He asked co-worker Fernando to drop the tires at Discount tire in Sparks after work before they closed. I got a tow to Discount tires and the tires were there waiting for me. With the COVID-19, decided to take advantage of online purchases. I was waiting for winter to wrap my chrome rims with new tires, but asked my son to find me a good deal for 265x45x17s. He found a set of four BFGoodrich - g-Force Sport COMP-2. They are rated highly in acceleration, traction, braking efficiency, and grip in wet and dry conditions. Nice and sticky however, wear well. Had them delivered to the Oakland Coliseum Lexus for install. With the online purchase of tires and service/fees with the dealership, the price was less than Costco. Delivery was in 5 days. I ordered some rims as a surprise to my wife. Ordered on 23jun and requested pick up at the distribution center in Reno which made the rims available for pick up on 25Jun instead of scheduled delivery on 29Jun. After the order was placed I received an email confirmation and about 5 minutes later a call from a 800 number which I didn't answer as I thought it was spam. Well it was a tire rack rep telling me my rims would be available for pick up tomorrow !! 24Jun. Yay !!! Not. 24jun came and I called to check if they were ready and available for pick up... nope... they will be available on the 29Jun... but but but... I have a messages saying that... 29Jun. 29Jun came and went. Rims were not here. Called to check on it once again, apparently only one rim showed up. How is this possible? I said... COVID was their response... we have been dealing with Covid for 2 years now, we should be able to know when a shipment goes out or not. Fine. 30Jun, the rims finally arrived. Went to pick up and the service at the distribution center was very good. Short wait in the parking lot after calling the number and letting them know my order number and giving them time to get the order ready. The person who brought the rims out was very helpful, helped me check the rims and load them into the truck. The whole situation was annoying due to the fact I had to make arrangements to get the rims installed and changed those arrangements multiple times, specially since I was doing all this without my wife knowing so I had to make sure I was able to "steal" her suv in order to get the rims installed. Tire rack rocks but the little hiccup with the shipment took a little hit on their 5 stars. I definitely recommend tire rack for any tire and rims needs, just give yourself a little window to allow for delivery mishaps. read more

Called in on wednesday, Got a price quote, placed the order, tires arrived this morning (Friday about 9:30 am), Pulled the AV Chevrolet installed these monsterly fitting wheels 18X8.5's off and installed the OEM recommended, Ride is now perfect, handles well, I think they look better than the 18 which did not fit under the car and scraped on every bump. Now riding on 16x6.5's 245/50ZR-16 RIKEN RAPTOR ZR A/S SL. Went to purchase tire and wheels from Americas Tire waited a week for them to come in and they were still the wrong wheels for the car, there answer was to use a 17X8 which would nave still rubbed, the reason for new wheels get rid of the rub. The Tires and Wheels from Tire Rack fit purfect which I give credit to the selection process software. worked perfectly. Very Glead with me decision. read more

I ordered rims because they offered next day delivery. Tracking said they would be here by 2pm the next day. We then got a delay notice because of weather. It's 50 degrees and there are no road restrictions. I called and asked if I could pick them up. They said no but the would probably be here next week! Super lame. they admitted to being a week behind but still let you place "next day" deliveries. I will never use them again. We drove out to tire rack because we couldn't get the tires in town at the first place we went and thought we could save a little money. We placed our order, waited an hour, then drove out to USA Pkwy thinking that was plenty of time for it to get processed. We then proceeded to wait 40 min for tires while 3 other people that came after us got tires. We actually missed half of our daughters basketball game due to the wait which we had only calculated being 15-20 min on a bad day. I think the only reason we got the tire at 40 min is that we complained and said we were going to leave. The kicker, when I looked over my receipt afterwards from the last time I had my tires replaced it wasn't even any cheaper at tire rack. So for the drive out there, and the ridiculous wait I will not be going there again for tires in the future. read more

First off, the map and address are wrong. The address appears to be Summit Racing. And now my review: I will not be returning to this place anytime soon. I waited nearly 40 minutes for them to get my 1 can of brake fluid out which I ordered over an hour earlier over the phone. It appeared I arrived to pick it up right at their lunch time. But if that was the case, then they should just close for lunch so an unsuspecting customer does not have to wait for someone to return from lunch to retrieve their order. What a disappointment after the good reviews that I have read. 25 minutes out, 40 min wait and 25 min back, plus gas is not worth saving a few bucks from ordering it elsewhere online. I have heard about this place. I have even ordered from here before. I have never been to the actual location before this though. It is HUGE! Out in the middle of nowhere it seems in the warehouse district or what ever it is called. The staff was very friendly. Warm greetings and offers of beverages. They knew exactly what they were doing and did it well. Most people order from here online and that is what they mostly cater to tirerack.com They have the best prices I have seen and there is not much more you could ask for. We came here after a HUGE let down by Big O. I think what really topped it all was as we were leaving with our badly needed tire, there they were (Big O Tires) picking up a load of tire too! I called about 10 different tire centers looking for Michelin Pilot Sport 4s All Season Tires 245/35/19 for my Subaru WRX STI, they all life saver, i kid you not, i cannot believe how lucky i feel after having my sidewall blow out due to someone chains being throw away on the freeway. If I could give 0 stars I would! My order was completely screwed up not once but 4 times. The tires and wheels were shipped and had to be returned to Tire Rack as services ordered weren't performed. Upon receipt of the returned order, the order was cancelled by Tire Rack. Second order is placed and finally receive the tires. Bring them in to be mounted and one of the rims bolt pattern was drilled off center. Off comes the 3 tires already placed and back on go my original tires. Customer service argues with me about the offset drill. Finally reach a competent rep who informs the rims are no longer available so 4 more are ordered. I call in to speak to a supervisor and another customer service rep argues with me, had to ask for a supervisor 4 times. When she finally gets on the phone she informs me they will credit my order $50 and is unconcerned at the Yelp Review. So much for giving them the chance to make it right before I give them a bad review. read more

Ordered 4 tires through Tire Rack. They were shipped via OnTrac. Tire Rack customer service CLAIMS a customer can use a different shipper, but there are NO OPTIONS for shipper choice on their website. After OnTrac failed to deliver after having the tires 5 days, I sent my son to their warehouse to pick them up. 1 1/2 hour drive away!! They had him drive into their warehouse to a pile of 4 tires. He could tell these were not his tires, verifying that by checking the tracking numbers on his copy of the paperwork. Don't OnTrac's employees check tracking numbers? Apparently NOT because the employee proceeded to check their entire warehouse and couldn't find the tires (how do you lose 4 tires?). Then they had my son go to the front desk to fill out paperwork for the LOST tires. While my son is filling out the paperwork, a man comes in complaining that he had been given the WRONG TIRES. After the OnTrac employee brings them in from his car, they discover that they were my son's tires. 1. I suggest, if you have a choice, NEVER use OnTrac. 2. I also suggest you DO NOT buy from companies that use OnTrac as their ONLY shipping option. Unless I am blind, I CAN NOT find ANY options to choose a different shipper on the Tire Rack website! 3. If enough people complained to the companies that are using OnTrac, perhaps those companies will either stop using them or will offer other shipping options. Tire Rack has the BEST website with a wealth of information and videos on virtually every tire for sale. Their prices are usually very good. Normally they would warrant a 5 star review. But to FORCE customers to have their tires delivered by a company that has 1 star overall reviews on both Google and Yelp, and a horrible BBB rating is a great disservice to them. Tire Rack should STOP using OnTrac. read more

Somewhat apprehensive of online tire purchasing, but decided to give it a shot as I just couldn't take Discount Tire's continuing refusal to even consider repairing a puncture. I don't need a "brick and mortar" retailer if all you do is install tires. Went looking for other options such as Costco, Walmart, other tire shops. Had heard of Tire Rack previously, so checked them out. Easy to order, shipping was ridiculously fast, recommended installer did a great job. Car is a 2008 BMW X5 4.8i with difficult to fit 275/20 wheels on the front and very difficult 315/20's on the rear. Recommended installer could handle it. This is e-commerce done right. I don't have a single suggestion for improvement. My Maserati Quatroporte will need new shoes this fall. I will be buying from Tire Rack. Did I mention I saved about $400? read more

I loved tire rack when they didn't have to collect sales tax LOL. That was the best, they had great prices and didn't have tax back in the day. Now they have great prices because they do have to add tax, so it makes it harder to justify, but i come back because they do their best to accomodate your car, and what they think fits. They will warn you what wont. I was going to order my rims and tires here, but they warned me the rims wouldn't fit, so i ended up getting them at another dealer that had the correct offset. They did sell me the tires and the audi tpms sensors, which worked like a charm, just hit the save button for the tpms sensors and it recalibrated to the new sensors i bought from tire rack. So it was awesome, Charlie, Jerry, Sonny, all were helpful in getting the stuff i wanted for my car. Audi RS5. Take a look. I have spent $$$$'s over the past 6 or 7 years at TireRack, primarily because I (used to) buy race tires, and every-other-year, snow tires for one of my subarus. Backorders are rare, but it's happened, and has been a lesson to me to plan ahead. Regardless, I've really appreciated the price, service, and convenience of having a TireRack warehouse near me. I typically gather the details of what I want to order from the website, then call the sales rep I've used for the past 4 years (Nate - ext. 688). TireRack's database maintains my history of purchases, along with the vehicles I purchase them for, so when I talk to Nate, he 'remembers' who I am and what I need. In late 2008 I did a price comparison between TireRack and BigO. Despite a number of discounts and concessions that BigO was offering me, they still could not meet the price from TireRack. Finally, Big Kudos to The TireRack for their continued sponsorship of SCCA's motorsports activities. It's really nice to be able to read reviews from hundreds of people online on tirerack.com to read about pros and cons of tires before actually making a purchase. One of the best secrets about using Tire Rack in the Reno area is that locals can avoid the shipping fee by calling the sales number on tirerack.com and having the warehouse 20 minutes east of Reno hold your tires for pickup. The warehouse is located at 3300 Waltham Way, Sparks, NV. My experience with Tire Rack was incredibly quick and professional. I reserved the tires over the phone which took ~5 minutes. After driving to the warehouse later that day, I went to the front desk and paid for the tires which took 30 seconds. The lady at the front desk instructed me to pull my car up around the side of the warehouse to have my tires loaded into my trunk. 5-10 minutes later a man came out from the garage and gave me the tires. Overall I was in and out in under 10 minutes. P.S. For those who don't know, Tire Rack is a tire distributor and does NOT install tires; they recommend tire installers in the area and can ship tires to them, but you should know this ahead of time and schedule your Tire Rack order in conjunction with a tire installer appointment. read more

Walmart might have slightly better prices but more junky looking brands, and discount tire was a close second. Les Schwab has good service, but their brand names and prices are off. Tirerack is a great place for odd-sized tires and very competitively priced. Our car takes a 195/55-16 sized tire which Les Schwab, Discount Tire, Big O, et al never carry. Since discovering TireRack.com, we have done all our tire shopping there. We are able to choose our odd-sized tires from a broad selection of manufacturers. Problem resolution is acceptable: A couple of years ago, we had ordered a set of tires online, and one of the four tires that was delivered by UPS was the wrong size. We did have to drive up to Sparks to the warehouse to exchange the tire for the proper size, but we were satisfied with the resolution. They are no longer located in Sparks; they have a brand-new, ginormous warehouse out east in Wadsworth off of I-80. We could have UPS deliver the tires, but we still take that heck of a drive to the warehouse, as it's worth it to get the right tires at the right price and have them installed by our local mechanic the same day. read more

I bought four tires from this place and the miscommunication after that point on was horrible. First the delivery was wrong on all four tires, then they updated it for two tires and it was again wrong, then the tracking information said they tried to deliver the tires during normal business but it was closed, and that was just plain false. (The business was wide open at the time they supposedly tried to deliver them). Then I contacted the folks at the tire rack and phone messages went unreturned so I called customer service who said they had nothing to do with the delivery end and that they had the same info I had. Not helpful. Then a week later I had a screw in the sidewall of one of the tires and called their warranty company (Sonsio management Inc.) which was equally not helpful. Not sure about this place. The first impression was not good at all. Yes I probably saved a few bucks using them but I'm not sure it's worth this aggravation. I'll go to Americas Tire next time. read more

I ran across the tirerack website and found it easy to navigate, not only could I find what kind of tires I needed, but I could browse user provided reviews of tires. Tire rack only sells you the tires, they don't mount and install them- but they have a list of tire installers with reviews for each of them. Once I decided on the tires, I phoned and ordered them, they were ready the next day, I drove to their warehouse (probably 20 minutes outside of Reno) and they put the tires in my car. I drove to the installer- he mounted and balanced them. I saved a bunch of money- they are far cheaper than anyone in town, including costco! read more

We have purchased thousands on high end wheels and tires for all our vehicles. We ran into a few issues in the past but were resolved efficiently. Online chat and any communication is average but, if you ever have to speak to a live person be warned. Megan, a customer service representative assured we have exercised out right to give our business to many other online tire retailers. I purchased a set of Pirelli tires for my BMW 5. Prices were amazing and shipping defaulted to about $75.00. This is a default shipping amount and the last time I ordered from them, you were able to choose method/carrier and price before checking out. Now the nightmare begins I got a confirmation from a company called Ontrac confirming my tires will be delivered the next day by 10:30 AM! I took the morning off from work and made an appointment at my local shop for installing. At 10:38 AM I noticed the update stated "Unable to deliver, no gate code - Deliver on next business day! " That is three days away! We do have a security gate in the complex I live in but access during normal business hours allows pretty much anyone to enter! Pushing "0" at the gate summons the rental office to open the gate for UPS, FedEx, Pizza guy etc.... This idiot driver never even attempted to enter. He saw the gate and drove off! Security cameras showed it. Don't use On Track delivery service! Check their online reviews, there is not one positive review - not one. Calls to their 800# goes answered or you are placed on hold. I kept my cell phone on hold until the battery died and no one ever picked up! Back to The Tirerack. Called representative and talked to Katrina. She basically scolded me and told me, I should have picked the method of delivery and entered a gate code during my order process. I apologized for my oversight not wanting to argue. I tried to place two sample orders online to make sure I didn't miss something and not one gave me any of the options she mentioned. I went on live chat with Preston, and he confirmed shipping on their site defaults to lease expensive. There were no such options on their site to pick shipping method. He said Katrina advised me of that in the notes. She did not. I politely asked him to review the recorded call and ask she be coached on not giving out the wrong information to customers. Now I'm back to Megan. Her tone from the beginning of the conversation was condescending and defensive at best. I tried to be as nice as possible and even told her I was not upset with her because I knew this was not her fault. (Working in customer service for 40 years I have developed a skill on how to talk to customers) I tried to explain my frustration and time wasted because of On Track. I asked if there was any way they could compensate me for the $75 shipping charge (or partial?) since the Ontrac did not even attempt to make the delivery, She told me she had no control over that! Really? Of course she doesn't but that is not the answer an already upset customer. She said "No, your tires will be delivered on Monday!" A simple gesture and acknowledgment was all I needed to hear to keep me as a customer. Instead she started scolding me too and kept cutting me off. I cancelled the order. I was so appalled she was willing to lose a good customer who has spent over Over $5,000.00 all these years because of a shipping charge. No service recovery attempt what so ever. Cable company representatives have far better recovery skills than this. We will sharing this on all our social media, including my Youtube, Facebook and all automotive forums. The following morning, I took off work, and I dropped my car off at the installers. I have used this company for years with no problem. My last experience I purchased new radial tires for my boat trailer and had them mounted by a Tire Rack recommended installer. Before I even trailered the boat I noticed one new tire had a blistered sidewall. I was traveling toward Reno so thought I would warranty the tire when I arrived. On the trip I had 2 blowouts with the new tires. When I turned in carcasses and the blistered tire Tire rack blamed the installer and refused warranty. The installer blamed defective tires. I ordered tires from them in a Friday, upon check out it indicated that the tires would arrive to me by Tuesday by 2:00 pm....one tire showed up in an unmarked van (passenger type) after 6:00 pm the other was held in the delivery companies warehouse. these tires were shipped from Nevada to Arizona, the excessive time is just lack of caring. The other is not yet received even now they are two days and two hours past delivery time. When I called to notify tire rack. They simply did not care. Will not order from them again. I've really liked the Hankook tires I've had on three of my cars, and I like Tire Rack even more now! Even though I had to order online because no one locally carried the size and style I wanted, they shipped to my local dealership who installed them. No one could touch their price, even with shipping. I was worried about how to file a road hazard claim if needed. I just had an non-repairable flat. Tire Rack simply asked me to take pictures of the tire, DOT#, etc. and order another. I did, and a check is already in the mail for the full retail price, plus shipping for the half used tire, even before the tire gets here. read more

I m an avid user of Tire rack they seem to beat all other tire prices around and will usually be right on top of there action which is good. They have extrreemly fast shipping and on average you can have your tires the next day (if on trac dosent deliver them to the wrong place) had that happen once. I checked Tire Rack prices on a set of Michelin's for my 2013 BMW. My installer told me that he can order the tires and offer them at the same price, and that their sales rep would expedite the shipment. What I come to find out is, as a consumer, I get a free Road Hazard Warranty included in the price, whereas if I buy it through a Tire Rack installer, the road hazard warranty is not included, and the price is the same. This makes no sense, but it was verified by Tire Rack Customer Service this morning. So, customers be aware, that the best option is to buy the tires yourself, and not through a listed TR service shop. So now I have to go out there and buy a Road Hazard Warranty at an extra cost for $147.00. All of a sudden, the price is now the same as Americas Tire! I love this place, but stuff like this needs to be addressed, so consumers are aware of pitfalls like this. read more

Only place I've bought tires for 12 or 15 years. Prices are OK, but the real attractions for me are the selection and the website, where you can read tire tests and user ratings and choose the features that are important to you. Tire shop employees don't have much real knowledge about what they sell--they may know materials and construction, but not whether, say, a Goodyear has better steering response than a Kumho. I live about 25 miles from the new warehouse, not as convenient as the old one in Sparks, but still pick up my tires there and save $10 or $12 per tire in shipping. By the time you add the cost of mounting and balancing, you probably pay about what you would anywhere, but you can get exactly what you want. read more
