Took my car in to replace clutch mater and slave cylinder on Toyota mr2 spyder. After install, mechanic had difficulty bleeding it. After 1.5 days I called and found out and told them what needed to be done and made sure they knew what needed to be done. The next day they called me and told me it was done and they said it drove great. I picked it up and found the clutch was still sticking like it was before. I opened the hood and found the fluid was leaking out of the master cylinder where it was not screwed in all the way. i finished screwing it in and put it up on ramps and spent about 5 minutes bleeding it and now works fine. read more

I brought my car in for 4 tires and an alignment. The shop only installed 3 tires and told me the fourth wheel was "seized" and that I would need to pay for new studs and labor. I paid $870 and left without the alignment being done. I took the car to another mechanic, and the wheel came off in minutes -- it wasn't seized at all, it was just left-hand threaded. I was almost charged for unnecessary repairs, and this could have turned into a safety issue. Very disappointed with the diagnosis and incomplete work. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving repairs here. read more

I went to get an oil change for a 22 year old car- prices were high but that was the least of my concerns. Upon drop-off (with an appointment) I told the people at the desk I would be staying at the location- it took them two hours to even get my car in the bay, another thirty minutes to do the oil change. The real issue here was their blatant attempt to take advantage of me. I am a young woman- the man at the desk in his best "sing-song" (obviously lying) voice told me my battery was "dead" and that "the mechanic needed to jump my car to start it", all wile refusing to look me in the eye while blatantly lying. Luckily, I am smart. I know my battery did NOT need replacing, and told the mechanic that. I asked, out of curiosity how much this new battery would cost me and he gleefully responded "350 dollars!", when I asked how much the oil change alone would cost, he muttered "62". I told him once again I know my car did not need a new battery and said I will just be paying for the oil change. He was insufferable from then on out. He refused to tell me where my car was parked, or where the additional lots were, sending me on a wild goose chase for my own vehicle. What terrible service! It is abhorrent that in the year 2025 sleezy mechanics like this are still trying to take advantage of women. My advice to the consumer- don't go here! My advice to the business- if you are going to try to cheat me of my hard earned money- at least learn how to lie properly! read more

Got a slow leak in a tire on the trip to the Outer Banks. Called them when we got settled and they said " Sure we can fix it for you. Bring it in tomorrow morning". Dropped it off early and it was ready after lunch. New valve stem fixed the problem. The repair price was very reasonable. I would recommend this business. read more

The folks at Tire Choice impressed us with their knowledge, friendliness and commitment to track down the source of the problem and fix it while we waited. Dropped my rim off to get serviced and came back to pick it up a few weeks later and they had lost my rim and informed me that they didn't even have a record of me dropping it off. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Actually the worst i have ever experienced, don't make an appointment because it won't matter. If you live/work in a touristy area, guess what you should expect? TOURISTS! We made an appointment then were told (quite rudely may i add) that it didn't happen. I had proof I made the appointment but that's neither here nor there. Set a appointment online for 11:30 showed up and talked to front desk at 11:10 he saw my appointment for 11:30 and didn't make me aware that they scheduled someone over my appointment I come back at 12:30 my car had not been touched Ididnt get my tires on until 1:50 and when I asked why it took so long and if there is some kind of discount for taking so long when I set appointment he said it was my fault for scheduleing it over another appointment using their own website and that this isn't papa johns when I just wanted to know if there even was some kind of policy for saying you can do something at a certain time not doing and keeping me in silence about it until I'm at the checkout. stopped in Wednesday August 16th when the shop opened to get my spare tire mounted. No one waiting or in the shop bays, so they weren't busy. I was asked if I could leave the vehicle as they had appointments and would try to work me in. I told them I was on vacation and this was my only transportation. I said it shouldn't take long to mount the spare tire. They wouldn't help without an appointment! customer service FAIL! I would not recommend this shop to anyone who needs service! read more

Stopped by with a family member who got a flat tire on vacation. Made an appointment for them to patch it. They took care of it while we walked around downtown. Of course, my car also had a nail in it and had been loosing air. They patched that one up too. Hopefully the nails will stay away from our cars for a while! Don't send your wives, daughters, sisters, or female friends here. These people prey on those that don't appear to know much about cars and then charge insane rates to fix their mistakes. I took my car in for an oil change and was told a tire rotation was included in the price. An hour later, I received a call saying that they had broken the lug nuts off of my tire. They advised that they would have to buy new lug nuts and studs and would be charging me for the labor to fix their mistake. They threatened to hold my car hostage until I paid the full amount. $121 and 3 hours later I have my car back, and will be checking to see what else they've messed up. I cannot tell you how many people I have recommended to use your service! Pulled into the garage as my Suburban died 10 minutes before closing. Truck was filled to the brim for my Sons NYE wedding the next day. Was traveling the following morning to attend. Heat pump was shot. The Manager and another young man stayed 1 1/2 hours pass closing time to replace pump and make sure I would be safe to travel. My Jeep's alternator failed while on vacation. Everyone there was very nice and professional, taking care of the issue in a timely manner.

First mistake was not changing my oil my self as I do every other time. I called and they were prompt at telling me to bring my truck over and it was done rather quickly. The problem I have is the quality of work that was done. Very sloppy I got home and popped the hood to find oil all over the place. Had to spend at least 20 minutes cleaning up the spilled oil. I hate to say it but I will never bring my truck or wife's car back there again. read more

I'm am currently sitting in the lobby of a Tread Quarters and am beyond livid. I am getting 2 tires installed. When I called for the quote and appointment, I was given a total and when I get here, the price is double what I was quoted because of all of the add ons. I did ask for price all in when I called. Now they have added a lifetime repair, balance and rotation to the mount and balance cost. I asked that to be taken off because I do not want to pay the extra money because every dollar is going to my daughters college tuition. The gentleman had the nerve to ask if she would be the one driving it. What does it matter who is driving the car? I do not appreciate the fact that in that moment he absolutely insinuated that I was some terrible mom because I wasn't protecting her by paying extra for something that is not needed. I have to give 1 star because it made me submit something! I wouldn't even give a rating! Was on vacation and we ran over something metal that cut the tire down. They were able to get a tire but within an hour after we left my teenage daughter called as the tire had gone flat again! We had to have the spare put back on by a generous local law enforcement officer! Two nights in a row we had to have assistance. Come to find out Monday morning by a Reputable Local Shop, that Tread Quarters MISSED a huge cut in the rim from the same thing that caused the tire damage. After seeing it myself, NO IDEA how anyone trained could have missed it! When I went back to them, the Manager had an attitude and talked down to me. Same as when I called in a panic to find a tire to get home! Rude and totally unprofessional! I would highly recommend you take your car anywhere but the Manteo Tread Quarters! What if my child had been driving at high speed? He didn't even care! I walked out disgusted that this place is even in business! Do NOT go there! read more

They scammed me. Came here for an oil change before a long trip. After asking me whether I knew what type of oil the car has (I didn't, this is a blatant technique for casing their targets), they drained the oil to "check what type of oil" my car uses. After draining my oil, they said they could only put in the most expensive oil, totaling over $90. I suggested they put in something cheaper, but they claimed that they couldn't do that or at the very least would provide no warranty whatsoever. The actual value of this oil is about $25, but they quoted charging me $84 for it. This immoral and manipulative behavior is completely inexcusable. Please consider whether you want to support thieves when you decide where to get your oil changed. If you do have the misfortune of having to visit this store, I highly suggest you keep your guard up to prevent them from swindling you similarly. read more

Tire threads had the tire we were looking for. We called and he said to come down and it would cost around 100 dollars plus tax. The tire ended up only being 98 dollars. They had an area to sit in where you could drink coffee or water and read magazines. The owner was also friendly. read more

I dropped my truck off for scheduled maintenance. I paid the $112.38 bill and pick up my truck. It was clear the tires where not rotated and the old wipers where not changed. The manager did change out the wipers blades and stated he would check on the tire rotation. The next day I checked the oil and the oil was not changed either. The manager never called me back as he stated, so I made an appointment elsewhere to have the work done "This Messed up my Schedule, big time". At the other maintenance shop the technician and I agreed, the oil was not changed either. Not looking for a refund and as a curtesy to tread quarters I went by to drop of the invoice so they can take the corrective actions, the manager is informed that I was in the show room, he comes out of his office in an aggressive manner and walks up to me and stated Can I Help You. "As if I were a stranger" I start to show him the invoice from the other shop and without looking at it he declares "I Know For A Fact The Oil Was Changed here". I just stop trying to explain due to this mindless behaver, It is very clear, this person is incapable and will never be able to rebuild any type of trust or respect with me, so I walked out. read more
