One tire had one plug and the second had two! I believe this is excessive. Yes, I read the disclaimer but did not imagine I would have three...count them...three plugs. They believe this is ok. Sure they will let me return them, but its cost about half of what I paid for the tires! If I made a mistake and ordered the wrong tires, I would have paid for return. I did my research and felt confident ordering from Best Used Tires, so I was disappointed to find a needle sized hole in it after I filled it with air. I bought a used tire as I've already had seven thousand miles on my current tires, but still not near the time for a new tires. I felt confident after reading how each tire is inspected to qualify to resale. Tread was fine, match my current tires, but still a hole in the tire doesn't work. Don't bother wasting a minute of your day ordering for the first time unless you plan to ship the tires to the exact billing address on your card. Having moved recently and having my old address still linked to my credit card, they flat-out refused to ship for a first-time customer unless it was going to the billing address. The customer service supervisor's "solution" to this was to, get this, ask me to send him a picture of my drivers license. The alleged supervisor was requesting for me to send a picture of my own personal identification in an unsecured email as some sort of verification that I wasn't using a stolen credit card number. The supervisor seemed eager to get me off the phone when I told him that I was not doing this, or creating a PayPal account that I don't want, and that they would lose the sale otherwise. This was an absolutely PUTRID customer service experience and I still haven't wrapped my head around an online merchant requesting that I email them a picture of my drivers license, in 2018. I have never heard of a more obtuse policy in my entire life. I have a few acquaintances who own/run garages and auto body shops that I will be sure to mention this experience to and encourage them to never even consider using this website. Sadly I wish I could have gotten the experience that some of the others had gotten from this company. It seems like a great idea. But what I experienced seem like a mixture of poor communication and execution. I recently purchased a car that had one bald tire with metal showing so I needed one tire that was slightly worn to match the wear on the other front tire. The price was excellent, and from looking at the shipping map on the product page, I could see where I live in Connecticut is one-day shipping with the free shipping. I ordered an hour before noon which according to the website meant the order would get shipped that day which meant I should have the tire the next day. With the tire in the condition it is in, I am not driving the vehicle. But I could wait a day or even two if needed. I was notified in about an hour by email that my order had shipped and included a FedEx ground tracking number that showed that the shipping label had been created and that I should expect delivery by the end of the next day (Today). I checked the tracking page this morning, and there had been no updates. At the end of today, I checked again with no updates. I contacted support via the online chat and was informed that my order was not shipped yesterday, and that it did go out today and that I should expect Tuesday of next week (I had ordered it on a Wednesday). When I asked why it would take so long I was informed that Connecticut is a 3-day ship time. This is in conflict with both the shipping map on the business website and also what FedEx itself estimated. I asked why the difference in estimation of shipping times and was redirected to the self-help shipping page which doesn't list specific ship times, merely that "Average time of delivery, depending on your location in the 48 contiguous states, is between 1-6 business days". I live 180 miles from Allentown,PA. It's hard to imagine if it takes 3 days to get to me, what the distance required for 1-day shipping is. Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to wait another 5 days to get the tire, I will have to get a new tire tonight locally and will refuse the shipment whenever it shows up. I wasn't in a hurry this would not have been an issue, but I had no reason to doubt that they would not be able to deliver the order in a timely manner. But six days to deliver an order than initially had a one-day estimated delivery time is not timely. I bought a tire from Bestusedtires.com. It was supposed to be "inspected, safe, and guaranteed." Unfortunately it was none of those things. I wasn't able to get the tire mounted until months after the 90 day money back guarantee had expired. Once I finally had it mounted, I was very disappointed to find that the tire had multiple holes in it that were too large to patch. Even with multiple patches it still leaked air as fast as you could fill it. I called Bestusedtires.com to see if I could get a refund or get the tire exchanged. Okay, so this is my 2nd review of Bestusedtires.com. I made another purchase of 4 tires. My first experience was great. 4 takeoffs. Great price. Great tires. My second purchase was also 4 tires with 90 to 95 percent of the tread. They arrived, and basically looked brand new. Except 3 of the 4 had been patched. One of those 3 tires had 2 patches on it. So no panic yet. They supposedly air test when they get them and once again when they ship them. Patches looked professionally done and seemed to be in good shape. Except....within 48 hours of mounting them, one of the tires dropped almost 14 pounds of pressure. So now I've had to have a tire repaired. I'm cautiously optimistic that I haven't purchased some other persons problems. I suppose time will tell. I'm just disappointed that 3 of the 4 were patched tires and right out of the gate one of them leaked. One other point to make for those interested in buying used tires. They can be a great bargain as evidenced by my first purchase. Just be sure you have a place that will install them. More and more tire shops are adopting the policy of no used tires mounted. This was obviously very dangerous, even potentially deadly. The company only agreed to refund me for one tire. Of course I would not want to keep the remaining 3 tires knowing how dangerous they are. Got 4 tires and one of them was different. Sent them the picture of tires and asked to send the correct one. I noticed that the wrong tire had last 4 digit DOT number scraped off for some reason. I did some research with the remaining DOT numbers and found out the tire was recalled due to many problems. The worst part is that they will not be sending me the correct tire. Why? because they require full DOT number of the wrong tire. Scam. They get defective tires for nothing and will sell to suckers like me. I gave in to their advertised offer for a pair (2) Michelin Pilot Sport Ps2's in 305/30/19, with 6-8/32" tread. I bought them for around $300 with shipping, which was the best deal I could find online at the time. Heres the problem: First off, one tire was 4- 5/32" while the other was a solid 8/32". This is outside the car manufacturers specifications, as driving with this pair would damage the differential. Second problem: The tires were actually mismatched; one was marked "N1" (porsche spec) while the other was a plain PS2. I called to tell them about this (more on the phone call later), and was told they are identical. FALSE. Why would a company stamp a tire differently if it were identical? Well, Michelin makes tires for various car makes which means they are engineered for specific vehicles, although the carry the same name and model. Subtle differences, but differences none the less. VYC is oblivious to this information, which is readily available to the public. Shouldn't a tire vendor know about...TIRES? Last but not least: Regarding that phone call I made to explain the tire mismatch...well that phone call was originally to inquire about the return policy. I was out of town when the tires arrived, and by the time I came back I had realized I was outside the 30 day policy. With all tags and wrapping on them. Never mounted. I ask if theres a way to return. Nope. Can I swap for another tire? Nope. Anything you can do to help, like find another match? "well theres a lot of tires back here, it would take forever," was the response. Nice. This was the manager mind you, whom i asked to speak with after being denied by the rep. I was extremely put off by the entire experience, first not knowing about a tire such as the Michelin PS2, a very popular tire. Also the way the manager handled my situation was terrible. I understand return policies, but I also understand customer service (10 years in retail, 6 in management). No solutions offered. How about 10% off a replacement? How about you look for a better matching tire and sell it to me! Ironically enough, I can get 10% for writing this bad review, However spending $300 on a bad match of tires wont get you anywhere if you fall outside the 30 day window. There website product description was inaccurate. I order 4 tires from them for my Mercedes and 3 of the tires are the same brand, 1 tire is not. They said they'll exchange that 1 tire to match the other 3 but requested that I pay for shipping to and from. These are use tires and the cost of all the shipping charges is better off if I just buy a new tire in the first case. I believe they should of replace my 1 tire and cover the shipping cost not me paying for their mistake.
