehicle to see if any tires were low), so we went to see this video footage they had. they showed us maybe 30 seconds of video out of the 48 hours my car was in their possession, in the video you could see the damage to the car. they claim that was the only time that they moved the car and that our car remained inside from that time (Saturday, December 21st around 2:38 pm) until Monday morning but without viewing all 48 hours of video footage, how do I know that for sure??? I took it to an auto body shop on Monday afternoon to confirm the damage was brand new and to get an estimate on the damage. It was confirmed to be new damage and and an estimate of a little over $1900.00 was given to me. Unfortunately, it is a our word against their word situation. I am just disappointed that they just refuse to take responsibility for their actions and are okay with losing customer who has been taking all of their vehicles there for years. read more
