Bought tires and other work for over $1100.00 at this location. One of the tires has a slow leak. I called to make arrangements for getting the leak fixed. First available appt was two weeks away. Rep said I could bring the car by first thing in the morning and expect to leave it all day. When I told him I couldn't leave the car all day, he informed me that was "just the way it is". Tires Plus is probably the worst place for service in the world (and this includes everyone I have been to). They sell tires but if you need a rotation, a flat repair... do not expect them to help you. I had a confirmed apt. for a rotation, I arrived at the proper time, they told me that they might have it done in three hours or so, but they would not guarantee a time before 4PM. Since I needed to wait for the work (which requires all of fifteen minutes, I was not leaving my vehicle for three to six hours. I was told that I could come back in two weeks. I mentioned that I was getting ready for a long trip, the clerk told me that if I don't rotate on a 5000 mi schedule, I void the warranty. The solution was to schedule with a competitor (Les Schwab) who did it the next day and for free. read more

Purchased snow tire in October, had less than 3,000 miles on tires. Damaged side wall so it could not be repaired. Store told me tire was unavailable and only option was to get a different size, which size is not recommended by Subaru. Called corporate and they found exact tire in Gardnerville. Gardnerville store replaced tire but were Rude and offensive. Will never buy from Tire's plus again. Highly recommend Les Schwab in Carson, top notch service. read more

We were off roading all day in our Jeep, 10 minutes before closing we needed a tire looked at so I called Tires Plus in Carson City off 50 and asked if someone was willing to stay and help us out. The manager accommodated is and waited til we got here 10 minutes AFTER closing on a Saturday night. Reseated our tire for us and we were on our way. (BTW the Tires Plus in Gardenerville turned us away 10 minutes BEFORE CLOSING). The guys here were super cool and very nice. You just don't get this kind of good customer service anymore. I needed 4 new tires for my van so I called around and found that Tires Plus had a quality tire at a good price. They offered to price match a set I found at Costco which made the drive from Tahoe seem worthwhile. When I arrived I was told it would take 1.5 hours which is about what I was expecting but it ended up taking 3 hours because they were super busy. It was really a bummer because I saw my van pull out of the shop because it was finished and the counter guy was so busy helping other customers and answering phones that it took me having to get in line and tell him I was done waiting for my car which had been finished for over 30 minutes at that point. The next morning it was cold out and the tire pressure sensor came on for all 4 tires. They were all at 37PSI. Even though the technician wrote on my paperwork he had set the fronts to 47 and rears to 70 I think he actually set them all to 40. My general impression of Tires Plus is that they are trying to be high volume but don't have the staff to support it and consequently quality and service are suffering. read more

I took my car in to have the tires replaced and a couple days later one of the tires lost pressure and went flat. They tried to pin it on me as if I was in the wrong when there was no damage to the tire. I took it to another shop and had them inspect it and they found a small crack on the rim making the seal not safe. This was an easy find to the naked eye. Not only did Tires Plus Carson City not spray down my tires for a seal check, they didn't even do a basic safety check on the wheels. Absolutely the worst to do business with. Clint is a liar and hasn't a clue how to own his mistakes. Chapter one--Car was dropped off at 830 am for new tires, alignment, oil change, and brakes. We called at 1030 am and was told approval was given by corporate account for the tires and oil change and it was agreed to by us to pay out of pocket for the alignment. We called at 1430 and was told by Clint that it was almost done and he would call when it was finished. We called at 1700 and was told they needed more time and to come at 1750 to pick it up. 1750 arrives and we get there and she drives her car away being told it was all taken care of. It was dusk and she was in a hurry because her ride doesn't drive after dark. Later that evening I looked at the new tires to discover NOTHING had been done. No tires. No oil change. No alignment. Nothing!!! Chapter two-- The next morning I am there with the vehicle a few minutes before seven and the sign was lit so i tried the door and it was locked. Clint was inside and it was obvious by his body language and his tone when he opened the door that I had upset him by attempting to open the door. I asked him to come look at the tires they had installed the day prior. His response was 'those aren't new tires.' I told him that is the fucking problem. Then the lies and bullshit talk started coming out of his mouth about how he didn't know and then corporate account refused and blah blah blah. Lie after lie after lie. Chapter three-- The tires get mounted and oil gets changed(thank you Humberto for the good work) and when i asked how much longer and if the alignment was done, Clint asked me how i was gonna pay for the alignment. This is after an hour before he said it was gonna be taken care of. More fucking lies. I told him to get it finished so i could leave. I called the 1-800 complaint line and they said the DM (Travis) would be calling me. Nope. Store manager Jeremy called me. 'We will look into it and take care if the 'Clint' issue. I told him I wasn't satisfied talking to him still wanted to talk to Travis. He said he would have him call me. Chapter four-- Two weeks go by and nothing but crickets from this company. I call the 1-800 line again and was told the bigger boss over Travis would call me. Nope, but Travis did a couple days later. Travis told me that Jeremy closed out the complaint and never told him about it. More lies from someone..... Travis? Jeremy? I don't know or care. Travis is apologetic and he owns his shit and owns what his employees failed to own. 'Lets make it right and get the brakes and alignment taken care of for you.' Cool right? About time someone has customer service in mind. Brakes and alignment are scheduled for the Gardenerville store. Chapter five-- Brakes are done. Alignment is done. Every one at the g-ville location was great. A few days later, a noise starts to show itself. It gets worse so i call the G-ville store and Chuck is a bit rude and appears to be having a bad day. An hour later the brakes come apart and a wrecker is called. So off to tires plus we go. Not on your life. No way are they gonna touch another thing for me. It was towed to Brakes Alignment Plus in Carson City and Bill finds that a caliper bolt is completely missing. WTF! Travis agrees to pay tow bill and repairs made by Bill and his awesome crew. We will see how that works out. Don't do business with this company, especially the Carson City branch. Still shaking my head. read more

Not worth the hassle, they totally try to upsell needless expensive items and by the way they will help themselves to anything not attached to the vehicle. Yes they stole from my car after spending $1300? What kind of manager allows this? I'll tell you Mark. They seem nice but are trying to steal every penny you have along with anything else you leave in your vehicle, warning clean everything out of your car before going. Mark tried to tell me I needed a new battery, a whole new suspension for a 3 year old h3. Dealer said put battery on charger for 2hrs and there was nothing wrong with the suspension. Mark gave me an estimate for these needless repairs totaling another $1200 and his price was good for 1 week, what a crook. I bought 60,000 mile tires for my vehicle and they went bad after 25,000 miles. They didnt even honor their warranty. Said I should of got the other warranty. Went to Les Schwab and got great tires that have not shown much wear on them yet. The staff was awesome and tried to do everything to earn my business. Tires Plus could learn alot from them. I can't thank these guys enough! They went out of their way to help me out of an extremely difficult bind. On the way back from burning man one of my tires developed a hernia (huge bubble) in the side wall, I swapped the spare out only you have it blow out. Panicking I began calling every place in the area. Only tire plus could help me! Anthony was super kind for squeezing me in on a super busy Sunday, he even had one of his guys go grab the tires I needed from Reno because they didn't have them in stock. The guys at Tires Plus really saved me from what was becoming a terrible day and I am forever grateful! Zach greeted us when we walked in and I instantly knew we were in the right spot. Jeremy took excellent care of my truck, getting my tires on in what I considered record time. My only complaint is that I live in LA and will only get to stop here in the future if something goes wrong. I have been using this Carson City Tires Plus for the last 8 years for all my vehicles. This store used to be very customer service orientated but not anymore. Corporate is only concerned with volume and not quality workmanship. The quality of their service has gone down hill for some time now. I have seen the "don't care attitude first hand. Zack, who is working the sales counter, only cares about up selling all the customers he talks to, sometimes without even finding out the customers (like the tires in question are under a Tires Plus warranty). I ordered my new tires and set an appointment all online. I get a call a couple minutes later from an abrasive guy trying to up sell me tires by telling me the tires I just ordered aren't there. Then he paused. I said just cancel it then. Miraculously, my tires suddenly appeared! Then he called a few hours later with the "grim" news. My car needs new this and new that and if I were you, I'd do brakes and new rotors too. Then you'll need an alignment, (which I had done the day before). He says, it would be hard to align with those parts so worn out. Whatever!! I took it back to my mechanic to verify. It cost me another $55.00 to have my mechanic double check this guy's BS! Nothing else needed at this time. Unnecessary stress about my car because this unscrupulous guy tried to screw me. I should have listened to everyone who told me not to go here. Took my car to get new tires and an oil change, and now have a broken car. I came in at the time they told me it would be done, and it wasn't, and I could hear the mechanic yell at the receptionist for asking. Then I get my cat back, with 4.5 quarts of oil (on receipt) when my car takes 6, weird but whatever, I'll put the 1.5 in myself. But not even 20 min later my engine starts ticking. Stupid me, instead of thinking to take it back to them, I put the 1.5 qt of oil and check the dipstick. It didn't even register I had oil in it. THEY DIDNT EVEN PUT OIL IN IT. But I have to take responsibility, I should have went back and told them as soon as I realized something was off, but instinctively, I put oil in it to see if the noise would stop, but the damage was done, now I have a $1400 repair to take care of. Don't go here, and if you do, double check they did everything. And yes, this is partially my fault for not taking it back immediately, but it's not my fault they were careless or lazy, whichever. read more

If we could give negative stars this place would get -10. I took 2 brand new and freshly custom powdercoated wheels and 2 brand new tires into these guys. Picked them up later that day to only find 1 wheel scratched and other wheel with a flat tire due to them tearing the tire bead. No one told me anything about these issues. When i dropped them off i told the guy up front 3 times to be very careful that i just had these wheels custom powdercoated. Chris the guy up front said no problem. Well now there is a problem. Took both wheels back and the Manager Jeremy who thinks he is a know it all tells me no way him with 20 years and his tire guy with 15 years expierence could of done this and that whoever did the powdercoating messed it up. LOL!!! Seriously??? Wheels were gone over with a magnify glass with the powercoating place before paying for them. Admit that your 20 years expierence doesnt mean crap if you cant safely mount tires on wheels without damaging the tires or wheels. (I have over 23 years automotive expierence and i still make mistakes BUT i admit to them and i fix them right!) He gave me $180 for the busted tire and tells me he wont do anything about my $500 wheels or $200 powdercoating i had done. This place will not admit to their mistakes and will try to throw you away instead of making it right. Now i either have to deal with the scratchs or pay another $200 for powdercoating plus $50 for tire dismount and remount and balance. His answer......Bring it back to us and we will have our people look at it...Really??? Last thing i want you touching is my wheels again...Plus do you understand what custom powdercoating means???? It means only 1 place can do it because it was a custom color to match my car!!!! You want to make it right??? Give me $250 and ill have the wheels fixed by the same place that did them the first time! I and everyone i know who used to go there will be taking their business elsewhere now. Thanks! read more

Since I didn't have an appointment. I was told the car would have to be left approximately 4 hours, but the guys got me out in about two. I went here for the first time the other day to have my tires plugged. I was told they could only repair one tire, but was accidentally charged for 2 repairs. I went back about 5 days later and they returned the 2nd tire with no question. The customer service and overall service on my vehicle was great. My only complaint is the wait time from the time you enter to the time you're helped. I waited 10+ minutes on 2 occasions before I was helped. Have used the oil change services of tries plus for several years for two vehicles. usually they have a coupon for a discount. Sent wife in with coupon for 19.95 oil service and they did a 49.95 full synthetic on her. A cursory check of their records would have shown a history of regular oil changes. Quite irritated with them. My advice is use them, but pay attention to the questions they are asking and what you are signing prior to service being done! As they say "trust, but verify." read more

I never write reviews but the experience I had yesterday has really pushed me to share what I encountered. Being a female, I'm usually guarded going into places like that...too many times I find them trying to sell me services that aren't required. Even though I paid for them to do the full inspection on my vehicle and expecting them to tell me that I needed new filters, brakes or any other wide range of services, they came back and told me everything was in good shape. The only additional service I paid for was an alignment, but I had already half expected to do that anyway. Aside from that, the customer service that I witnessed for other customers was remarkable. One example that stands out is an elderly gentleman that came in for service. Turns out that his repair was under warranty but it was going to take a great portion of the day to complete. Instead of expecting him to wait all afternoon in the lobby, Clint offered to take him home and was very patient and the gentleman made his way to the door. Sadly you just don't see customer service like that anymore very often so it really stands out. There were other examples that I witnessed too that would definitely make me feel good about recommending Tires Plus in Carson City to anyone in need of services that they provide. read more

Their work is good, but they told me that I needed extra parts needed to complete alignment. They tried to sell me all 4 ball joints and I asked them if the tolerances were .0040 and they said yes. I question them further and they had no clue. Mechanic wrote down both lower and they quoted me for all 4. My complaint is the inner tie rod end I was charged 169.00 Looking on local parts stores it was available at under $40.00. I could see a mark up to 80.00, but this was out of line. Technically you can't perform an alignment with bad ball joints but they did. Mechanics are good. Service writers greedy! read more

These guys are the biggest con Artists in the state of Nevada. Extremely overpriced, the work takes forever, and they always come up with "necessities". They even tried to sell me a serpentine belt when I just replaced the engine less than 20,000 miles prior and replaced the belts then. The first time i took my car here for an oil change i called ahead and made and appointment to bring my car in a few days later. i brought my car in to find they were to busy to do it so they gave me the option the bring it back a few days later for a $10 oil change. i was happy, it was a good deal and a minor set back. the next time go to get my oil change there everything seems to go relatively smooth. I than take my car to a local mechanic the following time who informs me the oil plug was stripped and caulked with silicon. so i take it back to the last place to do the oil, tires plus, and they deny to have done it or know anything about it but decide to fix it at no cost instead of arguing. After replacing the oil bad oil pan at no cost my car still leaks oil and didnt before. a few of my friends have taken there cars there and experienced nothing but slow service. their staff is very friendly but I question there qualifications to work on cars. read more

I want to thank these great guys for helping me out on Monday, Sept 26. I was on my way to San Francisco to deliver a car and the maint req. light came on and the boss said I had to get the tires rotated before delivery. When I pulled in at 1230 they said it would be a 3 hr wait. I didn't have any choice but to wait. By the time I had walked down to get some lunch and walked back at 1:30....they had it done and waiting for me!!!!! Long drive from Boise Idaho to San Francisco and they saved me a bunch of time.
