The guy that ran, the service desk was really nice and very friendly. The reason why I'm giving it a three is because of the pricing anybody else to plug a nail hole or patch a tire near runs about 25 hours they literally charge me $49.15 to patch my tire. I wish I had my car to go to a different facility but they were the only ones that was open at 7:30 in the morning everybody else opened at like nine which I think is ridiculous but that's just me early. Overall had an awful customer service experience over the phone today. I wanted to call around for quotes an issue related to my check engine light that I thought was isolated to both camshafts being overtuned after reading the engine code but a shop said that I would also need a complete tune up, oil change, fluid flush, and engine remounting. I called two times, the first time, the CSR Tamika hung up after asking me for an 8 digit VIN after I tried reading the one from my car title to her. When I called back the second time, she tried to press me to set up an appointment and I tried to explain that because of the timing issue the car doesn't start after which she suggested getting a jump or looking at the battery. I tried to explain that the electronics were working but the car wouldn't crank or make any sound when you turn the key in the ignition and she put me on hold before hanging up again. Since this location is close to home, I normally frequent for car maintenance needs but I might start taking my business elsewhere. read more

I really should've done this sooner but honestly today was the last straw and other tire choices around the area share the same opinion as me too. This place is as lazy as they comes. They truly do not care about their customers or their work whatsoever. When you say you have availability for alignment and then call 5 minutes later saying you don't do alignments on Sunday it leads to a lot of frustration. Furthermore the last time I actually did get an alignment here my boot twisted not even 5 miles down the road and my control and my lower ball joint blew up. These were all brand new parts that were professionally installed beforehand which leads me to believe that this shop is the reasoning for that happening. This all happened a day before I was set to go on a cross country road trip as well so my frustration was insurmountable. Throw your money away or take it to another shop because these techs truly do not care. I've had nothing but bad experience with them. Even the front desk is rude and condescending. i asked them to replace my fan for the radiator as my car was overheating due to it not spinning and an oil change. after waiting on a call for hours i called and they said they didn't have the tool to read the codes on the car so they couldn't replace the fan?? but they did the oil change. now why would you do an oil change on a car that's overheating. going to ruin the new oil. THEN i drive to Advance Auto parts on tidewater and they plug in and do the codes with no issue and guess what? no code for the fan, which means it just needs to be replaced, LIKE I SAID?. how are yall a repair place and can't read codes on a '97 but an auto parts store can? read more

I have been a tire choice customer for at least five years. They provided quality service and quality customer service. Recently, I went in for tire trouble. Very helpful, reasonably priced for what I needed. Due to other issues, I needed to return for a 2nd tire and a State Inspection. Two issues occurred that sealed that I will not return- 1. Guy at the counter (nice guy,very helpful) said they were under new management- "Yeah, they came in, fired everybody that was here and brought us in." Sounds a little DOGE to me. 2. My state inspection was done. I expected it to fail, just didn't know what it would be. I have a hole in my back tail light cover. No Problem!!! "We can't get it in until Wednesday". No PROBLEM!!! "The part will be $693.00." Well that's a problem. Even bigger is when I was told, "We are told that we HAVE to mark up the price." THATS A PROBLEM. This part is $92. That's marked up. This company is terrible. I am so disappointed and saddened that a business I trusted, loyal to, and felt confident in taking care of my car is directing new employees to knowingly hike up prices 600% to gain a profit. We are all struggling. You are awful. It may not make a difference to you, but I will not return. Shame on you. read more

I took my 2019 Dodge Journey to Tire Choice because I heard a minor squeak noise coming from the front tire. I asked the manager to examine this problem for me. He told me nothing was wrong with the breaks; however, it's possible that new rotors and break pads could fix the squeak noise. I told him to go ahead and install new rotors and break pads. I then noticed that the sound had gotten alot worse. Not only did it squeak but now I hear a loud rough scraping noise. He recommend that we change the rotors and pads on the back now. I said okay let's do it. Now my car sounds extremely bad. Much worse than it ever sounded. I took my car to tire choice for a minor noise problem. Now I have an extreme greater problem. I paid over $1000 dollars just for my car to be in a much worse condition. This is very disappointing and unacceptable. read more

First of all, if you come to 1117 East Little Creek Road in Norfolk looking for Tread Quarters you won't find it. The name has changed to Tire Choice Auto Service Center. I submitted this change to Yelp but they weren't inclined to make the change on the page. I came here for a state inspection on my truck when my usual spot changed their policy and wanted me to make an appointment. There were no appointments available for another four days, is that any way to treat a customer who has spent many thousands of dollars at your business over the past dozen years or so? I think not, bye bye. I decided to follow a former manager from the aforementioned garage that has always been fair and honest with me and gone the extra mile on my behalf many times. I called Tire Choice a little before closing time and was informed they could take care of me the following morning. I arrived a little before opening time at 8 AM. I was impressed with the size of this location, it's more than double the size of where I used to take my vehicles. They have seven service bays and two certified mechanics to perform state inspections. James and Eric (the managers) took great care of me. These men work great together and are very friendly and engaging while maintaining the proper degree of professionalism. The other employees I encountered were all very friendly, everyone really made me feel valued. There were a few inspections ahead of me but I was still in and out in about 45 minutes which is probably the fastest state inspection I've ever had. Bonus, they didn't try to upsell me on a bunch of additional repairs or service. Fast, friendly and honest. Thank you, Tire Choice. I look forward to returning whenever my truck needs service. read more

Quick and affordable service but a few old dog mechanic tricks were pulled while I had the tires on my jeep replaced. Pros- friendly staff, timely service, attention to detail called to ask if I wanted white letter in or out Cons- was charged to replace valve stems so I marked one with a paint pen just to check their honesty, unfortunately when I got it back it still had the yellow mark I put on it. Only 8$ so I'm not sweating it but just be mindful. Pro/con- I had a center cap siliconed on because it was too small for my wheels the returned it to me when I picked up my keys then when I got home I noticed they had popped on a Dodge Ram center cap to fill the hole good thing or a bad thing depending how you look at it All in all I'd do business again and just deny the valve stem replacement! read more

This review cross posted on both locations as all issues are intertwined and pertain to both. You know those companies that make you feel physically ill to deal with? That's how I feel with Tire Choice. Is that dramatic? Absolutely. But dealing with this company over the last few months has been one of the most stressful situations of this year, which says a lot as someone solo parenting an infant while dad is on deployment. Over the course of the last few months, I've had numerous interactions with the locations on Monticello and also on Little Creek. While I understand they are separate locations, I've had the exact same issues multiple times with each location. Several times we called and made appointments with someone over the phone, only to show up and be told they don't have the appointment in the system. Several times I've attempted to make an online appointment only to never receive any response either confirming or denying the appointment. The time we were able to get the front tires replaced, the appointment was "made", and nothing was in the system. My dad had to wait for hours for the service to be done. This is often to be expected, but almost an hour of that was him waiting for the employee at the desk to check him out after the car was FINISHED, while the employee was in no hurry to do much of anything. Most recently I've been trying to get in to get my back tires replaced due to nails. I've had multiple go betweens with both locations, an appointment "made" only to again show up with no appointment in the system, incredibly unhelpful and at times condescending employees. The only reason I have even been dealing with them is because I called to confirm if some tires replaced a few years ago had the coverage which makes replacements discounted based on how used the Tire is. The employee told me I did. Upon calling the other location to confirm the appointment before going all the way there a second time, they told me they don't have all the same information in the system and he'd have to call to check with the other store, and then told me I didn't even have that coverage, and that they didn't have the tires I needed (why would you not confirm that before making an appointment for someone???). You can bet I'll be going just about anywhere else, and hoping my front tires, which do have the coverage, hang in there so I don't ever have to return to this awful shop. I have minimal expectations for car repair... I typically expect things are going to take a while and I don't expect PHENOMENAL customer service, but this place falls so far short of that it's all I can to to hopefully save one other person the trouble of dealing with them. read more

I wish I could give a half-star. I had an appt for 10am for oil change and air filter. I was told 45 mins. I finally got my car back after 3.25 hours!! No apologies. Very expensive (even for diesel). I paid $150 and had to wait another 15 mins until the tech figured out how to reset the oil gauge. Never returning. read more

My husband took his truck here to get the heat fixed. After he paid, he discovered that it still did not work so he took it back. The second time they said they could not fix it. What the heck? Eric took care of me from start to finish. I called to get pricing on tires & they swapped out my slow leaking tire for my spare for free. They spotted a crack in my wheel & offered multiple solutions as well as letting me know that local rim repair shops may weld it for me. They also pointed out that one of my other wheels was not balanced because of it being dented, too. These VA roads are wrecking my wallet!! New tires with warranty is more than I wanted to spend, but I now drive for a living & you gotta keep the wheels & tires sharp to get where you need to go safely & in style! All in all I wasn't pleased with the amount of time or money I spent here, but they kept things on the up & up with me about what I needed to spend money on. Beware!!!! Anywhere BUT tire choice. I bought 4 of their "best" tires 11 months ago. I have been driving for 45 years & I have never had so many flat tires, constantly flat!! I keep going back for replacements 6 total replacement tires so far Now this morning ANOTHER flat!!!! I have spoken to others who bought their tires & was told they sell dry rotted tires to unsuspecting buyers. They are rude & can't give any explanation why this keeps happening. AND they always have to be replaced, not once could it be plugged. These tires literally fall apart!! read more

I brought my Honda Civic si for a wheel alignment, 3 hrs later they said my car was ready for pick up and I paid the 120$ ish. I immediately looked at it and knew my front right wheel wasn't aligned properly but proceeded to drive it to make sure. I brought it back and told them my wheel alignment is incorrect and my vehicle is still pulling to the right, so they took it back and 3 hrs later they told me to come back and said they couldn't do it and gave me a refund. I went to Firestone Complete Auto care and they told me 2 hrs later what was actually wrong with my car which was the front right strut was bent and only cost 10$ for an inspection. During my lunch break, I find a nail in my tire, unfortunately, so I typed in the closest tread-quarters in my area. I was confused when I arrived that it wasn't a tread quarters but named Tire Choice. So just beware, if you type 1117 E Little Creek Rd, it is Tire Choice, not a tread-quarters. I got there at 1130; someone greeted me upon entering. I explained to the man I needed my tire patched. He said they were very behind and they would not be able to get to my car until around 4 pm that day. I said okay as I didn't have a choice and called for someone to pick me up. The good news-bad news situation was that they said they couldn't patch the tire because of where the nail was located, so I needed a new tire. They had the tire in stock that my car had on the other three wheels, & it only took them about 30 minutes to change the tire. So I was out and back in my vehicle by 1230. The tire cost $179, and after the service fee, I paid $276. The tire includes lifetime coverage. Not the cheap patch I was hoping for, but it was quick service and done correctly. The business just needs to update their business name information online as it can possibly confuse people where they are going. read more

The customer service is awful, and they use to be concerned about the customer now it is just the bottom line and they have zero respect for calling the customer if you want to know the status of your vehicle you better call them several times... And never expect to get a straight answer.... The workmanship is horrible now also the use to show you the finished product and be proud of there work now 80% of the time you pay before they even bring your car off the rack...I do not recommend this place at all...there are several other places in the area that are better and more professional read more

I get free inspections from my dealership, but I need it done ASAP and the dealership had a long wait. Tread Quarters caught my attention with their numerous advertisements stating they offer free tire rotation. I decided to visit this location. The employee at the desk was impolite, but I'm not one to be bothered easily by that so long as I receive the services I came for. They took my car in to perform the inspection and rotation. As I waited, I was offered tires that were totally overpriced vs retailers like Costco and Walmart, and declined them. When the service was completed, I was called to the register where I was charged for the "free rotation." Immediately after I questioned this, the employee at the desk became frustrated and repeatedly stated that the service is free only with tread quarters purchased tires. As you might guess, there is NO mention of that "policy" ANYWHERE on the coupons, websites, and signs. I pointed this out, and received the same repeat answer. The employee suggested speaking to the manager after our exchange. The manager wordlessly came over and removed the charge; no apology, no explanation. Their behavior strongly suggested to me that this is a regular argument at Tread Quarters. As an aside, I have been to Tread Quarters in the past at another location, and they had no record of me. How would they even know whether or not I purchased my tires there? read more

Used to be a great place...we recommended them to everyone. Now... not so much. Took the car in for two tires, oil change, and inspection. The tires were quoted as DOUBLE the price shown online....no more "out the door, honest quotes". According to the desk gentleman, they lost too much money that way. So now you have to eliminate everything per line item. Annoying. Then they failed the car for inspection because the amber lights were no longer amber enough, not out, just not amber enough. They fade over time we were told (one side is 2 weeks old) and they wanted $21 a light to change the bulb. Buyer beware. Guess we will find a new inspection station. read more

Taken my truck for a front end alinement. The technician said he couldn't get the right cam bolts loose. I had the low control arm (right side) replaced the day before and cam bolts also replaced. So, I gave the shop the benefit that, maybe the cam bolts were jammed for some reason. I took the truck back to the shop that replaces the control arm to double-check their work. They lifted the truck and sent me a video of the cam bolts moving freely. They think the technician at Tire Chose was trying to loosen the wrong bolt. So, I am having second thoughts about having them service any of my vehicles. read more

The price for the two of them was decent so I said sure, do whatever it is that you say I need done to my car. I was helped by a few of the staff members and they were each friendly. Took my car in to get coolant flushed the man told me as soon as I turned your car on it started overheating how convenient for them I told them the light wasn't on when I was driving. I told them just do the coolant flush took 3 hours when I go to pay I notice my car is running which I find strange because usually they park and bring you the keys well I get in the car and my light is on saying my car is overheating I drive down the street knowing that I will be taking it to my mechanic in the morning I just want to get home now I pull over turn my car off and then go to turn it back on of course now it doesn't start at all I have to get a jump I don't know what tread quarters did to my car because it was working fine when I brought it to them. They were willing to stay a little past closing to make sure my car was ready for me to drive before I drove across the state for military training. Besides an obvious mark up on parts (they quoted $129.99, I purchased same brand part for $95 down the street) they tried to tell me, during a state inspection, that "my turn signals weren't yellow enough and I needed to pay them $38 to replace the bulbs". That's funny, because my car was just in an accident and the body shop replaced my whole front end, including my "not yellow enough turn signal bulbs". I would strongly suggest going elsewhere. Oh yeah, and one of the mechanics was very defensive and condescending when asked a legitimate question about his work. read more

I went in for a state inspection today. They had a few drop offs to take care of and one car in front of me. No Problem. But the fun (not) started after 10!! I was told the inspection failed along with a long list of things I should do. I understand that is the way they make money. But I failed for three bulbs and power steering fluid "top off" that they wanted over $110 (plus 16 for the inspection) for. One bulb was not the right type? The other bulbs were the front blinkers they said the amber coating had flacked off. I was told and shown a bulb that had part of the amber flaking off by the manager (remember that). I let them "fail my truck". Before I left the lot I had to go back inside and ask for my wheel lock socket back. I went home and pulled the "failed bulbs" out. The marker light that they said was the wrong type was just as bright as the one on the other side. The turn signal bulbs were good also. One may have been a little less amber. Both of my head lights that included all the failed bulbs are less than a year old and passed inspection last year. I replaced all the bulbs that they said failed and went back for re-inspection. They could/would not tell me what was wrong with the bulbs that I replaced. The "manager" also agreed with me that he didn't understand why the bulbs failed inspection. So I already had to take a full day off from work for three bulbs that are good. Now I am on the way home and notice my inspection sticker doesn't look like the other cars I am passing. The sticker should have the month and the year. Mine had two month stickers. Again back to treadquaters!!! It took 20 minutes for the manager to have the problem corrected and give me my keys. But wait... it doesn't stop there. I had to ask for an updated inspection document because it has the sticker serial number on it. That took another 10 minutes. My take away from this today is that this treadquaters location will fail you on inspection that they cannot tell you why, forget to give you something back that belongs to you and give you the wrong sticker and the manager has no clue. Would not take my vehicle there for anything ever again. They recommended a part to be replaced and it has been a headache every since. Took my vehicle back several times because of the noise it was making after the work and they never fixed it. They kept coming up with other issues that needed fixing that they believed to be the issue and would cost several hundred dollars. Had my oil changed at the same time and believe it was not changed at all. Took it to another shop and they said my oil pan was leaking (which they showed me) bad and the seal needed replacing which tread quarters never told me. Took my vehicle in for a state inspection. They call and tell me everything passed, however the tires are at 2/32, which meant they will be needing replacing soon. Also will need an alignment. I asked them politely if this could wait till I received my income tax in a month and they were pushy and decided I'm getting a really good deal right now. Told them I just had to pay for a surgery for my wife this past week and they still insisted on me getting the tires. Came in and paid. They explained the optional road hazard coverage that I paid for even though I didn't ask for it. I used to get quality service here, now I'll only come back if something happens to these tires since they're under warranty. Only getting two stars because the service was quick.
