Have had some bad experiences at this location in the past with prior management, but gave them another try when we needed to price tires. Price matched no problem, tires ordered and installed within a couple of days. Overall noticed that things seemed much more efficient and the atmosphere was MUCH friendlier since our last visit over a year or two before. The current manager, Scott, has a genuine interest in making sure the customer leaves happy. The vibe now is more like a business that wants to be part of the community. Been back for routine services and Scott knows us by name and you don't feel like you're just a name on an invoice. Have seen other customers walk away just as happy. What a pleasant surprise to find a business we had written off to come back strong and actually earn our business. Replaced 4 tires at this location in 2022 with brand new tires. Promised a lifetime warranty. Didn't have an issue with any of the tires. Fast forward, 3 years later; one tire starts losing air. I check it before taking it in to the same location, and it looks like there's a plug in the tire. This location says bring it in at 3pm, they have an opening to get it done. It takes them 2 and a half hours to tell me that your tire has a blown plug and needs to be replaced, that they can't patch it. Then tells me I'm not protected under a warranty and starts listing new tire prices an hour before they close. And get that expressed warranty in writing; I heard them in the two and a half hours waiting give the same expressed warranty to many others. This location does not know what they are doing regarding servicing a vehicle. My truck was continually recommended the wrong advice regarding a simple miss-fire. I brought it in for a diagnostic because my usual mechanic was booked 2 weeks out. After spending $500 on the wrong problem which they were quite sure of the issue persisted and they recommended a different solution unconfidently which would cost upwards of $1k. I declined and after getting it into my usual mechanic within 10 minutes he diagnosed and fixed the very simple and obvious problem to him. After doing that he fixed the sloppy $500 job done previously by tire kingdom as well all free of charge. I dropped my car off for a new full set of tires, they did a great job on that. unfortunately when I received the car I noticed that two center caps were missing and a mismatched lug nut on one tire. For a place that calls themselves Tire Kingdom, they need to learn how to change some tires quite a bit faster. Tires were delivered over a week ago went in without an appt to get them changed and they said it would take 2 hours. So instead I made an appointment 3 days ago for 10am, car dropped off and its now 1:15 and they just finished. 3.25 hours to replace 4 tires, WOW. Why even bother with an appointment? They say they only have 2 ppl working, then in that case you shouldn't book so many appointments! Entire morning and lunch blown since I was 'stuck' without a car for over 3 hours when it should take less than an hour to replace tires. Stay away! Wanted to give these guys a shot since we've had bad experiences at the TiresPlus around the corner, but maybe we need to get out of PV to get decent and faster service. UPDATE: Picked up the car and now my tire pressure system is telling me that one of the tires is under inflated so besides waiting there almost 3 1/2 hours for a Basic tire change they can't even do that right! Now I have to stop at a gas station to correct the pressure of my tires wasting another 10 minutes (wouldn't even think about going back there, it'll probably take them 45 minutes to inflate my tire!) I have a nail in my front tire, and dropped off my vehicle to have the tire repaired. My tires are 2 years old with less than 5,000 miles on them. I received a call from Tire Kingdom stating that they could not repair the tire because the "treads are terrible and the tires look like they are going to fall apart. " When I picked up my vehicle, I was told that I needed two new tires and new brakes immediately, for almost $700. This is a scam and POOR business practice. Another disgusting story to alert the good folks of Ponte Vedra! This company has a very bad reputation of scamming and up selling people, especially women! My sister had a nail in her tire. She brought it to Tire Kingdom since it is close by. She left the car thinking it would be fixed upon her return. Well....not only was she told that all four tires needed to be replaced, but they also added that she needed to have the brakes repaired as well. These tires are less than two years old, and she drives locally. Our neighbor was able to remove the nail and plug the tire, but he also took it to a local auto body repair shop that confirmed that the brakes were not in dire need of needing to be replaced anytime soon. Now for the drum roll! Alberto, the manager actually had the audacity to call my sister and left her a berating message as to why the tire was not fixed. He was not on the premises but yet had the nerve to call her! What type of company does this? She tried to do the right thing by going to a company and asking for help. We are a close knit community and rely on our small businesses to help us, but I can assure you that this story has already gone viral on the NEXTDOOR app. There have been more than 20 comments left about what a disgusting, disappointing sham this place is. One person even commented that when he came to pick up his car, there were over 60 plus miles added on the odometer! When he confronted them, everyone remained silent and offered him a discount! She asked again & the response was a resounding yes. Upon arriving home... the washer fluid reservoir is bone dry, the water level for the cooling system is far below 1/2, meaning they didn't check it. This one is run by a bunch of young kids who have no sense of time, service or the customer. The guys up front play on their cell phones the whole time and hang out in the parking lot with their friends. I think 1 Star is being generous for this issue! I stopped in a couple of weeks ago bc I have a nail in one of my Jeep tires, pretty sure it just needs a patch. I waited for someone to come up to help me, and I kept waiting. After 10 mins with no one from the store coming up to the front I left. I came back the next day and was told I needed an appointment. So I made an appointment for the following day. Again I show up and waited for a few minutes before someone came out front. I told them what was wrong and I'd just leave the Jeep and come back in a couple of hours. I went to an appointment a few doors down came back 2 hours later and was told they hadn't been able to get to my Jeep and that I needed an appointment! What? I had an appointment. They told me they were backed up and couldn't get to my car that day. I made another appointment to bring it back a few days later. So I brought it in again and dropped it off at 8:30 am, they had the Jeep all day, I called at 5 pm to see if it was ready when they told me they couldn't find the tire lock key! Um?! What?! You couldn't have called me to let me know? So I go back the next day and pick up the Jeep bc obviously it is not going to get repaired at this tire kingdom! When I pick it up, I drove around to the back (I didn't even want to talk to anyone that works there) and there was my Jeep with the keys in the door on the outside. Glad it wasn't stolen. I tried 4 times to get the tire patched but to no avail. I gave them many chances bc I had just purchased all 4 new tires from them a month prior, and the service was good. I stopped by Tire Kingdom on Wed. at about 4:30 to have my tires checked, 1 was wearing wrong as if the car was out of alignment. I also wanted to know if I needed tires. The service person came out and immediately pointed out how the tires (all) had bumps on them indicating that it was the suspension (shocks and struts) as well as new tires but he would have the technician check it out. Sure enough, I needed shocks and struts and new tires. Since it was late in the afternoon, he was going to let me know what the estimate would be. (I'm guessing a few thousand $'s) I took my car to Elite Auto Service in St Augustine since we have used them for years, and had them check it out. NOPE, don't need shocks and struts but do need tires. I won't be going back there for anything nor can I recommend Tire Kingdom to anyone. read more

Beware of this place, they like to take advantage of elderly women and those who don't know any better. If you are unaware of what you are getting they will upsell you crap you don't need. Came in for a sluggish/slow start symptom, just needed a new battery. Came out with coolant flush, brake flush, tire alignment, engine diagnostics, fuel tune up, and you guessed it a new battery. Called manager he said it was throwing a code for "thermostat" Thermostats can not throw codes but they can be suspected from a temp sensor showing it stuck closed causing overheating or stuck open causing the engine to become slow to heat up during start to operating temp for the engine to go into closed loop operation. It would show an engine DTC p0128 "thermostat" code. Another DTC code would be P2185 that deals with the temp sensor circuit in general that can be cause by weak battery do to weak sensor voltage "bad sensor or battery" code. A weak battery can throw both p0128 and p02185 codes. So which is it? On the invoice there is no charge for any parts such as a thermostat or a malfunctioning temp sensor, only the flush that wasn't needed. Engine diagnostics on invoice did not show any DTC listed, just that it was performed. A bad battery could cause both of these codes because sensors require voltage to operate correctly. So with the they symptoms described and the lack of parts they replaced shows me they tried to diagnose the vehicle with a bad battery. Either they did this on purpose to charge people who would not know any better or they need to be retrained for improper troubleshooting. If the coolant was old and dirty did they do a coolant test with a test strip? I doubt it, the pH level of the coolant still would not throw those codes. The only culprit is a Thermostat that was not replaced, a bad temp sensor that was not replaced, or a weak/bad battery that they replaced. Ifbit was a "thermostat" code why is the part not on the invoice? If you found it in your heart to not charge her for the thermostat please give me the brand and part # so I can verify the job. So they are just making up excuses for flush services. Also a dead battery needs to be justified with a battery load test print out, it was not provided with the invoice. How do they know the battery was bad? Did they try to recharge it? I doubt it. I wonder if you guys even tested the alternator to see if that's why the battery had a low charge, once again I doubt it. Honda maintenance guide does not show any recommended fuel services but they did a fuel tune up on a 2015 vehicle anyways. What does it have to do with sluggish a start unless it was due to a weak battery that makes the fuel pump weak? I will be inspecting if the brake flush was done but it was also not needed. Wheel alignment...really? I'm surprised you guys didn't try to sell her a cabin air filter. Long story short this place will rip you off. The only service performed that was justified was a battery R&R, and you are lying through your teeth to justify an engine diagnosis and coolant flush. What they thought was a $200 battery service turned into almost $800 of shady bullshit. I am a mechanic with over 10 years experience in gas/diesel and these people give mechanics/technicians a bad name. I am writing this for a friend because their English is not well, that's probably why they were targeted to get screwed. I can guarantee you they wouldn't try to pull this shit on me. Stay away from this business!!! Took our daughter's car there on Monday, August 13, 2018. On Sunday, August 19, her car broke down in Gainesville. Had it towed to an independent mechanic who told her she had NO oil in her car. Tire Kingdom had it towed to their shop in Gainesville and low and behold, after having the car for 10 days, accepted no responsibility. We had NEVER had an issue with this car until they worked on it. Now their insurance company is trying to pass the buck. Thankfully the independent mechanic is willing to go to bat (or court, as the case may be) to testify that they messed up. Stay away from these crooks and liars. Worst service ever.
